Mike..ZA:
Sir I don't rank based on numbers. Egypt with its huge army was defeated by Israel in many wars. South Africa if threatened can build many of those Helicopters(Rooivalks),Algeria had its attack helos upgraded in SA. Nigerian weapons are obsolete and should be replaced, and Nigeria depend of foreign countries for arms. No country in Africa besides SA has ever designed a cruise missile which can be useful in taking out air fields. So African countries have to send their fighter jets abroad to be upgraded while SA can do it at home.

What is your point? Having a weapons industry or being able to use the weapons in war? Egypt is not South Africa's mate ... men and hardware-wise! Build Rooivalks as quickly and easily as you bake "vetkoek"? All of the upgrades you do are mostly under license from the Western manufacturers. Weapons wise and manpower-wise Nigeria's war records are there to be researched. With Nigeria, SANDF will suffer worse defeat than they did in CAR.

That's a blatant lie. No element in the army is sponsoring BH.

If you had said aiding, ofcourse sentiments would come into play. There are officers who have aided boko-haram, no doubt about that. However, all of those officers have been caught and court-martialled by the army. some of them are facing lengthy life sentences, while the others are still on trial.

Bros allow the guy to do his research on this same thread. All his blabbing have been addressed severally weeks and months ago!

You're full of Jokes Sir.

You should look yourself in the mirror and say that to yourself 10 times! Comedy man! Did you just stumble on this thread?

But some reports are stating that elements within your armed forces are indeed sponsoring BH.

Are you a BH sponsor?

What's this? A bunch of obsolete weapons dumped in Nigeria?. The USA is not our friend nor a enemy. Let me give you a list of countries with capable armed forces in Africa 1.South Africa and Egypt 2. Algeria 3.Kenya 4.Nigeria and Morocco. 5.Botswana.

You can't turn back the hands of time! We went past this kind of argument long ago. You such a late bloomer. South Africa can jostle all they want. We all know the top of the list. Go back on this thread to see where you belong. Not on the top three! Sorry boy!

"Security agencies".

I like the way you behave. I have come to predict it. You start off by arguing. Then you lose. Then you bring out matric and Seleka. Then you lose. Then you bring out tired one-lines. Then you lose.

Then I leave. grin

Talking about yourself in deed. Unfortunately, you aren't achieving anything trying to play reverse psychology!! That's why you are the Recycler-In-Chief. Amazing.

Again!!!! numbers can't guarantee a military victory,Example Is the DRC army which has around 150 000 personnel, but can't defeat a mere 5000-6000(estimates) M23 rebels or Israel which defeated the Arab forces in many wars with less men&less tanks. It takes 1.QUALITY equipment 2. Disciplined man. 3.Motivated man 4.funds 5.Good training ...............your army lacks a few of those.

You fail to get my point! You claim we are overstretched ... and my point is to make you to realise that we have not even scratched the surface of our full military capacity internally and externally. Enjoy your mistake!

You mean quoting a constitutional provision that doesn't exist is correction? Ok, if you say so.

Funny. The so-called stupid South Africans have built a country far better than Naai-geria. How could that be? Luck? Hmmm. I wonder.

CraigB:

The point does not change.

You have terrorists today because you are divided.

You cannot find their leader because you do not know where he is.

You do not know where he is hiding. In which country and why.

You do not know who gives them money.

You do not know who plays on your weaknesses today.

MikeZa is right - Naai-geria is too divided and Bokko Harram is a prime example of that. Even your soldiers are accused of helping BH.

In the mind of a clueless and senseless CraigB. I'm sure that sums it all up! Very interesting!

Let's agree on one thing which is there are militant groups in Nigeria, with this fact acknowledged. We all know it would be difficult for Nigeria to fight on two fronts, looking at how massively your army has been deployed to deal with a single group. So if a country was to attack Nigeria now,I don't think your army can stretch any further.

Apart from your wishful thinking ... you'd do your argument good by providing figures of our military deployments in relation to the current total size of our military. We are not a mere 40,000 - 50,000 like your military.
Foreign Affairs / Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by GidiNaijaPikin: 6:06pm On Jul 09, 2013
CraigB:

Clearly you have decided you will try and shift attention to an irrelevant issue. Matriculation. Luckily, I won't bite.

The point is simple. Nigeria is divided and it is locked in a battle for its very soul. The battle is in the form of Bokko Haram. (oh, leaving ethnic warfare aside for a moment)

Mike said very clearly that your divisions are a weakness. You do not know who fund Bokko Harram. You do not know who has given their leader refuge.

In other words, you do not know who's playing on your divisions today.

Everything else is irrelevant to the point.

You ignored the point where I called your recycling efforts out? Rather, we see a smart but dumb move to direct attention away from CraigB the recyler-in-chief and his recycling games. Well, if you choose to go the 33% route, you'll surely end up where and how you began. So stick to the bottom line ... military talk!
Foreign Affairs / Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by GidiNaijaPikin: 6:00pm On Jul 09, 2013
CraigB:

I and Bokkooo Haram it would seem. Not only do they wish for divisions. They actualy kill for them. Dozens of innocent children. Dead and burnt alive. But noooo, we will shoot the messenger today.

