Igbos are marginalized in Nigeria. But the question is, are other tribes better off? Poverty is the reoccurring index among all regions in Nigeria. Generally, resources are scarce and there is lack of equity and accountability in the distribution of these resources.
Every successive administration tends to follow the same pattern in distribution of resources.

First politicians at the federal level serve selves, then their federal political allies, followed by their own tribes and then whatever is left would be opened for state politicians and their allies, then the masses are left out. It’s trickle down set up, created to only favor the political class and their associate.

Not only the Igbos are being marginalized in Nigeria. Other minority groups are not better off, the rural communities are suffering, ordinary Nigerians from every tribe are feeling the same way.
The root of the problem is multifaceted. corruption and poor leadership being at the top. Secondly, Nigeria is not a rich country considering the per capital income. The last but not the least being the political structure.

Let’s take a look at infrastructure. For decades, all the federal roads that serve as gateway to the SE heartlands have been abandoned. The Enugu 9 miles. The Aba -Port Harcourt road, The Aba - Ikot Ekpne road. The Onitsha - OWERRI road. This in my opinion is deliberate marginalization with intentions to create a blockade.

The political structure. SE is the region with with 5 state . This is another deliberate and calculated way to reduce the number of elective representatives of SE at the uppers chambers.

Next is the marginalization in federal political appointments . The Igbos have the least among the 3 major ethnic groups in Nigeria. Well, it is often justified as the consequences of not aligning with ruling political parties

Political appointments shouldn't define marginalization, as they benefit only the appointee and a select few, not the wider community. Appointments are discretionary, typically rewarding political loyalty—if you don't support a government, you can't expect to share its spoils.

True marginalization should be assessed broadly, impacting the majority, not just individuals. Infrastructure, for example, is a better measure. SE roads may be bad, but northern highways are even worse—I realized this firsthand on a recent road trip from Abuja to Niger Republic. The roads in Niger Republic are far better than Nigerian roads. Instead of fixating on appointments, the focus should be on governance and infrastructure to improve lives.

That is why I said we can have a civil conversation based on facts rather than sentiments. Peter Obi's appeal thrives primarily on emotions, but the facts are he was a colossal failure as a governor. If you listen closely to Peter Obi, you’ll notice that beyond quoting statistics and making vague promises about lifting people out of poverty, he offers little substance. The real question is: How does he intend to achieve this? What concrete roadmap or strategic template does he have in place? I've watched over 100 of his campaign videos till date, and its zero.

Unfortunately, majority of Nigerians on social media are poorly educated and are not interested in hard facts but allow sentiments to influence their decisions and can die defending their biased sentiments even when faced with undeniable glaring hard fact evidence to the contrary.

Bro, Obi as a packaged Messiah is a fraud. I am igbo from Ekwulobia, my village to his village in Agulu is less than 10 minutes drive. He was one of the worst Governors to govern Anambra State. Most of the youths supporting him now are probably in Primary or Secondary School when he was governor and are not politically aware of how good governance should be. I was a young adult and had already started driving when he became governor. He's 8 years was a disaster for Anambra, and people like us are very surprised at how the narratives have changed with people thinking he's the messiah.

There's a combat footage going around where hundreds of jihadists were attacking a Burkinabe military base. What did the Burkinabe soldiers do? The sent a drone up that was giving them real time video feed of terrorist movements around the base. They then deployed a Bayraktar drone that with just 2 strikes, killed over a hundred jihadists. The rest of the terrorists got the message and fled. Not one soldier in that base lost his life. Does Nigeria not have far more money than Burkina Faso? Yet we don't even have a Bayraktar and this is something Turkey even gives for free.

The day we are ready for this thing to end it will end. But so long as people are using this thing to cash out, it will never end. Boko haram is a business the elite are using to cash out. That's the only way the incompetence of our armed forces can be explained.

There are some little improvements now though, but it is on record that when GEJ was the governor, he did not commission one single project till he left office and became the VP to Yar'Adua. They've not been blessed with good Governors, and Rivers people are taking for granted what Wike did for them in transforming Rivers state to what it is today.

This project are good, but this politicians will leave human development that would have positive impact. Road projects are usually inflated to suit the people in office and you won't understand except you are a professional in that field. Why are they all focusing on Road because efcc can not trace any loot to it.

Create an environment for people to thrive in business, give tax incentives and encourage SME, improve the education, provide seeds and fertiliser to farmers that will generate income which can build such roads, schools etc.

That's what people want to see and hear in developed countries and not infrastructure.

In the FCT today, over 50,000 Nigerian youths are actively engaged in ongoing projects around the FCT alone. This is direct employment from the various projects onging. It has also created several indirect employment for suppliers, market women, the people selling food to the workers on site, etc. Have you thought about the kind of busineses that will spring up after the construction and how many people will be employed afterwards? Abeg explain to me the kind of human capital development you are looking for.

Bro, I don't see them finishing that road in the next 10 years. But we have seen Wike start and finish longer wider quality roads than that in less than one year. They also did not expand the road to make it wider which is necessary for such road to accomodate the high traffic passing through it. Come to Abuja and see quality of roads Wike is doing and he delivers in months. I wish it is possible to loan governor, if Lagos state can loan Wike for just 1 year, nobody will recognise Lagos again. Imagine Lagos Badagry Express road that has taken over 17 years and they've not even gone half. Wike has started and finished roads longer and wider projects like that in just a year. Lagos state government should do better now that international community wants to start coming into Lagos to spend detty December. Fix all road infrastructures, improve security and it will be UP Lagos.
