A distraught corps member deployed to a school in Port Harcourt for her service year, narrated how she was rejected because she refused to sleep with a man she met at the school who is supposedly the proprietor.

The alleged school's proprietor had promised her an accomodation and leisure in her service year, but refused to sign her acceptance letter after she rejected sleeping with him.

Instagram user @di.zire who shared the story, also revealed that the man threatened to tell NYSC authorities that the corps member rejected the Primary Place of Assignment (PPA) herself. She wrote;

I was minding my business today as usual, then i hear my friend going on and off with this babe on the phone. He was trying to calm her down. After over thirty minutes on the phone, he explains that she went to her PPA which is a school in portharcort today and the man she met there said for him to accept her letter she would have to sleep with him and they would be doing so as she serves in the school, promising her accommodation and that she wouldn't have to come to work everyday.

I called her back, asked if she was okay, still in tears she said no, and explained the same thing my friend had explained. He threatened her saying that he would say she rejected the PPA herself.... My dear thought that would be an issue and was pleading but still refusing the offer and he refused to accept the letter, sticking to his condition. I told her to just go straight the secretariat and make a complaint and that she should be happy about the rejection letter. It doesnt matter who makes the rejection.

At least she's out of that ridiculous school. She wants to be taken out of that local government because she says its a small town, the schools are close and they have links with eachother. But then yet again, who knows what perverted soul she would meet at the secretariat and disregard her complaints? What about the female students in that school, are their parents aware of this perverted fool they placed their children under. Who knows how many students are being sexually harassed. . .

The Delta State Government has finally pulled down the two structures serving as the Okotie-Eboh Primary School l in the Sapele Local Government Area of the state from where a pupil, Success Adegor, was sent home in March for the failure of her parents to pay her examination levies.

It was gathered that the Head Teacher of the school, Mrs Vero Igbigwe, who was suspended for allegedly collecting unauthorised fees from the pupils, had been recalled.


The deplorable state of the school attracted public attention following a viral video in which Success was protesting the decision to send her home due to her parents’ failure to pay her second term examination fee.

Igbigwe was suspended by the state government after the then Commissioner for Education, who is now the Secretary to the State Government, Mr Chiedu Ebie, visited the school on March 18, 2019.

When PUNCH Metro visited the school on Thursday, it was learnt that the pupils had been relocated to the neighbouring Okotie-Eboh Primary II to pave way for the reconstruction of their school.


It was observed that the one-storey building and the bungalow housing the classrooms had been demolished for the construction of a new block of classrooms.

Our correspondent reports that construction is at the damp proof course level with the work expected to be completed in September when the new academic session will begin.

One of the workers on the site said, “We started work about two weeks ago with the demolition of the two buildings. What we are constructing now is one-storey building with 10 classrooms and offices.

“The major challenge we are facing is the rain; the job is expected to be completed before the commencement of the new academic session.”

It was gathered that the suspended school head, Igbigwe, was recalled to her duty post at the beginning of the third term.

An official of the State Ministry of Education confirmed the development but declined to give further details as he was not authorised to speak on the subject.

The source explained that the panel of enquiry earlier constituted by the state government had submitted its findings, which had not been made public.

When contacted, Ebie declined to speak on the matter and directed our correspondent to the new Commissioner for Education, Mr Patrick Ukah.

Ebie said “Why are you calling me? In what capacity are you calling me? There’s a new commissioner there now. That’s why I am asking you in what capacity you are calling me.

“The last time you called me was because I was the commissioner. You didn’t call the SSG at that time. Call the commissioner please.”

However, efforts to reach Ukah proved abortive as repeated calls to his telephone line rang out as of the time of filing this report.

On certain occasions, these supposed r*pe incidences happened years and even decades ago, just like the viral stories of Mrs Busola Dakolo versus Abiodun Fatoyinbo – the COSA Pastor accused of assault by the former.The incident brought up a lot of reactions from different people. Some people where busy asking “why she didn’t speak up earlier”, “why now after almost two decades?

I would love to say this, ” just because an unfortunate victim doesn’t voice out immediately about an assault doesn’t mean the allegations are false”, the way she expressed herself might seem untrue but the fact is that there is a r*pe case here, so it will be better to be aware of such incidence to avoid future occurrence than to make some excuses.