Just like your gangs and multi-talented criminals are killing for divisions in South Africa? We know your story! Let terrorists be terrorrists and criminals be criminals if that's what you mean? We are dealing with the terrorists while you spend time shying away from activities of your kith and kin. Need I say more?
Foreign Affairs / Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by GidiNaijaPikin: 5:56pm On Jul 09, 2013
CraigB:

Irrelevant. The point is not the length of time. The point being argued is that Naai-geria is divided today and Bokko Harram is evidence of that. Naai-geria is divided and blood is currently being shed in the name of divisions.

You are going back to your old trick book that has been discredited time and again? Derailment plans in the works South African style. No ways boy!

As usual the recyling kicking in. We can show you those nasty things in South Africa that your cameras are hiding from the world. Please don't go! Stay!

Snowden isn't the topic. Naai-jeria's not knowing who their friends and enemies are is. And then you want to debate when told that people can play on your divisions?

Commot for road grin

Foolhardiness!

Divisions by infant CraigB's decree or wishes? Several years from now, make sure you and your grandchildren come back to read this post. It will be to your disgrace and heartache that surely Nigeria will remain intact (and out of necessity may/would have expanded coasts and territories down South) with thanks to a resilient people and military force!

Yes. A federal republic that can't produce constitutional support for their argument.

This thing is easy. Simply say "there is no constitutional support for this, but we like it". End of story. We will leave you alone in the knowledge that you like things like that. Don't give us stories because we won't just sit here and lap it up.

And so does that of the US, South Africa and many other countries.

May we have the part that says he shall be entitled to wear Naai-gerian military colours, please. Where in your constitution does it say that?

We are the Federal Republic of Nigeria and not the USA or Lesotho or South Africa! You are in no place to reinterprete our Constitution fron the general and codified way we have always understood and accepted it since 1999.

Abeg park one side!

YOU need an education.

AndrewZA, asked: Does GEJ have military training? You responded: He has done paramilitaries.

The point is: Obasanjo is military. He will be military till he dies. GEJ is not.

The second point is that your country clearly is stuck in an era. No one there seems to know what civilian rule is. You confuse the role of commander-in-chief for that of a general.

Interest in Naai-geria or not, those are facts. GEJ highjacked your colours.

May we have similar pics of GEJ, in the military as a young man.

Your warped sense of reasoning is evident. Did President Olusegun Obasanjo meet the requirements to be elected CIVILIAN President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria? Was President Olusegun Obasanjo the President and Commander-In-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria from 1999? By the end of 1979 General Obasanjo was in the Nigerian Army and not the Navy. If he wore this well-fitted Naval uniform post-1999, then you need to go check-in for brain overhaul session! You lost your sense of reasoning long ago.

Show us a similar image of yourself as an infant typing away trash on a Mac computer!
Like I said I've got time to spare here ...

See Obasanjo's pics below.

Foreign Affairs / Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by GidiNaijaPikin: 5:04pm On Jul 09, 2013
CraigB:

Oh, GEJ can wear his uniform alright. Just don't come here and tell us he's allowed to do so in terms of your constitution, because there's no such provision.

Also don't come and tell us "Nigerians don't have a problem with it" because some Nigerians do.

If you people are happy with a civilian president playing general wanna-be, just say so. Don't give us a thousand false explanations. And trying to shift the focus to the tired CAR topic won't help. Just accept who you people are and be happy. No South African will bother you after that.

Keep reading with your head down-side-up! The Constitution is crystal-clear the President is the "Commander-In-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria" ... and our Commander-In-Chief has his uniform to show!! Like or hate ... it's your headache. And Nigerians have no problems! Except wannabes like CraigB who needs to put his brain right to get the explanations as clear as it has always been. We own our destiny which by no means can align to the bitter thoughts from CraigB and company.

Shikena!

souldust: the situation isnt what you think. The reason you think these people are big problem for nigeria is that; Nigeria is treating them with kid gloves.

Remember, the issues that led to them croping up do not really require a military solution. If, however, the FG sees that arming some groups is what you are trying to do, you give the FG the best excuse to use its might to dismantle any militancy.

But dont go believing that Nigeria is divided. The truth is, we are not! Politicians from the north, south, east or west; christian or muslim or ATR do sit together to drink palmwine and laugh at the stupidity of anyone who thinks the country would disintegrate. We know this very well becos we see them. How else can you explain that a country that was predicted to disintegrate even before independence has survived for over 50years of political independence and 99years as a single entity?

Let them talk. Super Eagles go soon play another match and you go see Nigerians from North, South, East, and West inside the same stadium, hand-in-hand, side-by-side sitting and jumping and jubilating in our national colours! Divided indeed! Who give dem the knife?
