Well I actually gained a whole lot watching #BigBrotherNaija#BBN for the first time and this includes the following:

1: 240 million votes came in for big brother this year (I hope i heard right because there was a bottle of corona in my hand and right now I’m not sure if it was the corona or Ebuka that was talking), so I stand corrected. However let’s assume that what I heard was correct, that figure is petrifying.
Let’s put this into perspective; Sowore, Moghalu, Eunice Atuejide and Fela Durotoye COMBINED, did not get 100,000 votes. Another angle is this: Since each person can vote multiple times in big brother, it would still take 240,000 people voting 1,000 times EACH (who the hell votes 1000 times when its not like you are sharing the prize money or voting was free�), before we can arrive at the 240million figure.
I am praying hard that it was the corona that was speaking to me, not Ebuka, because if the reverse was the case then we are doomed! Unless the next election is conducted from the big brother house there is not the foggiest hope in hell that a young candidate can win.

2: Mercy wins an Innoson SUV valued at 25 million Naira

How can a locally made SUV be priced that high? I would say 7 million or 10 million, at the most 15 million but N25M Once again I’m hoping it was the corona talking not Ebuka. Because I ask myself, would I walk past a 2016 GLE coupe (yes that Benz with the curved yansh), a 2017 Range Rover Sport, a 2017 GLS450 or a 2016 Lexus LX470 (the new shape o) and decide that it is an innoson SUV that I would purchase at a similar price value simply because I want to ‘buy NIgerian’, NO SIR!

I’m not in anyway undermining the good work of the people at Innoson, however they should get tax cuts (if possible no taxes), interest free loans, import wavers and more government support in order to help drive the prices down to about N15 million Naira max, which in my personal opinion is much more reasonable for a locally manufactured product.

A police officer serving at the B Division in Asaba has allegedly shot a female colleague dead in Asaba, the Delta State capital.

The PUNCH gathered that the killing occurred on Saturday during the demolition of illegal structures at the Bonsaac area of Asaba by the officials of state Ministry of Environment in company with some police officers.

It was learnt that trouble started when the market women tried to resist the exercise.

An eyewitness said that on hearing gunshots, the women charged at the firing policeman and that in the process, a bullet from an accidental shot from the policeman hit his female colleague at the back.

The suspected killer cop, it was learnt, had been detained at the State Criminal Investigation Department.

The source said the policewoman was rushed to the Federal Medical Centre Asaba where she was confirmed dead

He alleged that one Chief Bidi “has been molesting market women for a very long time and wanted to forcefully drive them from a plot of land they rented and set up caravans, paying the owner of the land N2,000 monthly rent for each container.

“He brought a bulldozer and connived with the Divisional Police Officer in B Division who deployed four armed police officers to the premises to supervise the pulling down of the caravans.

“Having pulled down the source of their daily bread, which was neither obstructing vehicles nor water flow, the women demanded that the caravan at the landlord’s premises be pulled down too because he had informed them that the demolition was authorised by the Delta State Ministry of Environment.”

The state Commissioner of Police, Adeyinka Adeleke, who confirmed the incident on Monday, said investigation was ongoing.

He said, “The matter is at the state Criminal Investigation Department, Asaba, so we are waiting for the report of the incident”

Meanwhile, Bidi has told our correspondent that the killing was accidental discharged.

The Kano State Police command has arrested a 25-year-old man, Salisu Idris, for allegedly setting fire on a house which killed a couple and their daughter because he was promised the sum of N200, 000.

Spokesperson of the Command, DSP Abdullahi Haruna, who confirmed the arrest, identified the victims as Aminu Bala, 50, his wife, Rukayya, and two-year-old daughter, Aisha.

"The Kano State Police Command wishes to intimate the good people of the State that on the 25/09/2019 at 0300hrs, an official incident report was received that the resident of one Aminu Bala ‘m’ 50yrs old of Gayawa Yamma Village, Ungogo LGA was set ablazed by unknown persons. The victims were removed from the scene to Murtala Muhammed Specialist Hospital Kano, where Aminu Bala, his wife Ruqayya Bala ‘f’ 30yrs old and their daughter Aisha Bala ‘f’ 2yrs old were confirmed dead.

The suspect, in conspiracy with two others who are now at large, reportedly locked the house before setting it on fire, having confirmed that his targets were inside. The incident occurred last Wednesday September 25.

While parading the suspect before newsmen, the spokesman said that the suspect was tracked down and arrested at his hideout in Minjibir Local Government Area by the operatives of Operation Puff-Adder. He was found with various degree of collateral burns on his body, signifying his clear involvement in the arson attack.

Speaking to newsmen, the suspect who sold mobile phones at Farm Centre GSM market, confessed that he was promised the sum of N200,000 by a “business friend” of the deceased, who sells poultry feeds at Sabon Gari market, Kano, to burn him and his family members to death.

“I have never committed such a crime. I was offered N200,000. I did not even know the man. I just accepted the contract through my friend. He just told me that the man is selling poultry feeds at Sabon Gari market and promised to give us the money if we successfully accomplish the mission. I sustained this burns because he asked me to pour petroleum on the building. After he lit the matches, the fire swiftly caught me before we ran away. I did not lock up the doors of the house and I did not see my friend doing so during the attack. I really regret my action. I am pleading for mercy,” the suspect confessed.

Mr Haruna vowed to nab the man that sponsored the arson and the other suspect within a short period of time, stressing that they would face the wrath of the law.

"The Command therefore call on good citizens of the state to continue cooperating with the Police for timely and prompt rendition of information and intelligence on any form of crime and criminality across the length and breadth of the State for quick and timely response" he added.
