Parachoko:His comnents shows sucb a high level of ignorance and some people will believe him o. This is how negative thoughts and advise spread like wild fire. Meanwhile those with positive mindsets are cashing out big time. Poverty, truly, emanates from the state of mind |
It is absolutely wrong for your friend to impose his desire on the lady without considering her interest and life desires.too. What I think he should do is reaffirm his commitment and love for her and ask her about her interests, skills and goals in life. From there, you can have a better view of what makes her happy and works towards it together. Plwase note that not everyone is business oriented. You can't just propose to open a supermarket not knowing if she has a flare or skill to.run such business. That is disaster in waiting. You wouldn't want to start ranting that you used huge amount to open a supermarket for her but she runs it down? |
Aremu683:This is not correct. The land where Fufu is located used to belong to Ọlọtà of Ìlọta. The people that founded Ìlọtà are from Old Ọyọ empire. The town, called Ilọtà is an ancient town. This is first hand information. Ílọtà was established about 23 years before Afọnjà came to Ìlorin and use Ìlọrìn as a war Camp. This is not hearsay. Thìs is genuine history. Gamọn Amoyọ- Idofian are Igbomina, not Fufu and the surrounding land. |
temitope66:Do you have a copy of the Oriki chants by Olu- Igbomina, espcially part 1 please? I believe it was produce Aran - Orin. |
Toymax88:Fufu is not Igbomina, Fufu was established for Alangua, who used to reside in Ilọta. It is a village of mixed Yourba/Fulani heritage. The writer meant to write Ganmon- Amayọ? They are Igbomina. Fufu is located on Ọlọta Land. Ilọta is pure Ọyọ people and one of the oldest town in that area and shared boundary with Igbomina people (Igbo- Owu, Idofian, etc Since ilota is currently under Ilorin South, so is Fufu as the 'nominal' LGA Hq. |
99thEnemy:I will only comment on the distance from the Soakaway. Even, 5m should be fine as the depth of aquifer is way deeper and hence the water cannot be contaminated at that depth. |
I guess this this is a basement terrain? The actual depth should be 170m to180m. The geophyscist wants to save you some money. Hence the recommended 160m. The aquifer at about (~100m) is called perched aquifer. It is also good if you don't expect heavy water use. You should be fine with normal domestic use but the water may sometimes not be enough if it is to be made available to other tenants and neighbours? The yield, may reduce rapidly, if used constanly and may reduce drastically during the dry season? The water at 180m is the main aquifer and never get to dry and the yield remains constant irrespective of use. If you don't want issues due to water yield and quality in future, ensure the water depth reaches about 180m. This would ensure excellent water quality, high yield consistencies and borehole stability for now and in future. I would recommend drilling up to at least 170m for excellent water yield, quality and your peace of mind which is more important. |
Naya261:If both are travelling to the UK together, then the best way is to sponsor your wife's nursing career, while you go as her dependant. It the easiest way to get a stay. Otherwise, go solo, that is go for your MSc jẹjẹ. If you are favoured to get a stay, then bring your wife first and later your children. Anything less of this? You are on your own. Be warned! |
pdppower:Wrong. He who trains and impacted the life of the child positively owns the child, irrespective. That is why the Yorubas would say, "Ẹnì bì ọmọ, ko le da bì ẹnì to tọ ọmọ" meaning "One who gives birth to a child can not be compared to the one who trains the child". |
symbianDON:A simple google search could provide you some answers before responding. " Yes, overspeeding is an offence in Nigeria and can lead to significant fines, license endorsement points, and potentially imprisonment in serious cases or for repeat offenders, making it a criminal offense under the law." Cheers. |
Glimpsetv:Overspeeding is a criminal offence. If you still don't get it, then forget about it. *smiles* |
Kharol1234:Overspeeding is a criminal offence. If you still don't get it, then forget about it. *smiles* |
LibertyRep:Many Nigerians are so gullible. I wonder why there is so much rhetorics now, especially when the Nigerian economy is becoming less dependent on dollar. I think someone is looking for a reason to take us back to the shaky economic and political foundation of yestaryears. Unfortunately many may be too short sighted to see unril the deed has been done. That not withstanding, it seems the Nigerian milliitary echelon are doing business with this insurgent and militia issues. It is disheartening to see that it take some external influence for them to take this issue more seriously now. Meanwhile, the Nigerian influence in Africa would diminish drastically if extrnal force may have to come and fight on our behalf because of corruption, religious bigotory and nepotism. Unfortunately, those that may be seen as a saviour have a bigger reason to invade the Nigerian state than what is being portrayed on the social media. |
LagosOrigin:I can bet you are fully ignorant of what said up here. Go back and read your history books. |
Coldie:You are not alone. As much as I would like to invest in the UK, aside real estate. My mind and soul keep going back home to invest. One thing is sure, if you learn how to listen to your spirit and it keeps coming, then it means that is where your success and fulfilment may lie, irrespective. There are those that would live in Nigeria and become billionaires and there those that would relocate and be successful too, irrespective. Eventually, being fulfilled is the ultimate. NB: I know someone who thought he should test the waters and went back to lagos, but ended up leaving his family in the UK and now live permanenetly in Nigeria (Lagos) when he saw so much business opportunities and potentials. He, now, comes every 4 months. Last time I saw him he said he is leaving soon as he can't stay that long there again. Now that is telling you something... Follow where your God given spirit leads. It may be a bit of a challenge at the beginning but in the long run, it would be good success stories shortly afterwards. |
