yinkus6750:# I don’t know where you live or your level of education, but if you’ve been to the Ibeju-Lekki axis recently, you’d understand that this corridor stretching from Eko Atlantic to Epe has become one of the most commercially vibrant zones in Africa. Today, millions of Nigerians are actively engaged in various commercial activities within this area. Thanks to visionary government policies and strategic infrastructural investments, projects such as the Lekki Deep Sea Port, Dangote Refinery, Lekki Free Trade Zone, Lekki International Airport, Alaro City, and even the Imota Rice Mill have transformed the region into a booming economic hub. These projects didn’t just appear overnight; they are the result of deliberate planning and bold decisions to create enabling environments for growth. By attracting both local and international investments, the government has effectively generated employment opportunities for over 10 million Nigerians. When the Lagos Coastal Road is completed, it is projected to create even more jobs potentially lifting millions out of poverty and significantly improving the quality of life for countless families. Yet, many people fail to appreciate the macroeconomic impact of such long-term investments. They focus solely on the price of rice and garri, without understanding that sustainable economic development requires infrastructure, industrialization, and strategic growth initiatives. Consider countries like the UAE, Singapore, and Malaysia. If their leaders had prioritized immediate subsidies on food and cheap fuel over investing in critical infrastructure, would they be the thriving global economic centers they are today? Their success stories were built on long-term vision, not short-term populism. Unfortunately, in Nigeria’s case, decisions like introducing fuel subsidies rather than using those funds to build refineries and develop core infrastructure have left the country struggling with underdevelopment. This misallocation of resources is one of the reasons why many young Nigerians feel compelled to “japa” in search of better opportunities abroad. True economic progress is not about quick fixes or temporary relief. It’s about making hard, strategic choices today to secure a prosperous and self-sufficient future tomorrow. |
Racoon:Of all these things you mentioned here, its only Anambra State Fire Service & State Secretariat that was actually done with Anambra state funds. All the rest are Federal Government, Tetfund and MDG projects. None is PO's initiatives and they are too basic and mediocre projects for someone projected to be the messiah. It shows he lacks vision to initiate and finish projects that can transform the lives of Nigerians. |
abiolert2:You are just an enemy of progress! Ibom Air last year alone, generated N96 billion in revenue. Do you know how many people that are employed in Ibom Air who are able to earn a living and take care of their families? Its people like you that prefer a Governor to put the money in the bank where only him will benefit with nothing on ground for other citizens to benefit. Always applaud good steps and initiatives once you see them, not clap for people with zero idea other than saying they save money. Is governance about saving money or improving the lives of people? |
samogo1:Politicians all over the world commission projects sir. Project commissioning is the official launch, opening, or handover of a completed project. How comes you celebrate when Otti commissions a project but have issue when its others that you don't like that are commissioning it. |
vincenteger:Why didn't you say Otti is only doing his work? You come here and praise Otti who hasn't done 3% of what Wike has done in 2 yrs in FCT, but are quick to say he's doing his work. Why didn't all the previous FCT Ministers also do their work? Wike is very outstanding and if he continues at this rate, Abuja could make it to the top 20 most beautiful cities in the world. I live in Lagos and work in Abuja, and I can tell you that the work Fashola, Ambode, and Sanwo Olu did in Lagos combined together is not up to a quater of the projects Wike delivered in FCT in less than 2 years. Only those who've lived in both cities for years and have traveled to both cities frequently recently can relate. |
Ikaeniyan0:Their movement is like a cult. They declare fatwa on you once you have a different opinion. |
NOGRUDGES:What kind of primitive people do we have in this our social media space. Everything is meat, both lizard rat snake monkey the first thing that comes to mind is meat to eat for basic survival. Is that how bad the country's economy is? The govt needs to do something really fast about this. |
Ikaeniyan0:Is it not the same guy that turned to criticise Tinubu and in his last interview in Arise he said Tinubu is a failure and he won't support him in 2027 yet these guys have no chill!! |
agulion:Mention just 1 thing not two that GEJ did for SS people in his 6 yrs in office. Lets stop this stupid tribal politics that the politicians are throwing at us. If your tribes man is their and didn't do anything it won't benefit you. |
That's clearly a staged accident! The front is intact the steering didn't squeeze all other parts of the car body wasn't impacted, the airbags didn't go off. De Play! |
The 30km road was commissioned for public usage. So are you saying Nigerians should wait for the 700km to be finished before we start using the roads? This mumu man does not know that the road is section by section. Just imagine the relief it will give to Lagosians living around the Lekki axis, as they don't have to use Lekki Epe Expressway any longer as they can use the coastal road to decongest traffic. |
kettykin:Thats the Trans-Saharan highway. Its currently under construction. |
free2ryhme:Build the party how It behoves on Peter Obi to show leadership by galvanizing the people. But he clearly lacks leadership that is why everyone is jumping ship. BAT was in AD, he was the only one and didn't have 1% of the popularity PO enjoyed, but he galvanized his base and kept attracting people and eventually got all the SW state Govs, Senators and house of reps members. That shows he's a leader, and he keeps increasing his ranks. But wen you are not a leader, and you have no leadership direction, your followers will leave and go else where. |
