A 39-year-old husband, Ibrahim Anifowoshe, on Friday told a Lagos Island Customary Court while seeking dissolution of his 12-year-old marriage that his wife denied him sex, disrespected and embarrassed him in the presence of his friends.

Anifowoshe, a National Union of Road Transport Worker (NURTW) official, told the court that his wife, Modinat embarrassed him at his workplace in the presence of his colleagues.

“I want the dissolution of my marriage with Modinat because my wife denies me sex; for two years now she has stopped performing her sexual duties to me as my wife.

“She has no respect for me and my family and embarrasses me everywhere.

“I was almost beaten to a pulp by a mob because my wife and her younger sister saw me on the street and started shouting that I was a thief.

“There were some people who knew me in the area that delivered me from the hands of crowd that had gathered and started beating me up.

“My wife has stopped allowing me come to the house and has seized the key to the house from me.

“I have tried to talk to her but to no avail; she insults members of my family who try to mediate.

“I do not love her again and I pray the court to separate us, order her to leave the house that I rented and give me my children since she is not ready to change from her troublesome ways,” Anifowoshe said.

The wife, Modinat, a mother of three who roasts and sells plantain, denied all the allegations that her husband levelled against her.

She said that her husband was the wicked one, who did not take care of her and the children.

According to her, he steals the proceeds that she makes from her petty business

“Whenever we have any disagreements, my husband will come to my shop to destroy the things I use for roasting my plantain.

“He does not take care of me and our children; I married him and had the children when we had nothing and I believe now that he is working and has money.

“The children and I should be well taken care of.

“I do not want to be with him anymore; I also want a dissolution, but I cannot leave my children for him, I will do all that I can to take care of my children.

“I just pray the court to compel him to continue to pay their school fees.

“I do not allow him to come into the house because he usually forcefully pokes his hand in my private part and has injured me several times,” she said.

After listening to the two parties the president of the Court, Mr Saheed Lawal, said that the children’s welfare and well-being were of utmost importance to the court.

“The fact that the two of you are not at peace with each other does not mean that the children should suffer. Their upkeep and education must be well taken care of,” he said.

Lawal urged the two parties to maintain peace and adjourned the case until Nov. 21 for judgment.

Yinka Ayefele has opened up on why he kept the news of the birth of his triplets from the public.

In a new interview with Vanguard, Ayefele said, “yes, I even denied it once when it happened. When the news broke a lot of people were talking about it because my babies were very tiny because they were born prematurely'.

"So, I was afraid to broadcast. I did not want to lose them after the long wait and according to a Yoruba adage that says if you broadcast a child you might lose the child, so, I decided to keep it within the family until they are fully grown and healthy.

“That is why I denied it when the news got out. But my partner told me not to be afraid, that God, who gave the kids will surely protect them and that was when I came out to tell people. I was initially afraid of how they looked, very tiny, thank God today they are big.

“It was hard to keep it a secret. A lot of colleagues in the media knew about it but I told them to hold on till the right time to broadcast it. I tried as much as I could to keep the news from getting out, I did not release any of their pictures,” he said.

He confirmed that the triplets; two boys and a girl were born on January 18, 2019 at Holy Cross Hospital in the USA. He also explained how it felt like, from the moment his wife was confirmed pregnant till the time the babies arrived.

“It was stage by stage. Are you asking me when we first went for the pregnancy test or when the pregnancy was a month, 3 months, 6 months or 9 months, or during labour or the day my wife gave birth? I can’t explain it each month from the 8th day she was confirmed pregnant. I most ran mad when I heard she was pregnant.

“I could not believe it after series of attempts. I didn’t know who to explained it to, but the night she gave birth it was as if I have seen them together before because I have followed her to many scan sessions. It was like welcoming them fully that night. I can’t really tell how I felt that night,” he said.

Speaking further, he said he could not believe his eyes when his wife got pregnant and was full of gratitude to God when the triplets were born as many had thought he could never have a child after 22 years of marriage.

“I don’t mind having triplets, even if I can go as far as having 20, I really don’t mind because the pain of looking for a child was so aggravating. It wasn’t easy going to mountains for prayers, going to different hospitals, both at home and abroad, doing one test to the other.

Then she went on to add that, 'thanks to everyone that reached out,I am safe and fine but i still need to point out some things due to some stupid comments I saw about me not giving them money'.

After giving the location manager 10k to settle anyone that might give us issues in the market wey shot first,I personally gave one of the guys that disturbed us earlier extra 5k.

When we proceeded to the estate that dis whole brouhaha happened,I gave Broda shaggi some money to give this guys when he’s leaving,then one of the idiot said how can we give them dt kind of amount that he should give dem 50k,broda shagi had to add extra 10k to the money I gave him earlier from his pocket to give dem,this idiots refused ,and u expect me to do what?
