Politics / My Stance: Rochas Okorocha A "Wolf In Sheep Clothing" by Gistmeust1: 9:02am On Jun 03, 2019
#MyStance

#Okorocha_The_Statue_Erector

Just a quick one before i #Rant about COSA vs DAKOLO.

Okorocha was a "man after the people's heart" little did they know he is a "wolf is sheep clothings"

We saw pictures of the current state of State house Owerri, Imo state here on Nairaland few days back.

Rochas Okorocha after attempting to mortgage the future of the state and almost turning it into "family affairs" (maybe he needs to be reminded once again that Imo is not Saudi) which he failed, has not only shown his high level of hatred for the Imo people but revealed how incompetent he is in managing the state allocation.

"My people, my people; my governor, my governor" in Okorocha's voice!

My people, your governor, Okorocha is gradually moving his personal effects to Jos. That is, gradually relocating to his private residence in Jos, capital of Plateau State.
#AruEme!!! Like our boys would say "I DON HIT AND RUN". This is the case of Imo and Okorocha.

Okorocha thought he would be the Senate president of Nigeria but he was spanked by His cohorts (Adams and Tinubu) along side his #Iberibe Akpabio using INEC. Who Unlike others, were neglected simply because of the selfish Adamic nature.

"For the Lord disappoints the devices of the crafty so that their hands cannot perform their enterprise"

Instead of working for the state he was busy buying awards and erecting statue which is not what the people need at the moment.

After denying EFFC arrest, you will be re-arrested in few days. Shey handover is over, Ihedioha is coming for you!

"There shall be no peace for the wicked"

Sports / My Stance: Anthony Joshua Did Not Imitate Dino Milaye by Gistmeust1: 8:47am On Jun 03, 2019

#AnthonyJoshuaDidNotImitateDinoMilaye

Yesterday being June 1, I was reflecting on the hurdles Senator Dino Milaye went through some years back, this happened after I read on the news that the senator had declared his interest of being the next Kogi state governor come 2023. Also, How he escaped bullets and even jumped off police Van was amazing.

I was yet to conclude that the best comes only when we don't give up on ourselves; before I got a notification that ruined my night.

Quickly, I rushed to pickup my phone and guess what, it was from the news giant, Vanguard and it read; "Andy Ruiz knocks out Anthony Joshua, takes three world titles".

Oh my God! This can't be true! I said.

I became furious that i didn't bother to read the whole news but went straight to YouTube with my little data to watch the highlights of the match. There it was, OUR Joshua down like our Data providing companies.

While watching the clips, I noticed that A.J. was weak. He was reluctanct in fighting Ruiz. I was skeptical in attributing it to Over Confidence. But again, i thought it could be a staged fight. Yes it was.

Anything contrary to these, i would say that A. J. gave up easily unlike Senator Dino Milaye. A. J. underrated the Nigerian blood running in his veins.

While vexing because "this guy, A. J. don fall our hands", I learnt Serena Williams also lost. Though am not a fan of her kind of sports.

What actually gladdened my heart was how A. J held Ruiz like they never had a fight.
It reminded me of the 2015 general election. How the former president Goodluck Jonathan conceded defeat after losing to president Muhammadu Buhari.

Then the sayings came to my subconscious " the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favour to men of skill; but time and chance happeneth to them all"

"He who fights and runs away, lives to fight another day"

Family / Nothing Replaces Family Not Even Friendship - Girlsletstalk by Gistmeust1: 7:31am On Aug 14, 2016
Looking out of the window with an indifferent expression, I can see a little child walking down the street with a tin of ketchup. I look around the room with the hope of getting some succor from my quilt but no, it wasn't coming.

Remembering how it used to be in the days past, I can hear my dad say "be careful daughter... The future of this family is in your hands".
I'd shrug my shoulders and keep a hard face.

With a sigh now, I never imagined the room would be this lonely. They have all gone. To do the place where the air smells of gold.

Trying to fix myself in his heart, I feel it may be wrong or right. He's just the one I'd love to be with.

But with tears running down my eyes, I remember.. They are all gone... The friends, the family, the relatives and all they were.

I don't know where they went to but I just woke up and realized I can't find any one here and then, it dawned on me... "I'm all alone"

No one's listening... No one's around... Everyone's busy...
Everyone's moving so fast that my legs are beginning to hurt. What's going on? Why's no one waiting for me?

It's way too much to keep it to my heart. I'm beginning to love him in ways I don't want to. He seems to be the only one who cares.

What do I do? You tell me... What do I do?

It's the feeling of that little girl with a torn heart and a battered life.....

