A consolidated group of militants under the aegis of Joint Niger Delta Liberation Force (JNDLF), which claimed NDA was its member, threatened to launch six missiles in the Niger Delta region.

Such questions plagued me, and so I got down to investigating this email. What I found is some interesting information that I would like to share with all of you.

cop@vsnl.net is an official Id of Chennai police. At a certain point in time this Email ID was good and functional, and it was indeed helpful to those who had lost their mobile phone. This Email ID received recognition as it was mentioned in a news story run by ‘The Hindu’ newspaper detailing how Chennai police is seeking to help out its citizens. Windows 10 is a significant download of almost 6GB which means you can right click on the folder to see how far it has progressed.

That said the size of the download has also prompted some users on capped broadband plans to complain that they have no control over when the new operating system downloads. Something which is also a complaint with its forced automatic updates once up and running.

The flipside to the argument is stealthily downloading Windows 10 to computers over days or even a week means Microsoft can distribute it more smoothly. This is important when it has stated a long term goal of getting Windows 10 onto over one billion PCs. It also reduces the bandwidth crush on launch day had it opted for manual downloads, especially with Microsoft belatedly admitting some users may have to wait weeks.

Of course whether you should be part of the day one upgraders is open to debate.

Windows 10 finally strikes a strong balance between the familiarity of Windows 7 and the advances of Windows 8, but a major upgrade is already planned for October (likely called ‘Windows 10.1’) and the initial release is far from bug free.

Windows check for updates between 17 hours to 22 hours. I have reduced it to one hour. So that i can get my updates quickly.

Are you expecting window 10 updates or just like your system to update quickly. Well we are in the same shoe. My date for win 10 July 29 and I have been thinking on hotels to go or cafe. But I want it quickly. The below may be a guide.


Make Windows computer check for Windows Updates more frequently
RECOMMENDED: Click here to fix Windows errors and optimize system performance

The Windows operating system is set to check if Windows Updates are available periodically. By default, such checks are set at every 22 hours. In practice however, the checks may take place anytime between 17.6 hours and 22 hours.
Automatic Updates detection frequency

You can, if you wish, make your Windows 8 check for updates more frequently. The same applies to Windows 7 too. To do so, open the Group Policy editor or gpedit.msc.

Click on Local Computer Policy > Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Windows Update.

Here from the left side pane, double-click on Automatic Updates detection frequency.

This setting specifies the hours that Windows will use to determine how long to wait before checking for available updates. The setting is not exact. While you may set an exact time, the check will occur anytime between the specified time and up to 20% before that time. This means that if you set the time at 20 hours, the check will take place anytime between 16 hours and 20 hours.

The default status is set at Not Configured. If it is set at this or at Disabled, Windows will check for available updates at the default interval of 22 hours.

If the status is set to Enabled, Windows will check for available updates at the specified interval.

Click on Enabled to change the time. From the Options available, change the time to check for updates at the following interval in hours.

Once done, click Apply/OK.