epainos:Please learn to correct without outright condemnation. Yes, Some parts of Aguda and Ijeshatedo, cum Itire are parts of Surulere. You can take that to the Bank. |
hosemujica:Thanks for your observation! I do have the inkling something of such would happen. I will hope a few people would read in-between the lines and gain a few insights and learn of me. Otherwise, I will leave them to their reprobate mind about Nigeria. One thing I have realized it. One can never make any good of an environment he/she sows negativity always. Such a soul would always reap negativity and will never see any good thing about that environment be it UK, US or Canada or even heaven. |
Calitoscassius:Did he tell you; he did not have some money? He needs sellable skills. there are many opportunities in Nigeria and with the little funds and careful planning. He can get his life back, full time and still be a blessing to others. This is where you are missing it. Most of you think it is all about money, all the time. This life is more than money. Fulfilment of purpose and peace of mind surpasses all. Even if it is 1 or 2 houses (plus landed secured somewhere properties) that he is getting some rentage form and a few other stuffs that he does that brings money. then he is averagely secured financially at least until he finds his feats. One thing most of you don't realize is...you sow what you reap into an environment. if you sow negativity, then you will reap the reward, but if you decide to sow positivity, you will always see opportunities where others are complaining. Nigeria remains one of the best places to make it easily and legit too. |
Coldie:It is a good move. If your soul and body crave to be back in Nigeria. Do it. You will never regret it. However, relocating back home should not be an impromptu decision. It should be a carefully plan move over a period of time. Please note: If you don't have reasonable investment back home. Don't make the move yet - if you don't want to regret it later. 1. You ought to have some investment back home - especially real estate such as Land and houses. 2. Ensure you are properly trained and learnt some good skills, in an area of interest, that you can covert to money. 3. You ought to have arranged and start a registered business or company. 4.You will need to re-initiate good contacts with reliable friends and family (do not disclose your worth or intensions yet). 5. You would need to start visiting Nigeria at least twice, in a year and spend minimum of a month each time before relocating finally. And, 6. Finally, commit your steps unto the lord and your thoughts ( plans) shall be established. Returns, from those land and building investments will be providing you the required sustenance until your business/company picks up fully. The easiest place to live well and become a billionaire is Nigeria, not the UK or the US. There is a reason why God place us in Africa, the mother of all continents. You wonder why I have a carefully planned points up there? *smiles*. Many of us do have similar plans for the foreseable future. Nigeria is the country to be... the economy will boom massively in the next 10 years and only those who are fully prepared will benefits immensely from it. A word is enough for the wise I wish you all the best. |
geosegun:Hey @babz007, I am keen to know how you are doing now? Respond to this message and let's catch up. If you are keen? Cheers |
pongwa:. She is definitely losing votes. Leadership is about diplomacy and loyalty. If she can do this to her fatherland, what else can she not do to Britain? She talks down on her fatherland just to gain political relevance. The LP is waiting for her and could use this against her. Most Nigerians don't really vote in the UK, but because of the way she is going about this - there would be record voters on Nigerians in the UK and it may not be in her favour. Yes, we may not be happy about the situation in Nigeria, but we don't take Shiriit from outsiders. Kemi, has seen herself as an outsider, so no qualms. However, even if she invariably becomes the PM, she will not have the required influence, not only, in Nigeria but Africa at large (She forget the Nigeria influence on the Africa centre stage). Nigeria will disown her and nothing will happen. The UK needs more trade and people support more this time than ever before. One thing about the British leadership is that they lay low and watch and they will act at the appropriate time. Kemi's Character doesn't built bridges. She may be removed as the tory leader just before the next election. Nigeria and Nigerians, will definitely, treat her fcccoock ups, unless she quickly realizes her mistakes and retrace her steps. But Aja ti o ba ma so nu, ko ni gbo fere olode (A dog that will go astray will not accede to the Hunters warning |
atiku4President:Na, She could be well described as Yoruigbo |
teeytimi:Actually, it does, in some circumstances, for those that are into contracting jobs (personal business). They put the cost of the Car (now limited to certain cost range now) under company expenses. . |
pedel:It is not a wrong information. It depends on the perspective that the beneficiary is looking at? While your analysis regarding tax is correct, you completely omitted the child benefits perspective. For example; 1. If one is earning below 50k as a citizen, kids are entitled to certain amount of money per week (about £20?) - which could amount to substantial amount of money per month if you have 3 or 4 kids. 2. Also if you want your kid to start nursery before 3 years then you will pay for it and this amount can vary to about £50 and £70 per day. This may not be an issue for those that are earning way below £50k. Once the annual income is >£50k,and about £60k? It start to reduce. Once your pay is greater than £60k - Your kids are no longer entitled to such benefits whether they are citizens or not. If you claim it, HRMC will claim it back from you. They have a system that works. Such benefits would be reduced and some eliminated, the moment your pay is above £50k per annum. Most people who claim benefits don't come out to disclose it. Most especially, our people. NB: Only citizen (British passport and people with indefinite leave to remain (ILR) have access to this benefit. |