Nairaland / General / What To Do If Your Mother In-law Rejects You? - This Will Help - By Beauty Igweh by Gistmeust1: 12:25am On Aug 01, 2016
I can gladly say that no woman or man on earth would want her/his marriage to fail. This is because nothing in life hurts most than broken/failed marriage. I could remember a neighbor we had then, each day she and her husband will quarrel, shout and finally
they went part ways. Each time they quarreled the man tells her “my mum warned me never to marry you but I didn’t listen. All because I was blind by love. Now I see what she saw”

“In the best of cases, parents-in-law are far away but firewood and water close-by.” (Mongolia)

“Praise the well that swallowed your mother-in-law but don’t drink from it.” (Andalusia)

“A mother-in-law tastes sour even if she is made from sugar.” (Spain)

“There are as many good mother-in-laws as there are white crows” (Serbia)

“The mother-in-law at the door is like a coat next to a thornbush.” (Albania)

Getting married into a home where you are not at peace with your husband’s mother then be ready for “gbege” (war) as your home will always be on fire in spite your husband’s love towards you.
Many Nigerian women find themselves in homes where they turn out to be outcast –
1. Get to know why the rejection.
Your mother in-law to some extent cannot reject you if there nothing has gone wrong. Even if she is a witch. Knowing her reasons can give you a guideline on how to tackle such issue.
2. Find a way to resolve it by talking with your spouse
3. What he thinks about his mother’s attitude matters
Many guys are like “I am just confused”
If your husband has nothing to say about the issue my dear look disturb him until he tells you what he is thinking about the issue. Is he making any effort to resolving it or he is just in a confused state?
4. Seek for a counselor
I don’t advise seeking advice from friends especially those that are not married. You can go to professional, or better still your pastor. A family meeting should be organized.

Hope this helps.

Feel free to add your own tips.

Health / What Happened During My First Menstruation, My Experience – BY Beauty Igweh by Gistmeust1: 8:15am On Jul 31, 2016
By Anonymous:

Last week I stumbled on a television program where a girl was asked what age she thinks was the right age for a girl to start seeing her menses.

Today I thought it wise that I should share what I called “the ugly incidence” experience which happened in 1998. I hope you don’t mind if you share yours too.

As a young child who was still growing I knew nothing about personal hygiene nor
Menstruation when it comes to “woman”. Coming from a family where my parents were all concerned about “what to eat” and not counseling female children on what to expect when they get to a certain age.
At the age of thirteen, I had a friend named Amaka. Amaka was two years older than I was. Each morning we would go and fetch water together.
One morning Amaka and I were on our way home from pump (a borehole close to a nearby street where we normally fetch water). I was behind her, as I looked close at her gown I noticed that her gown has been drenched in blood (she was bleeding) and when I quickly brought to her notice so I could know what the problem was but she said she had no idea of what is happening to her.

As kids our childhood days was fun until that faithful day when the Ugly Incident occurred. As kids we would abuse each other while others will laugh to the peak of their voice. In-fact I was the comedian, I mocked my fellow kids.
Until one faithful afternoon while playing with other children in our compound, I sat on a bench with other children as we are on our normal yarbing business. As normal some were laughing, some were supporting me because they didn’t want me to face them while others were against me expecially one of the kids named Okon.
As we continued I heard a call from my mum - Mum will never call you more than two and if she does then you should give her something in return (beating). As I stood up from the bench to answer mum, blood started rushing out from behind down to my legs. The children began to shout “eheh! So you are a blood sucker”. Okon called me a witch.
Immediately mum came and took me inside, cleaned me up and gave me a piece of cloth to use as an absorber. For weeks I didn’t come out to play with other kids as they will never stop calling me blood sucker.

If my mum had told me earlier that as a woman something like that will happen to me at least I would had told the children but I knew nothing about it.
Please I advise young mums like me to tell our children what they stand to experience as they grow up so what happened to Amaka and I do not happen to them.

Feel free to share your own experience during your first Menstruation.

Education / Rsust: Students Resist Increament On Price Of Satchet Water by Gistmeust1: 8:17pm On Mar 12, 2016
A mime drama occurred today as some students and occupants of the popular Hostel F and G Male hostel in Rivers State University of Science and Technology, Nkpolu, Port Harcourt resisted the increment of sachet water popularly known as pure water from the usual selling price of 10naira to 15 and 20 naira respectively by hawkers. The incident led to some of the pure water hawkers been ordered out by the students for refusing to sell at the usual price.
Our reporter gathered that many of the students questioned the rational for the increment since a bag of the said sachet water sell for 130naira, and as such, the dealers could still maximize profit at that rate.
They therefore argued that such move was merely exploitative on the students while accusing the hawkers of taking an undue advantage of the current economic hardship in the country to the detriment of the students who live on campus.
The students who also used the medium to express their displeasure over an earlier increment in the price for photocopying of materials which increased from the usual 5naira to 10niara, accused the Students Union Government (SUG) body of not doing enough in addressing and protecting the welfare of the students mainly, those who live on campus. The students therefore insisted that the hawkers has a choice of either selling at the usual rate or stop selling on campus.
Meanwhile, some of the water vendors on the campus who spoke to our reporter maintained that the increase was as a result of the increase on the bag of sachet which hitherto sold for between 100naira and 120, but has since risen to 150naira.
It will be recalled that the price of sachet water within the university and its environs recently increased from 10naira to 20naira for the 50cl. Pack.

Education / Students Lament Over Suspected Lassa Fever Rat by Gistmeust1: 10:12am On Feb 24, 2016
With the rising fear of different epidemiology in the world which Lassa fever is one on the top of d list and the fear of witchcracy in Africa, it was a pandamonious morning today as students in F&G Hostel ensured they killed a rat that became a torn in the flesh of some students. The said rat had already eaten the hands of 3 students in different rooms of F&G hostel and after its operation today, it was killed and burnt by the no nonsense F & G boys. According to them, "if na witch, the person don die today but if na Lassa na God hand we dey". In respect to this, students are advised to keep their environs clean at all times and also endeavour to always cover their food. We at gistmeust will never stop keeping you updated as we are here to help make RSUST a better place.