Without a doubt, there are numerous reasons why victims of r*pe may dither to stand up following such occurrence:

1. Society will, in general, accuse the unfortunate victim predominantly the female folks, for what befalls them.
Some will say that it’s the ladies who throw themselves on the man especially if he’s a good looking man. The others will even give excuses that the Guy is human and can be tempted backing it up with an opinion that “body no be wood”, without considering the fact that consent is really important in such act. In some recent cases of r*pe the unfortunate victim was accused of trying to bring down the man. This is very insensitive due to the fact that the action itself has already caused a damage to the victim, why not consider the pain and the agony he/she is passing through as a result of the assault.2 There’s an obsolete social conviction that decent ladies don’t get assaulted. Such convictions can make the victim to believe that the r*pe may have been their own fault. Individuals ask unfortunate victims questions for example, “Why were you in that place at that time?,” ” why did you wear seductive dress at the time” and “Why did you go to that person’s room?” Such inquiries can move the fault to the victim instead of the culprit however such hypothesis can’t stand in the assault case between Busola Dakolo Vs COZA Pastor – Abiodun Fatoyinbo as the unfortunate victim affirmed that the Pastor strolled into their family house when her parents were absent and assaulted her.3 Due to the way people will react, speaking up about a r*pe incident can be agonizing and can cause the victim humiliation, shame and segregation in the society. Sometimes the society view this victims as if they are some sort of evil spirit and will always use the r*pe incident to describe the person anytime any day.
4 It’s especially troublesome if a victim is accusing a powerful individual in the public arena or somebody who has control over them. They hardly speak up due to the fear of being attacked or killed by this powerful people and so for some reasons, the victims may feel that it could be simpler to attempt to proceed onward from the assault without speaking up with the hope of healing on their own but in most cases you find out that it becomes very difficult for them to heal totally unless they open up, reasons why some cases are been reported after several years. The psychological effects of r*pe is very difficult to handle alone.

5. Last but not the least, most of these r*pe victims usually get victimized by somebody they know very well, which can make it harder for them to speak up. This is the reason every parent should be involved in the growth of their children, don’t be to busy not to teach them about sex education, how to be bold enough to express themselves and strong enough to fight for their lives, ensuring them of their safety in your hands. Watch out for those pervert uncles, cousin, relations, close family friends, neighbours, mates, lesson teachers etc, nah them. The predators are also within.

The Lagos state police command have arrested 27-year-old suspected serial fraudster, Ramon Oshodi, who is well known for hacking into peoples’ bank accounts through their phones, Automated Teller Machine, ATM, cards and their Facebook accounts.

According to the police, Oshodi was arrested on Thursday June 27th by a team of Anti-Crime Patrol attached to Mushin Police Station, Olosan-Mushin, Lagos, after he had successfully swindled his victims to the tune of N4.5 million. He was on a motorcycle at 7:30a.m when he was stopped by policemen who conducted a search on him and found on him, five ATM cards and SIM cards belonging to different individuals on him. Also found on him was N91,000 cash.

When interrogated, Oshodi narrated how he hacks into his victim's bank account and steals their money. According to him, whenever he steals any of his victim's phone, he removes the SIM cards, works on them and, thereafter, hacks into their bank accounts. He told the police that he buys stolen phones and ATM cards from the ghetto at Akala-Idioro, Mushin. He also revealed to the police that he hacks into people’s bank accounts through his access to their Facebook accounts after getting their date of birth, which some of the victims used for their various bank accounts.

Oshodi upon his arrest, has been arraigned before a Lagos Magistrate’s Court sitting at Ikeja, Ogba on a seven-count charge of conspiracy, breach of peace, fraud, stealing, receiving of stolen properties and unlawful possession of ATM cards.

He pleaded not guilty to the charges and was given a bail of N300,000 with two sureties in like sum. The case has been adjourned till July 25th for mention.

Multiple people were injured at this year's San Fermin festival in Pamplona, Spain.

Three people were reportedly gored during the first bull run at the annual San Fermín festival in Pamplona.

The second bullrun was also not without incident. Photos from the festival show a heifer bull jumping over participants in the bullring after the second bullrun.

The participants can be seen bending over in terror to avoid being gored by the beast.

But Instagram users were not so sympathetic with the injured and they called them out for engaging in sports that endanger animals.

