'Chief Obasanjo sleeps with wives of his sons and has no control over his pen!s even at over 80'' Mrs Obasanjo makes shocking allegations in new statement.

13B TOPE ADEBUTU GAVE ALL THE MONEY SHE AND MY SON RECEIVED DURING THEIR WEDDING TO HER MUM AND IT WAS THEIR JOINT MONEY SHE USED IN BUYING AN APARTMENT FOR HER MUM AT PARK VIEW, IKOYI:

After Tope handed over all the money she and my son received at their wedding to her mum, my son gave her another 1.5million again on 21st of August 2017 with a cheque she cashed on the 24th of August when she complained to my Son she was broke again. My son spent Six million naira (6m) on her and her mum to go on honey moon.

He gave her $5,000 five thousand dollars for her birthday, gives her N100,000 every month for monthly allowance and she will still abuse my son that she wants N300,000 monthly allowance and that my son is
a poor man, that is apart from the N50,000 my son spent weekly on buying her fast food, because she doesn’t cook. Any time she comes back from work all she does is to go to sleep and when she wakes up,
she will start giving order to my son like a master to a slave.

13C. ABUSIVE STATEMENTS:

Tope Adebutu humiliate my son with derogatory and deeply hurtful
statements e.g. My family only bought you for me; Obasanjo family only has name no money, I am a rich woman and the best woman in the world for you, you cannot get another rich wife like me. You cannot
run away from me or marry another wife, I will kill you and damage your life.

I will make sure my father and your Dad destroy you and you die, after saying all these to my son, she
will call on my son to come and have sex with her, my son will run to his room and lock up himself there... this is the genesis of the cocaine allegation because my son will lock up himself in his room for
fear of being killed by his wife Tope.

On one occasion my son was speaking to my Twin brother Chief Kenny Martins on the phone, she found the door to my son’s room opened, she entered and started slapping, beating my son and shouting on
him that he is talking to a woman- Kenny Martins heard all the abuses and beating on the phone. Many times my Twin brother Kenny Martins had settled many violent quarrels for them and he said he is tired of their many fights; Let Kenny Martins put his hand on the Bible and swear in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ that all these are lies.

14.ON SEGUN ADEBUTU: Tope said my son should not be visiting him that they are not of the same mother, that he is a drunkard, a smoker and a drug addict, that her Dad is just wasting and concentrating all his money on him, that Hon. Ladi Adebutu is brainless, that she is more qualified to be a Governor than her brother Ladi, that her dad is using much of his money to buy position and fame for Ladi Adebutu and Segun Adebutu, whereas she is very intelligent and a beautiful lady; that Segun
Adebutu is sleeping with her father’s wife, this is what she tells everyone one behind her brother....part of the destructive and hateful bitterness in the nature of Tope and her mother.

Mother and daughter spend their lives spreading evil, deliberately speaking damaging things about those who do good to them. It is a big tragedy, a big sorrow, a lifetime lesson for us and l shouted loud
enough for the whole world to hear and l warned publicly enough about this wedding.

15.ON CHIEF KESSINGTON ADEBUTU: Tope Adebutu said her Dad does not take care of her mum or spend any money on her mum that she is the one using her money to look after her mother. That her father is a bad man, only spend money on outsiders and his sources of money is evil money, she said her mother will deal with her Dad’s youngest wife and the two lovely, adorable Twin boys of her Dad, that her dad cannot make love to a woman again yet he is going about with a young wife, the age of his
daughter and the same Tope is secretly seeing her 80+ years old father in law Chief Olusegun Obasanjo.

16.ON CHIEF OLUSEGUN OBASANJO: Tope Adebutu said he is just a big man with name only, no money, that he doesn’t help his children, that she does not know what he does with all the money collected from her family, that she bought the Agbada dress Chief Obasanjo wore on her wedding for him, that her Dad is the one now sustaining Obasanjo’s family with his money, that Chief Obasanjo’s two unmarried daughter’s goes to do prostitution in the house of Segun Adebutu and bring back money for Chief Olusegun Obasanjo.

That all Chief Obasanjo’s businesses are down, that Segun Adebutu sponsored Chief Olusegun Obasanjo's birthday with N100m which he sent through his unmarried daughter who went to do prostitution there with her brother, that Chief Obasanjo collect money from Hon. Ladi Adebutu and Segun Adebutu regularly 150m, 100m, 50m, 80m, 25m, that her father donated huge money into the presidential library of Chief Obasanjo to the tune of 10 billion naira.

That with all the money collected from her family by all the Obasanjo’s family, my son cannot run away or divorce her that he must stay in the marriage and continue to Bleep her. That even the wife of Chief Obasanjo living with him also collect money from her Dad regularly, that it is her Dad's money that is sustaining the Obasanjo’s family.

