Good evening my fellow Nairalanders, i have been suffering from severe body itching for the past 2 months. The itching is even more severe in my penis, scrotum and thighs. Sometimes i find it difficult to fall asleep in the nights, i have gone to Teaching hospital here in Kano on 5 occasions and the Doctors prescribed several medicines for me, ranging from Antibiotics, Antifungals as well as Anti Allergy medicines and all those Antifungal/Antibacterial creams. But nothing has changed because i am still suffering from this serious itching. They even ran some tests on me and nothing was found. Another thing is all my life i have never had sex. Pls Doctors in the house kindly come to my aid with your useful advice... Thank you

Good evening my fellow nairalanders. Something very important has been bothering me of recent. I have fallen in love with this pretty and nice girl. She is in SS3 but her level of maturity is what i like the most. We are really blending together. But guys do you think it is cool being in a relationship with a secondary school girl? I am a graduate and currently doing my NYSC... If it were you, would you be in a relationship with a secondary school girl? Advice needed!
NwaChibuzor13: That girl is not strong at all. How can you die because you are giving birth to ordinary twins? People who are giving birth to triplets and quadruplets nko? Just last week, an 11 yrs old girl in my street gave birth to a bouncing set of triplets and here is a 13yrs old girl that cannot handle just 2.
Good day my people, i am writing this piece due to what am passing through, i go through hell day and night due to anxiety and my extreme worry over HIV infection... My problem started when i had a high risk exposure, and some few weeks later i had cough, cattarh( with some blood coming from my nostril), some sores close to my mouth that looks like cold sore or fever blisters, swollen lymph node under my jaw though just one, and a mild headache. All these symptoms cleared away in 3 days after i took some antibiotics prescribed by my Doctor. After that i started checking google for some early HIV symptoms, and some of my symptoms correspond with early symptoms of HIV, that was where the real problem started. After like 3 and half months i went for HIV test in one of VCT centres. And they did a Finger prick rapid test on me, the result came back negative in 10 minutes time. But i am still going through hell because i learned that the HIV window period is usually 3 months in most cases, but some can reach 6 months. Now my questions are, do you think my symptoms corresponds with early hiv symptoms? i have never had that mouth sore before. Do you think my 3 months HIV test is conclusive using the rapid test? Pls Nairalanders and Doctors help a brother... You just cannot understand the hell am passing through, i can't wish even my enemy what i am passing through... Thank you
Over 3m bottles of codeine syrup are consumed daily in Kano and Jigawa states by women and youths, the Senate said yesterday. The revelation was sequel to the adoption of a motion by Senator Baba Kaka Bashir Garbai (APC,Borno) and 37 others on the need to check the rising menace of pharmaceutical drug abuse among youths.
The motion was seconded by Senator Jibrin Barau (APC, Kano). Garbai said research has shown that abusers of the codeine syrup in Kano and Jigawa states take up to 3 to 8 bottles per day.
He said while the abuse of prescriptive drugs and cough syrups had been thought to be a problem typical in the North-Western part of the country, investigations have shown an incredible spike in drug-abuse in Borno State and the Northeast ravaged by Boko Haram.
“The increasing abuse of cough and prescriptive drugs, among the youth and women across the 19 northern states has resulted in meaningless deaths, rendered them largely unproductive and has devastated many upper and middle class families in the region. “There are several reports about young girls in tertiary institutions, who have taken to an alarming abuse of the codeine cough syrup, which is often taken, mixed with soft drink. This problem is destroying even mothers in homes, as they use same codeine and other drugs as an escape from their abusive relationships and invariably get hooked on them,” he said. He said the abuse of cough syrup has become so widespread in recent years, that even secondary school students use them regularly. “The pharmaceutical drug abuse is threatening a generation of northern Nigerian women including, young girls in tertiary institutions, working class ladies, married women, unemployed women, displaced women from the Boko Haram insurgency,” he said. Supporting the motion, Senator Aliyu Wamakko said the problem of drug abuse was not peculiar to the north; hence it should be treated as a national menace.
Accordingly, the Senate mandated it’s Joint Committee on Drugs and Narcotics and Health to bring forward a legislative intervention needed to combat the trend. It also urged the Federal Government to partner with states, local governments, traditional rulers, Pharmacists Council of Nigeria, NGOs to create a holistic framework in fighting this category of drug abuse.
The Upper chamber also urged the Federal Government to establish rehabilitation centres/clinics for the victims of drug abuse. Senate President Bukola Saraki said the NDLEA and PCN acts should be amended to capture the development. He also said a roundtable would be convened by the Senate to proffer a lasting solution to the menace.