bestman09:Bro, I am equally from Anambra, and I can tell you that this is a self inflicted injury upon ourselves. I started warning about this since 2016 when MNK started his rhetoric. They called me all sorts of names. Our people prefer to leave in denial than to accept the reality that this nzogbu nzogbu stupidity has caused grave damage to us. My uncle I once had an argument over his support for ESN was eventually killed by these same boys he was supporting in his filling station in Ozubulu. We buried another of their strong supporter this past April. He traveled home hale and hearty and attended a burial in Alor. On his way back, he was kidnapped by this criminals totured collected ransom and they still wasted him. We the igbos do politics of emotions not what will benefit and bring development to us. Biafra in 1967 -1970 killed over 3 million people. Since we started this agitation, thousands of igbos have been killed and are still being killed on a daily basis. Tell me just one thing we have benefited from Biafra apart from death and destruction of property? It is high time we reconsider this thing and tell ourselves the truth, because no one knows who will be the next victim. My uncle was there strong supporter but he still ended up a victim. |
Appletek:Its sad. Who are the dummies leading us? Every unit fighting in this war is supposed to have nothing less than 500 drones with at least 50 to 100 deployed round the clock monitoring the troops and to detect any incoming drone and bring it down. This must be at the unit level. You must also use the drones to go on the offensive. Use the drones to attack the terrorist and dislodge them. |
naijapikin2: ![]() You self wetin go make you want go fight with Evil Spirit ![]() |
Ucheamani:You are ignorant! Blood transfusion has saved millions of lives from untimely death. Even your anitbiotics or malaria drugs have side effects and you are pre-warned. So cos of the possible side effects of anti-biotic you'll assume it is unsafe to take them? Make it make sense! |
MaxInDHouse:Did god say you should abstain from Blood transfusion? The abstain from blood means do not eat blood or eat an animal that is not slaughtered. Cannibalism involves eating human beings which is a sin. But you can accept organ transplant which is not a sin. If you can accept organ transplant then what is the difference with blood transfusion? |
Chibudom Nwuche is one of Wike's closest ally. The message is loud on where Mr President stands in Rivers matters!!! |
TallNigerian:U think Wike dem na mumu to allow am to contest for 2nd term? The beg na to allow am finish 1st term. He has ruined his chances, they have millions in their political family who also wants to be Governor. Enugu, Akwa Ibom, Cross River, & Delta Gov are all in peace with their predecessors but he decided to go rogue against someone that trusted him and brought him from the civil service to make him a Governor. |
immortalcrown:You have been to Nairobi, have you been to Abuja Nigeria? Until you go to Abuja Nigeria, don'#t even compare them. Kenya has beautiful weather and I'll choose their weather over Naija weather, but Abuja Nigeria beats Nairobi hands down. |
jmoore:But there was absolute poverty rate for 1999 - 2003. Keep lying to yourself. |
Staged!! Your wife doesn't know you installed CCTV Camera. No footage on when they entered, and why will they go and bring a bedsheet to cover themselves up while fucking in the couch plus no face show? Who does that? Anything for content! |
The can fabricate concrete to cover it. The concrete will be useless to the manhole thieves. |
eldoradoxx:What I mean is that what N1500 can buy for you in Nigeria $1 dollar can't do it in the US Europe and in most African countries including Vietnam and Indonesia where just one small bottle water we buy for N200 is sold for N1800. |
I will become a woman for that moment. Aboki oya take over! You are the man! |
The economic data presented by Pitobi are faulty because GDP per capita is a misleading metric, especially for developing countries like Nigeria. It fails to account for the local cost of living where one can survive well with just a dollar which is (N1.5K) more than in wealthier nations. It also masks income inequality, as high earnings by a small elite can distort the average, giving a false impression of widespread prosperity. Additionally, it overlooks the informal economy, which plays a massive role in everyday life and economic activity but isn't fully captured in official statistics. For real insight, analysts focus more on sectoral growth, consumer spending, trade, and employment data than this oversimplified figure. The naira’s purchasing power parity (PPP) is stronger than it appears because essential goods and services in Nigeria like food, housing, and transport are low compared with the cost in Europe America or even our neighboring African countries. Don't forget the vibrant informal sector which also adds real economic value that isn't reflected in official exchange rates. Compared to many European countries, the naira offers better value-for-money, making everyday expenses more affordable despite its weaker nominal exchange rate. |
ShitHead:Very rubbish trash of a song. What is this Gosh!!! Godamn!!! |
jamafa:The way this is going we cannot rule out a third term for Tinubu ooh. He is almost at the verge of pocketing all the powers that can raise any meaningful opposition. |
ElevationD:Delta Gov and all the house of Assembly members and Deputy Govs and local Gov Chairmen have all defected to APC how comes they didn't lose their seats? Ned Nwoko defected he didn't lose his seat. So even if the Rivers Assembly members defected, they still wouldn't have lost their seats. But note that they didn't move eventually because they are still card carrying members of the PDP. But Fubara was completely misled by Femi Falana and Ugochinyere with this decamping legislators which is weak. Fubara cannot go to APC because Wike's boy Tony Okocha is in charge of APC in Rivers therefore Wike controls both the APC and PDP in Rivers so no way for Fubara except he joins Ugochinyere APP. |
ddippset:Honestly, I don't see anyway Fubara will go for second term even if he survives impeachment to finish his 1st term. Tony Okocha is in APC and even if he decamps, he can't win the Primaries. If he stays in PDP, he can't win the primaries so the only option will be for him to go to labour party where they will surely rig him out. In Bayelsa Wike has taken over the structure from the Governor, and even if the Governor decamps, to APC, Wike's men are in charge. Heineken Lokpobori, and NNDC chairman are in charge and they won't allow the Govs candidate see the light. |