17.ON CHIEF OBASANJO: He is a shameless, evil, wicked, psychopathic, sadistic man who destroy lives, cheapens his family, strip his family of dignity and self respect, has no pride, he is a materialistic and
mercenary father who sleeps with wives of his sons and has no control over his penis even at over 80. He would sleep with a woman and pass them on to his son for them to marry at all cost and if they now refuse or choose to opt out of the marriage, he would start fighting them dirty, do all to destroy them.

18A.ON MY SON ABRAHAM OLUJONWO OBASANJO: Tope Adebutu, Rosemary Dacosta who is Tope Adebutu’s mum and Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, all three of them have all vowed to destroy my son
should he try to get out of the marriage to Tope Adetubu or should he seek for divorce.

My son is hiding from Tope Adebutu; he received death threat every time on account of this marriage, I also receive death threat from them and they said that I am also a cocaine addict because I talk to the
press. Three months ago they called me that if I don’t stop talking to the press they will go on Social
media and tell the whole world the damaging lies that my son is a cocaine addict. Sometime Tope will
break down and start crying and beg my son.

My son is not a cocaine addict neither was he ever in any rehabilitation centre. My son was working and living in his father’s palatial hilltop residence before he ran out. The king of Owu Town in Abeokuta, all
the SSS, Protocols, Steward, Cook, Security men of his dad, all family members, his driver, office workers know the character and the behaviour of my son, he was never a drug addict. A cocaine addict cannot
be hidden, everyone will know because they need money and they cannot do without cocaine.

How come all members of Obasanjo’s palatial home, office workers, drivers, SSS in the house around his dad don’t know, cooks, stewards, who clean his bedroom which he doesn’t lock, his wardrobe is left
open, his bags are left open; my son only started locking the door of his bedroom when they move to a bigger apartment at the Hiltop residence of chief Obasanjo when his wife started giving him advance warning that she will kill him and nothing will happen. How can any sane man stay around a mentally unstable woman in a home where she kicks, slaps and order my son to come and Bleep her after insulting and abusing my son, her mother also phone to abuse and threaten my son.

The truth is when my son ran away from the Hiltop residence of Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, Tope Adebutu, Rosemary Dacosta and Chief Obasanjo gave my son hell, the three of them wanted to kill my son, they will phone him with death threat, my son’s businesses were cancelled, his job and salary frozen, my son’s jeep was seized by his dad. Why do these evil to your son? Why? Why? Why?, just because he is running from a wife that wants to kill him.

18B.FOUR MILLION NAIRA (4M) THEY SAID I COLLECTED FROM CHIEF KESSINGTON ADEBUTU: Tope
Adebutu and Rosemary Dacosta said I collected four million (4m) naira from Chief Adebutu and ran away, he is alive, he can confirm that I never took 4m or 1m from him. On the two occasions I visited
Chief Adebutu I went with my family members to seek for means of reconciling Tope and my son. On One occasion I visited Tope in her mother’s home, her mother treated me with contempt.

MY SON DIDN’T MARRY TOPE FOR HER FATHER’S MONEY AND AT NO TIME DID HE ASK CHIEF ADEBUTU FOR MONEY: On the 23rd of March 2018 when he went to see chief Adebutu it was to tell Chief Adebutu he does not want anything to do with Tope Adebutu again. Chief Obasanjo, Chief Kenny Martins, Chief Akanle and a host of others pressured my son to accept Tope and marry her......would a man who is interested in his wife's money be running from her and wants to divorce her when he is eyeing her money.

Tope Adebutu and her mum has been telling everyone that her father has been giving Chief Obasanjo money ranging from 500m – 10 billion naira and that two unmarried daughters of Chief Obasanjo sleeps in Segun Adebutu house to do prostitution and collect money from her brother for Chief Obasanjo, that Chief Obasanjo has collected 300m naira from Hon. Ladi and Segun Adebutu and he bought a jeep for one of Obasanjo’s wife and that Obasanjo’s wife at home also collect monthly money from her father Chief Adebutu regularly and she also give them money too. That all Obasanjo’s families are hungry people, always begging for money from the Adebutus.

18D.TOPE ADEBUTU, ROSEMARY DACOSTA AND THE CALLOUS EVIL FATHER CALLED CHIEF OBASANJO:
They are taking advantage of the peaceful, respectful nature of my son to hound him into submission to
Tope his wife which is very strange and then use him for sacrifice to advance the ambition of Tope
Adebutu to quickly have her promotion accelerated to become Chief Judge of Ogun State which is a
secret deal between her and Chief Obasanjo.