Popular comic actor, Hafiz Oyetoro, aka Saka, recently celebrated the 16th anniversary of his marriage. The ever-smiling and charismatic actor, who also teaches English and drama at the Adeniran Ogunsanya College of Education, Ijanikin, Lagos, in an interview with our correspondent, disclosed that he met his wife, Olaide Saidat, when he started teaching at the college in 2001. She was a final-year student of the institution at the time.

“The day I met her for the first time, she came to submit her final year project to her department. She studied Mathematics at the college. She looked very quiet and composed. Immediately I felt that she might make a good wife. I had never felt that way about any woman before. The more I looked at her, the more I told myself that I would like to make her my wife.”

Sixteen years after, the actor still could not tell if he had fallen in love at first sight on that occasion.

“I can’t really explain what happened, but I just knew that she was a good wife material. The first thought that came to my mind was to marry her.

“When I made some inquiries about the lady, I learnt that she was the quiet and introverted type. Later I did a little digging into her background. It took some time to attract her attention and to talk her into starting a relationship with me. We eventually got married in 2003,” he said.

Before Saka met his wife, he was already involved in a relationship with a woman, who was so materialistic that she agreed to marry him only on condition that he would buy her two cars.

“I didn’t need anybody to tell me that she was not my wife,” he said.

Like most actors, especially the types with the ability to make women double over with laughter, Saka was naturally drawn to women in his days at the university. Although he lays claim to having a number of girlfriends, not one of them was willing to dabble into a romantic relationship with him.

“In those days, I had quite a number of girlfriends, but my relationship with each of them was not romantic. As a theatre practitioner and one who was quite popular at that, I made friends easily with both men and women. But when it came to asking them out, the women never took me seriously because of my position as an artist,” he said.

By the time he met his wife, the comic actor added, he was already 37 years-old and ready to settle down to married life. “As a matter of fact, I had searched for a wife without any positive result. At a point, I got tired of searching and prayed that my future wife should begin to search for me herself. That was the period I met my wife,” he said.

Asked why he did not get married before the age of 37, Saka explained that he was too busy getting education, struggling between jobs and building a successful career to bother about marriage. “I wanted to get to a position in life where I would be able to take care of my responsibilities without troubling other people,” he said.

Saka also had his fair share of heart-breaks in the past and one particular experience taught him a hard lesson about life. Describing what happened, he said, “I was in secondary school and involved in this relationship. My girlfriend and I was quite an item in school. We were so close that people always talked about us. Once, we had a little misunderstanding and I asked a friend of mine to talk to her about it. Little did I know that he had a different agenda. The boy ended up snatching my girlfriend from me.


“I really felt bad about it and it took me some time to recover emotionally. That experience taught me to be very strong and to always prepare myself for any situation in life, good or bad.”

On the success of his marriage, Saka said, “The best thing that can happen to a man is to get married to a woman that shares his vision. My wife shares my vision. We have almost the same views about life and she allows me to be in full control of our home. Another important factor is that since I got married I have never had an extra-marital affair. I have never slept with another woman.”

THE Senate has begun probe into the case of a serving lawmaker, Senator Elisha Abbo PDP, Adamawa North who allegedly slapped a nursing mother repeatedly at a intimacy gadget shop in Abuja.

Against this backdrop, the President of the Senate, Senator Ahmad Lawan has set up a seven- Member Ad-hoc Committee to Investigate the matter and report back in two weeks at Plenary.

Announcing the Committee, Lawan promised that the Senate will be responsive and responsible, stressing that it will continue to remain the Senate of the people. Resolution of the Senate to set Up the Committee was sequel to a motion by Senator Uba Sani, APC, Kaduna Central.

The Committee is chaired by Senator Sam Egwu, PDP, Ebonyi North. Other members of the Committee are Senators Oluremi Tinubu, APC, Lagos Central; Matthew Urhoghide, PDP, Edo South; Stella Oduah, PDP, Anambra North; Danladi Sankara, APC,Jigawa North- West; Sani Musa, Niger and Daudu Haliru Jika, Bauchi Central.

Recall that Senator Abbo, who defeated the respected Senator Binta Garba, to emerge as the winner of the Adamawa North senatorial district, was seen assaulting the woman in a video posted by Premium Times The assault, which reportedly occurred on May 11, 2019, was done in the presence of an armed policeman who rather than assist the victim, arrested her.