IconicR:Your friend's (your) mum is right. She wants her (you) to learn a great lesson here. To whom much is given, so much more is expected. Your friend (you) should have considered the emotional torture her mum will also go through when she heard about her beloved daughter engaging in a free for all fight in a company she (you) may probably inherit? Don't you know such an act will ultimately reduces your friend's (your) values before the staff? Your friend (you) will lose all respect and invariably ruin the company. Her (your) mum is absolutely correct here. I may do same too. Your mum's friend could see that your friend is (you are) proud and she needs to humble her (you). She is a great mother. |
IconicR:Your friend has no right to dish out instruction. She is an intern. She should be there learning how to run a business from the experienced colleagues and not dish out instruction because it is her mum's company. Your friend is absolutely wrong, and should not only apologise to staff but to her mum for dissapointing her. Her mum is not a happy mum as we speak. If I were to be youtr friends mum, she will not step on that premises again and may even lose all the privileges as a daughter in that company if she did not strictly comply to the assigned role. Your friend should be humbled enough to learn how to walk before attempting to fly. Her attitude can ruin her mum's legacy within 6 months. Your friend should go and knee to her mum in sincere soberness and apologise. NB: Reading in-between the line. I think you are your friend. Do this advise above and you will do well in life. |
Christistruth03:Your first sentence has shown how naïve you are---Russia, a Western power? Are you kidding me? Please go back and have a look at google map to know the actual location of Russia on the world map. I have said it before - Your education and exposure are half baked. You have successfully removed every doubt. I won't say much again since you are not ready to learn. All the very best, young man. |
Christistruth03:You obviously miss the point. Those coups and counter coups are supported by the so called western powers so as to continue the proxy ways of pillaging the natural resources. You don't get it. Name just 1 African country that Russia has cheated/ruled/pillaged in her history, either directly or indirectly. The only supposed to work Steel industry in Nigeria was built in the 80s by Russia. Who do you think discouraged the development and initiation of the Ajaokuta steel industry? Please note that I am not supporting military's take over in Francophone country. I am only against the analogy of France including black Africans in the Football team. How does that benefit Africans? |
Christistruth03:You are obviously a half baked graduate, that is, if you pass through a university education at all? Russia in all her power and glory never participated in the pillage of Africa resources nor engaged in slavery of Africans unlike your so called France. When Russia tells you something it sticks by it. When Russia engages in Business - i can bet you - it will be a win - win. It remains a strong country that doesn't take advantage of the weaker nations. So mere sport representation is what you see as benefits to Africans? Do you know what France did to Francophone countries? Pegging all their currencies (CFA) to Euro, take hostage of their 43% GDP, having first refusal access to all their natural resources including Uranium, in exchange for 'phantom' security. do you know what that means? It means, your 'mighty' France, is basically feeding off the Francophone resources. You are such a dunce! I pity your generation. A generation that does not know her history would never know her worth. Yours would be worse than those illiterates in Sambisa forest. You should bury your head in shame. Shior |
Don't do the wedding for now. Stay off. Let your wife to be know your position. The Family will be all out to frustrate you in the end if you agree to their condition. Even if you both travel to the UK, You may not enjoy your marital bliss and the lady may end up leaving you in the end. Young man, you may get so frustrated. Life is in the UK is not what people think. Great support and understanding is what will see you through and not emotional love. Your wife family will be controlling her and you will get so frustrated. Don't give in to their conditions. Let things playout from your end and not via your in-laws'. Believe you me, this marriage plan is bound to fail, unless your in-law to be, changed their attitudes. If not, you will be at the losing end. Don't try it. Be frank with your wife to be and let her know your position and stand by it. Your are now being seen as their piece meal ticket and trust me the moment you cant provide, all hell will be let lose. You will lose out in this game if you don't take the bull by the horn. It takes only a month, after your wedding, to realize that, only love, can not take you through this new phase of your life. Your wife, should understand and should be the one to sort things out if she truly loves you. Don't force it. If not, there would be another amazing lady that will give you true happiness and peace of mind THAT YOU SO DESIRE. Even if you are going to travel out later. Don't do it now, not on your supposed in-laws demand. It would be a grave mistake. DONT DO IT! |
dyera:This is Fallacy, the igbos voted for Peter Obi because he is Igbo and not becausehe is a Christian. No tribe values religion over their tribes in the south. No region has ever voted such a skewed votes in the history of Nigeria like the Igbos did in the past election. The SE made a geat mistake that no reasonable person can defend. The biases was very glaring and action not democratic at all. Almost >95% votes for a candidate, just because he is from SE region? Tell me which other tribe does same in Africa? |
this would make him even more depressed. You think all you mentioned above are that easy to achieve?
