Religion / Re: Anti-tithers Are Playing On The Intelligence Of Nigerian Churches by gise: 7:57pm On Oct 19, 2014
Where did Jesus say pay tithe? How does tithe benefit god? Do u Christians follow the exact guidelines as set in the bible for the tithe in my opinion black people tend to blend the old with the new in the old African cults you had to bribe gods and make offer rings to priests and so called witch doctors to be blessed . So now this new thing comes along and says Jesus was the ultimate sacrifice but the black man mind no fit stan dis ting so tithe was kept to replace all the animal sacrifice and the pastor could replace the dibia and the babalawo or whatever

Religion / Re: If Jesus Is God, Who Was He Calling Father??? by gise: 6:26pm On Oct 19, 2014
When Paul lived the only bible was the tanakh and god was invisible and a spirit. Torah was not to be added to and no human was to be equated with Yhwh . Followers of Paul added to the tanakh with their new testament and Muslims and Mormons came along with their own books. Paul had no basis for making Jesus god and Jesus had no basis for claiming to be god not even miracles because other Jews did miracles in the tanakh and none of them were God

Religion / Re: The Law Was Nailed With Christ, Why Hold On To Some? by gise: 6:08pm On Oct 19, 2014
The law was given to Israel not the world. The law was given for the land of Canaan. The law was to be eternal
Religion / Re: The Law Was Given By Moses But Grace And Truth Came By Jesus Christ by gise: 6:04pm On Oct 19, 2014
Yhwh made a covenant with avraham to give his descendants land and he gave those descendants rules to follow to continue to live there unless you are a descendant of avraham or u join them and keep that covenant which is eternal you have no share in that land. That is the so called old covenant. The new covenant is that Jesus died for our sins so we can go to heaven and not hell and burn for ever a consequence yhwh never gave to Abraham's descendants exile from the land is the primary punishment
Religion / Re: My Resume By Jesus Christ by gise: 5:48pm On Oct 19, 2014
God is not a man Jesus was a man so he was not god if he was god who was he praying to? Jesus acknowledged god was greater than he he said to pray our father so if he was the son of god so too are we sons/daughters of god Adam had no father or mother so he trumps Jesus who had a mother who was herself a descendant of Adam god is everywhere all the time everywhere at once Jesus was only in Palestine and had to walk from one place to another Jesus even said people would do even greater works than himself no one can be be greater than god so again Jesus was not god. God by the way in Hebrew is Elohim and this. Word does not mean how we have come to see it there are many Elohim and they are not all supernatural any one in authority is an Elohim the Elohim of Israel said he was god and there was none beside him
Religion / Re: For God So Loved The World by gise: 5:30pm On Oct 19, 2014
A sacrifice is a loss that u don't recover yhwh did not lose Jesus the dude who let his son drown was also Christian why didn't he jump in the ocean himself and drown with his son? Also the same bible u believe in says everyone will die for their own sins.

Religion / Re: Questions For The Athiests by gise: 5:12pm On Oct 19, 2014
Well I won't say I'm atheist but I'all apply logic. First its possible there was always something never nothing 2 good would be whatever is positive to society not what a god decided because a god could make any action good just arbitrarily 3 our purpose is to live and our destiny is what we strive to make it

Culture / Re: The Resentment between Blacks and West Africans over Slavery by gise: 4:42pm On Oct 19, 2014
On the issue of did not come to get us ,really I don't see how this would've even been possible .The tribes in Africa had no navy comparable to what europe had.alot of slaves were kidnapped and trafficked to the coast from deep in the interior and there was no way for there family to get them back. Also there was no "us" you had tribes and clans no idea of black or African unity existed I am African American and I know that what ever tribes I descend from also sold slaves or owned them and when I say tribe I mean language group for example Hausa or Wolof or Igbo Now it is curious that people from the SlaveCoast area would be the most antagonistic towards slave descendants. I'm not disssing I'm keeping it wan hun'id Naija was the SlaveCoast its likely that majority of us have a little Naija in us. Not saying we are mainly from there or giving out percentages to get shot down. Finally and I know this was long . We African Americans identify similar to it was said Nigerians do 1) immediate household 2) extended family 3) neighborhood/borough/ward/housing project or side of town . State as a whole and U$A as a whole come dead last. The arrogance the drive to succeed is also similar. You do seem to care more about education than my folks. And yes indeed lastly if I'm not mistaken don't other Africans sorta look down on Nigerians the way people look down on Americans or Jews ?

Culture / Re: Corporal Punishment: A Significant Part Of The African Tradition? by gise: 5:43pm On Oct 11, 2014
In America there are gangs like crops and bloods which one joins by being beaten I know in African American culture beating children was seen as proper especially with a belt an extension chord or a switch small branch from a bush but I don't see its benefit if you can encourage good behavior by shame and honor to self and community

Culture / Earlier Appearance Of The Name Nigeria 1799 by gise: 5:28pm On Oct 08, 2014
I was just messing around on Google books and I found out that there is a book called a new universal history of the religious rites, ceremonies and customs of the whole world. Anyway it mentions "Nigeria" or "Nigritia" and this was in 1799 the man responsible was William Hurd. Now for those not in the know Nigritia was the name for any land near the Niger . This would make most west Africans and their descendants Nigerians like it or not and show also that flora Shaw and lugard only popularized the name. If any one of you think this is rubbish a beg please check googebooks .:-)
