proudmom38: Some hospital sef with this chooking hand of a thing, wetin dem dey find? Lol. I was checked down there 3× only, first when my nurse friend wanted to closed from her morning shilt (I asked her to) and I was 2 cm dilated, (that was 2pm) Second time was when my gyna came in at 5pm, he checked and I was 5cm dilated.
The third third time was when I had the urge to push at 5.35pm (that's when I was fully dilated)
But maybe it's because I was induced sha. hmm I guess because I was still pressing phone at 6cm, everyone thought the other person was lying until they checked for themselves, that would account for the first three checks. When the real pain started I said hell no to any unnecessary chooking. |

fruitfulhome: Goodmorning Mummies, hope we are so good today? May today turn out so easy and fruitful to us all....
@ Giddyperson, the Lord is he strength, u will come out victorious. My last semester exam was meant to clash with my delivery and God being faithful answered my prayers. I delivered five days to my exam. Lucky enough, it was further extended for about 10days. With all discouragement from people how I will break down as I was busy reading for the exam with episiotomy pain o and baby cry cry, from circumcision pains to colics to episiotomy breaking down and restitching, I was determined to write my Masters exam because I abandoned it before. Intact, for a particular course, I had up to sixteen seminar topics to read but I read the ones about 9 I could read. My mum was around to follow me to the exams for 5 days so she stayed with baby while I came out like twice to feed him. The end result was that it was a huge success. As mama's have said, with determination, u can make. There is this saying that you don't know how strong u are untill being strong is ur only options. People were so impressed by my actions. I even heard that some of my colleagues were looking for me to dash me money. As per baby now and rushing home to rest, I missed those cash.
@.....what are mine hearing about 15 years being pregnant. I'm sure she isn't even aware that she is. My dear sis, God will make a better way for u. Hope u read my previous story of how the one I brought came with TB? My hubby friend brought a girl and it escaped his memory to do the routine test as they were travelling to another city. Do you know it only occurred to them when they saw that the girl had soaked four Lipton tea bags to drink and then they saw rashes all over her body. She had HIV 1&2. Thank God for ur wisdom. How would I have suspected a 15 years girl to be pregnant? Don't worry, challenges bring us victory
For baby's hair, when he is bathing, I put soap and add little oil to his after it has foamed. Then I comb. Atleast to detangle. after which I rinse his body. Cream his hair again and comb first before I attend to his body. He has plenty hair.
For hard poo, anytime my lo does not poo for two days, first thing in the morning before feeding him, I give him water (much above warm) to drink. The next second, you will hear the sound of poo. In fact, my hubby now reminds me if i have given him his hot water thanks. How ve u been. Good to see you finally handled your little girl situation |

kelizosuy: I pray to be really dilated before going to the hospital oh.. I nor like the chuk chuk of hand I was 5cm dilated the first time anyone chooked hand, but didn't stop them from chooking atleast 6 more times and the ultimate chooking that happens at delivery. You can avoid unnecessary chooking but there's no escaping the chooking |

My scan at 36+1wks showed 3.09 and I've been freaked out ever since, been eating in bits but the docs say its more a genetic thing. I'm serious oo,show me the ropes cos I'm real scared of tears or having to do an Emergency CS. I had an episiotomy but Forzarush and some other mamas have had bigger babies with no tear. I was 41 weeks. |

sassyangel1: Well, it depends on the height n size of the mother to depend if a 3.5kg new born baby is big or small. Most babies dt weigh such kg in my eyes look big. Hope u r gd sis? I'm good thanks for asking. My baby weighed 3.7kg at birth, people were saying she's big but she looked so tiny to me I was even scared to carry her at first. I can't imagine having a smaller baby |

sayoddy: I'm short of words. I just hope it's not serious but I can't help to think it's happening again! I'm spotting for 2hours now. I'll be 12weeks gone by Wednesday and just want to start antenatal tomorrow. I've had miscarriage before, can't go through the emotional trauma again. I was anxious to do scan tomorrow but I'm dreading that my worst fear might be confirmed I've cried my eyes out in fear. please stop crying. It doesn't have to end the same way. Make positive confessions and try not to stress yourself. It can't be easy but you'd be fine. Hugs |

