dane15: As massive competition looms in the labour market, time to make yourself so useful and efficient in what you are now doing (developing yourself, earning more certifications and improving your skill level and with God's favour your cashflow will remain steady at the minimum.
Secondly, consider alternate sources of cashflow. Do not put all your eggs in one basket. Diversify your risks out.
A friend I know who works in the downstream has a recharge card retail business and laundry for meeting daily needs, a Unilever distributorship for monthly needs and his salary to save to take advantage of other opportunities. This model can be scaled down or upwards depending on your income level.
Just thought to share this with the GT Family. God bless us all.
Happy Easter in advance. Good one, dane15...one of the few concisely sensible pieces I've read lately on nairaland. This is innocent/genuine "common sense"...not the MurrayBruce political type. |

ItsTime4me: Yes, keep an open mind. That's the spirit. However, I am sure those that got the 'ongoing mail' are the successful ones. Afterall, what prevents them from saying that one is unsuccessful when he really is. Those guys are at a cross road. Yes, those that got mail are qualified to work with us, but how many of them do we absorb, considering the situation of things? Ok, why don't we wait till so and so time till things will improve? Alright, until then, let's inform them that the process is ongoing without any form of commitment. That is the situation I think. Remember, the mail says: 'with reference to your participation in AC'. Strong points...good analysis. |

tonylaw07: I use a 2008 ford Edge limited edition. I must confess it's a good ride but parts are expensive. I have changed the brake servo(30k) for tokunbo. The driver shaft head 20k for tokunbo. I buy my part from a seller at Maryland. He deal only on American cars. Thanks for this information |

I'm very interested in this thread. I've been looking out to get a Ford edge, but the cost of maintenance and availability of spare parts remain of big concern to me. Looking up, this thread was last updated in 2010 (over 5 years ago), has the situation clearly changed or just insignificantly improved? I will appreciate getting comments on a recent thread I created here https://www.nairaland.com/2820777/ford-edge-cost-maintenance-availability |

Please I am thinking of getting a 2007 or 2008 Ford Edge, but having serious concerns about the cost of maintenance and availability/cost of spare parts. 1. Do I have to go to the Coscharis and Briscoe's of this world before I can have my car serviced or procure genuine parts? 2. About how much, on average, will routine servicing of the car cost? 3. How expensive are the spare parts compared to similar parts in common brands like Honda and Toyota? |

darkknight007: I would like to know if anyone else is struggling to prepare as I am. I realise the vagueness of it all might be to blame and would like to know some specifics or structure that can aid our study. In situations like this, time is of the essence and managing it successfully is usually the difference between success and its ugly twin.
By the way, mine is on the 15th of June. You are not alone bro. I've been very busy and have absolutely no time to prepare. I know of a few others like that... Just be calm, squeeze time out to practise at least something (related to NLNG's assessment) every day and be yourself. We'll get there. Success! |

freeradical: Who knows what criteria nlng would employ to select successful candidates amongst d lot. Would it be by state of origin(fed. Character), or by discipline(probably they have allocated quota for different fields of study), or plainly by merit based on ones performance at the event irrespective of state or discipline or a combination of both. With the news of slashed slots due to crashing oil and gas prices will they have to make hard choices in cutting down d final number.
Only time will tell.... Over to you please @ Nicer |
