THE Nigerian Institute of Training and Development, NITAD, has approached the Federal Government to focus more on handling issues of ability holes, which is in charge of the high rate of joblessness in the nation.

The President and Chairman of NITAD’s Governing Council, Mrs. Janet Jolaoso, said findings have shown that many graduates are jobless because they lack required skills.

Jolaoso, who spoke ahead of upcoming 25th Annual Trainers’ Conference in Enugu, said the trend of unemployment will continue unless government addresses the issue of skill gap.

Jolaoso, who was represented by the Chairman, Annual Trainer’s Conference, Mr. Oluwaseyi Kuton, said they have approached all the necessary Federal and state ministries to introduce ‘Finishing School’ so that students can acquire necessary skills in their area of specialisation before they graduate.

“We are encouraging it to start from secondary school level because some of these students have talent they are born with and at that level it can be identified and introduce them to various skills that will help them along their educational career.

This year gathering will concentrate on using the entrepreneurial mentality to address aptitudes gad in the Nigerian economy," he clarified.

David Oluwatoba a randy 57-year-old man, has been jailed for 14 years by an Ado Ekiti High Court. For raping a four-year-old step daughter.




Delivering her judgment, Justice Toyin Abodunde held that the prosecution has proved the case of rape beyond reasonable doubt considering the weight of evidence before the court, adding that the prison term started counting from the day of conviction.

The gory event occurred on 12th June, 2017 at Odo Usi Street, Awo Road, Igede-Ekiti in Irepodun/Ifelodun Local Government Area of Ekiti State while the convict was first arraigned in court on 27th July, 2017.

During the trial, exhibits tendered to convict Oluwatoba included photographs, medical report on the sexual assault, and the statement of the accused at the police station, among others.

The convict is married to two wives including the mother of the victim. who is the second wife. The victim was a product from a previous marriage before her mother married the convict.

We tell them to allow God to announce them like God is going to come down from heaven to pick up the microphone and shout their name.

A father of five, Austin Segun, who firmly tied his 13-year-old child to a window burglary for three days on the grounds that a Church pioneer said the kid was a wizard, has been given a final offer to leave Eruemukohwarien people group, Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State.


Mr. Segun was said to have been released on bail after he was arrested and detained at the Ughelli ‘A’ Division Police Station over the incident. The victim, Tobi Segun, who just finished his Primary 6 School Leaving Certificate exams, was rescued by a group of vigilante, who heard him whimpering at about 2a.m.





How The Boy Was Rescued

One of the vigilante members, who rescued the victim, told Naijcrackgist that during their routine night patrol, they heard the faint cry of the boy saying he wants to die and that he can no longer bear the torture.

The vigilante member, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said: “Immediately, we alerted the community Youth Chairman and others. When we gained access into the house, we saw the boy alone, tied to the window protector while his hands were tied behind him.
.
“Though the parents were not at home, the landlord called the father on phone while the community Youth Chairman alerted the DPO of the Ughelli ‘A’ Division, who personally came and arrested the suspect.”

Confirming the incident to Naijcrackgist, the victim’s step-mother, Mrs. Edijala Favour Segun, said: “They told us that he is a wizard at a Church we went to for prayers and he also admitted that he is a wizard. “At a point, my husband had to use a hot iron to burn his palm and feet owing to his misbehaviour. Despite this, he opened the fridge in the house and ate everything.

“This led to my husband tying his hands and legs to the protector. He had just been tied for three days before we were arrested. “On that day, our landlord called us on the phone that we should come back to the house. On getting home, we were faced with a crowd that started hitting my husband and me.

“After some minutes, the Police came and arrested my husband, while I was asked to take Tobi to the Ughelli Central Hospital for treatment. “My husband was able to secure his release, but the IPO in charge of the case ordered that we should move out of the community. This was documented and we all agreed to it including leaders of the community.”

Relating his difficulty to Naijcrackgist, Tobi stated: "I generally keep running from the house since I am not happy. My mom is dead and the lady here is my step mother."

The Nigerian Army has conceded feeding the general society with bareface lies over the kidnapping of NNPC staff by a group of Boko Haram in the Lake Chad Basin on Tuesday, 25 July.

The Army had claimed in a statement on Wednesday through its spokesman, Brigadier-General Sani Usman that all the abducted staff of NNPC had been rescued by soldiers during a search and rescue operation in the area. He added that only nine soldiers died during the ambush.

To counter the lies, the Abu Musab al-Barnawi led faction of Boko Haram released a video on Saturday showing some of the abducted NNPC staff begging the Federal Government to negotiate with the sect for their freedom.

Also, forty-eight corpses of persons killed by the terrorists during the ambush on Tuesday were brought to the Maiduguri Teaching Hospital in the Borno State capital on Thursday.

The corpses brought include 18 soldiers, 15 Civilian JTF, five university staff and four NNPC drivers.

Two people have been affirmed dead and a few others basically harmed in an electrical upsurge in Anguwan Biri in Bosso Local Government Area of Niger state.


Alhaji Ibrahim Inga, Director-General of the state Emergency Management Agency (NSEMA) disclosed in Minna on Sunday that the incident occurred on Saturday as a result of a power surge resulting from contact between a 33KV line and distribution line in the area.

He said that a middle-aged man, Alhaji Mohammed Tetengi and 8 year old Ayomide Micheal died in the incident and several people sustained various degrees of injuries.

Inga said that three persons were currently receiving treatment at the Minna General Hospital.

He said that officials of the agency have visited the scene to conduct an assessment on the level of damage, adding that the remains of the victims have been buried according to Christian and Islamic rites.


DSP Bala Elkanah, the Police Public Relation Officer in Niger, told NAN that properties worth millions of Naira were destroyed in the incident.


He gave affirmation that examination would be done to decide the real cause of the incident.

Episode one of the fourth season, which is tagged “Point and Kill“, focuses on the notorious activities of miscreants on Nigeria’s highways.


It treats the menace of mischief makers on highways who pretend to be good Samaritans only to rip commuters of their hard-earned money and valuables.


“Professor Johnbull” drama series which is set in the coal city of Enugu, and is sponsored by Nigerian telecommunications giant, Globacom, makes a debut on TV screens across the country on Tuesday, July 19.


The star-studded comic drama series also features Nollywood veterans Mercy Johnson-Okogie, Chiwetalu Agu, Yomi Fash-Lanso and Ime Queen Nwokoye in its episodes.


Others are Bishop Okon, Funky Malam, Bimbo Akintola and Bidemi Kosoko.


Nigerian hip-hop artiste, D’banj also stars in the movie, alongside popular comedians, O.C. Ukeje, Bovi, Mama G and Helen Paul, among others.


It is broadcasted from 8.30 p.m to 9 p.m on Tuesdays and Fridays on NTA network, NTA International and on Star times.

Not less than eight people were killed and 14 others supported wounds in Friday night suicide bomb assault in Dikwa Local Government Area of Borno.


The incident occurred on Friday when two female suicide bombers hit an Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) camp in the area.


The Chairman of the council, Alhaji Rawa Modu, confirmed the incident to newsmen in Maiduguri on Saturday.


Modu, who visited some of the victims, said that the suicide bombers infiltrated into the camp and detonated explosives.


“Two female suicide bombers attacked the 24 Housing estate at about 9: 30 p.m on Friday.

“Seven persons died on the spot and one other died in the hospital, while 14 other persons were receiving treatment at the Specialist Hospital, Maiduguri.


Modu said that the council had distributed metal detectors to members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) to enhance security at the camp.


The Police and military specialists were yet to remark on the occurrence.