Graciouscharis: @ Giddyperson, I've remember writing ICAN with a 7 months old pregnancy and it was my best result. I also wrote an exam with a 2 weeks old baby. My mom couldn't come for Omugwo because I lost my dad a month before. I was EBF. DH begged me not to but I was determined and I had the best result. I'm telling you this because sometimes we bring out the best in us when we seem to be limited. Your brain fxns at its maximum capacity and you maximize your time. Plan out your schedule and be determined. Challenge yourself and believe you can do it.
Tips on combing baby's hair: my baby has long curly hair. What I do is wash/wet the hair, apply cream/oil and use the baby brush to brush it out. The brush kind of detangles it then I comb.
If you always struggling with diaper rash, ditch those Vaseline, sudocrem and the rest. Use cheap and effective coconut oil. After cleaning your baby or at every diaper change, dry the area and use a cotton wool to apply coconut oil on the nappy area. Sometimes I just pour and use my fingers to apply. No business with rashes.
I also use coconut oil for my Tips. No need to wash it off cause it's natural and prevents and treat thrush cause it's anti fungal. |

myrygurl: Giddyperson, maamas here have given you some good advice so the key word there is determination, once you put your mind to it irrespective of the hindrances you can achieve what you want..Because if you say you want baby to grow hmmm b4 you know it another will be one the way. I remember during undergraduate days some ladies got married while in school..Some stayed in the hostels while others off k..You will see them coming to read in class with pregnancy.. Virtually all of made it with good grade even better than me that I was single then.
Thanks lightedpath for the tips about combing Thanks a lot. More on hair combing. These days I comb my baby's hair straight out of the bath and still dripping wet, you can apply the hair oil or anything you use on the wet hair. She hardly seems to notice and would just babble away while I'm at it, meanwhile it used to be a screaming battle before. Make sure you are using the right toothed comb for her hair length and texture to avoid unnecessary pain. You can gently pat it down with a towel to dry after combing. |

soonest: I did and i came out successful. I had my 2nd baby in May and had my part1 prof exam by Nov that yr. I introduced food by 5months dats in oct. By oct ending he was gulping pap and cerelac well. i started reading actively by september. Things i did. 1. I usually use creche for my children so i use to stay back after work from 2pm to 5pm reading at least 2 to 3 times weekly. 2. The days i didnt read in d office, i sleep early and wake up by 1am and read even while breastfeeding. Usually i didnt like this night reading but i was determined not to fail cos alot of money was involved. 3. On sundays, immediately after church by 10am, i leave my baby with my help and husband, off to one of d lecture theaters in a uni close to me. I usually read for 3hours and come back. 4. Towards the exam period, i did alot of discussion class and it helped. Dear, it isnt easy but you can pull it off, just be determined ok. Success will be yours in Jesus name. Thanks a lot for this |

I think you can start giving purees like banana, apple from 4months.
I usually pour boiling water and add liitle salt then allow it sit for 10mins before I use it. But now I have a special blender for it now. thanks. Ive already missed pre-pregnancy. I think I'd just do it now while there's still just one kid |

Naomi14: Writing professional courses when you are single It's not easy not to talk of with children. I am trying despite I doze off anytime I open the book I regretted stopping the class while preggy. I told myself I will do it after I give birth. Now it's so stressful am not even attending class na my room bi my class now. I won't postpone it again. You've to be determined! You can do it. Have seen lots of women with even more than one kid doing it and get good result. You need a more matured help(someone you know, a relation maybe) that can take care of baby while you read at home and also go along with you to class.
Why not get a blender for blending her food instead of using the general one in the house. yeah I'd get a different blender. I might even still have another blender from wedding gifts, I'd check when I get home. I don't think I'd postpone again too. Considering the way I regret postponing while pregnant. Plus my Fp method is whack so I might even get knocked up again while waiting for this one to grow up @hunniesuzzie. The exam is actually for next year and my baby would be almost a year old then, atleast I'd have weaned her by then so it might not be too hard |

Please who has ever taken a tough professional exam while having a baby to take care of. How did you do it. I wanted to take it while pregnant cuz I was strong and I felt I could do it but everyone discouraged me cuz of my 'condition' and I regret listening to them. Now that I've had the baby I can't even think of how it would work. I can't stay back in the office and study cuz of the baby, neither can I imagine waking up at night to read cuz I'm not even catching enough sleep as it. It's bad enough that I'd have to sacrifice my weekends for lectures. How do you people do it biko. I don't want to fail. And I don't want to have to wait until baby is older.
Secondly, my baby would be five months by next week, can I start experimenting with all the purees and baby okro you people have been sharing or is that for after 6 months.
Thirdly how do you purée food in a blender when the blender is obviously not sterile abi do you boil it after blending cuz my own blender has some hard to reach parts and can't be dismantled for more thorough washing. It looks clean to the naked eyes but... Abi can I pour boiling water in the blender and cover for a while before use. Won't that affect the blades.

gwng: Kindly note that we have sold 10s of the Kinyo Pump without having ONE SINGLE COMPLAINT. The customer (goodfortun) has confirmed that the item is still working (with the battery alternative). Its the power supply unit (charger/piwer-pack) that has gone bad (which could have been caused by power surges). She has been contacted and the power supply unit will be replaced.
Check this forum, quite a number of people use Kinyo and they ALL have good reviews about it. If I were you I'd just ignore me but if you insist of further pouring sand in your own garri then biko refer me to the pages with the good reviews of your kinyo by active members. |
