okpala95: Me too. Had interview in Lagos, same date. Hopefully, AM should drop this week.
Going to Potsdam, btw. @okpala95 I am considering Potsdam (MSC) and I will like to ask you some questions about the application requirement. The course I am going for is taught in English but part of the application requirement is that I provide proof of German language skill (A2). How do you advise I go about this? Also, Did you certify the docs you sent to uni-assist. Thanks in advance |

@Frankrobbin1 @Austinpee4
I need your opinion on this. I printed my bank statement on April 30 and I will be submitting my application on Wednesday, May 30, even though I am not sponsoring myself, do you advise to reprint my statement or is it still valid? |

@jnyuwa02 Cool, When did you do yours? jnyuwa02: You can be done with submission at Abuja, biometrics and everything collected in only a few hours. Mine took two hours. There are no lines, just come and do your submission and you will be out in no time. Thank God for Abuja. If things all over Nigeria worked like Abuja, we would have a country we can all be proud of. |

@Frankrobbn1 Please after filling and validating the IMM 1294 form on my computer and generating the barcode page, I went back to make a change before printing the form. Will it affect anything? |

Thanks Guru! I really appreciate your advice. God bless. Frankrobbn1: gerrymini,
This is more realistic and credible! In this case, it's more better you claim that this business is running and try as much as possible to show some funds in your name. Again, make sure the activities of this business shows a natural progression with your proposed program in Canada.
All the best! |

Noted. So what do you advise? can I say self-employed since I already have a registered business even though it is not in operation? Frankrobbn1: gerrymini,
Resigning from your place of work just for the sake of sitting for an IELTS test and preparing for your studies in Canada is not justifiable. Reasons why I said its not justifiable is because people combine their job, sit for an IELTS test, prepare for their studies abroad and at the end, they achieve their purpose without leaving their respective places of work. Why should you then resign all in the name of travelling to Canada when you haven't secured your TRV? That's a question you need to answer. I hope you don't intend presentating the above, because it's unreasonable.
All the best! |

@Frankrobbn1 I am facing a similar challenge although, I intend to say that I resigned my job to study for my IELTS (which I did) and prepare ahead for studies in Canada. Do you think this will fly? Frankrobbn1: chisiudeh, Considering that you've already quit your current job as at January and you've not been working since then. CIC wants to know what you've been doing for the past 10years till date. Presenting to them on file that you don't have something doing for the past 5 months since you last left your previous job, you're indirectly asking them to refuse your application based on 1-) Current employment situation, 2-) Limited employment prospects in country of residence. 3-) Personal assests and financial status and 4-) Purpose of visit. To avoid this, It will be best you include the details of your previous employment while filling the IMM1294 form and also try acquire a new employment letter from a company to cover your 5 months gaps that will be directly related to your intended program.
All the best! |

@Frankrobbn1 Can one also submit CAC doc for a business name registered in 2013 but not yet in operation to address family ties? Frankrobbn1: chisiudeh,
You need to show sufficient ties to your home country i.e. what will compel you to return home with the following shortlisted.
1-) Do you have a spouse and kids(minors) and are you leaving them behind? 2-) Do you have elderly parents who depend on you? 3-) Do you own businesses/property that you need to continue managing? 4-) Do you have adequate funds? 5-) Do you have family members whom are not accompanying you to Canada?
I think number 2,3 and 5 should be your home ties here. Lastly, A good SOP/LOE outlining your career prospects back home is also a tie. |

Noted, thanks. yes he will give me all details i require. sogima: It is not mandatory for your sponsor to transfer funds into your account. All you need do is state on your supporting details on your SOP and have a proof of all stated. Since he is willing to give u details u require then I think u re good to go |

Thank you for your response. I actually volunteered my time there, it wasn't like I was employed without pay. The reason I did so is that i resigned my job about that period to study for IELTS and prepare for studies in Canada. Following your advice, I will not mention the voluntary work at his company. He also added in the sponsorship letter that upon my arrival (after studies) he will make me part of the senior management team in his company (I am actually going to study Management). I hope this makes more sense. Also, I hope I will not face the problem of current employment situation if i state that I resigned my job to study for IELTS and prepare for studies in Canada? jnyuwa02: It is not necessary normally. But given he has worked for this man with no pay and the relations is distant, VOs will require convincing explanations about the bonafides of this sponsor and his ability to commit and the applicant’s ties of coming to Nijia to a job he is not payed for. At the very least he should pay to improve his chances. |

Somebody Help!!
I am quite confused.
My sponsor is my Godfather and I have been assisting in running his business for the past seven months without pay. He is willing to sponsor but won't transfer any money to me now until I get my TRV. I am getting a reference letter from his company saying that I intern there but without pay. He is also giving me his bank statements (personal and business), company docs, employment letters and landed docs. We are also from the same state and can provide state of origin doc.
Please, what are my chances? |

Hello House,
I should start by thanking all those who take their time to respond and advise on this platform, Kudos!
Currently in the process of gathering my documents to apply for TRV and I am a bit confused. What documents can I present to prove the relationship between me and my sponsor who is my uncle (my father's maternal half-brother)? |