18E.CHIEF OLUSEGUN OBASANJO IS THE ONE PUSHING TOPE ADEBUTU; to tell the world my son is a
cocaine addict in order to ruin my son and tarnish his public image because for the 1st time, my son
dare to disobey him, he said he will ruin my son unless my son returns to a killer wife who is threatening
his life in a marriage of terror, torment, humiliation and disrespect.

18F. JOURNALIST COULD PLEASE CONDUCT A QUIET INVESTIGATION AND THEY WOULD KNOW MY
SON IS NOT A DRUG ADDICT; and it was through Tope we got to know that Chief Olusegun Obasanjo collected billions from Chief Adebutu and finally Chief Olusegun Obasanjo secretly kept Tope Adebutu in
his presidential library where he lives now for over 3 months seeing her late at midnight hour between 12 and 3am.The pain, humiliation and agony my son went through in the hands of Tope Adebutu and
her mum is beyond words, it was when they saw that my son won’t submit to their threat, Tope Adebutu started begging my son and sending love massage through email, so that my son will come back and they will secretly kill him.

19.MY SON BY NATURE IS QUIET, PEACEFUL, RESPECTFUL, KIND AND GIVES ENORMOUS RESPECT, HONOUR AND AFFECTION TO HIS DAD CHIEF OLUSEGUN OBASANJO AND IT IS HIS PEACEFUL NATURE
THEY ARE EXPLOITING ON HIM .When I heard the enormous ill-treatment, threat, attack and battle on the life of my son from all fronts when he decided he was no more interested in his marriage to Tope, I
cried every time with pain and was sick for a whole month and lost so much weight because I have never seen why so much deadly attack was launched on the life of my son simply because he said he wants divorce and all these battle and attack were orchestrated behind the scene by Chief Olusegun Obasanjo and carried out by Tope Adebutu.

20. It is when my son runs away from Tope Adebutu to get away and hide from the torment, cruelty and torture he receives from her and he goes to stay quietly in the hotel all alone by himself not with a woman, not that he hates Tope or that he is an irresponsible husband.

21.TO EXPLAIN MORE ON THE TWO VISIT TO CHIEF ADEBUTU: I still repeat Chief Adebutu is alive; there was no time I ever went to him to collect money from him and l ran away.My two visits to Chief Adebutu was to reconcile Tope and my son, where he said I offended him because I took him to court and he said the fine I will pay is to give him a cow and at my second visit, I took the cow to him.

It was when family members of Obasanjo heard that I was trying to reconcile my son with the wife, they now told me that I should never do that, that they wonder how out of all the women in the world, it is
an evil violent woman we choose for a good person like my son, they now told me the full horror my son was experiencing in the hands of this girl Tope, I broke down and cried, cried, cried with agony in me and
I was very ill for over two months, crying and could not eat well, l was always saying to myself like l was in a trance... how can a human being be treated like this by two women and he has a living father that everyone fears and defer to, because of the terrible things l heard she did to my Son, I didn’t go back again to see Chief Kessington Adebutu on hearing the total truth about the serious ill treatment she
gave my son

22.CHIEF KESSINGTON ADEBUTU HIMSELF KEEP HIS DISTANCE FROM THE MOTHER OF TOPE ADEBUTU: He doesn’t allow Rosemary Dacosta to come to his house, or his office or near him at any meeting or social gathering, he doesn’t allow her to call him on phone or speak to him anywhere because he knows the wild, violent and disrespectful, destructive nature she exhibit and every member of the Adebutu’s family and the public knows that Rosemary Dacosta the mother of Tope has mental
problem which she has passed unto her daughter and which was unknown to us and why would anyone want my son to stay married to a mentally unstable wife with an equally mentally unstable mother who
always threaten to kill him
.
23.MY SON IS NOT MENTALLY SICK: They said he is a mental case that is why he runs away from a wife that wants to kill him. A perfect human being will run from a situation that wants to snuff life out of
him. On the "12th of June 2017" my son discovered a knife under the bed which Tope his wife put there to use to kill him in the night while sleeping.

My son is running and hiding from a woman who is always hammering on killing him, This running away habit my son inherited it from me because I also ran away many times from Chief Obasanjo’s house,
90% of my marital life was spent running from Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, I was most time happily at my mum’s house, abroad or on the mountain praying because that was where I got my peace and joy from.

Chief Obasanjo didn’t drive me from his house and life, I voluntarily chose to run away from him and stay all by myself like my son is now running away from Tope Adebutu on account of the horror and torment he receives from her, my son’s marital life was a life of terror, pain, regret and constant sorrow something he had not experienced or bargained for. After the death of Stella, Chief Obasanjo wanted me back again.

And it was one day 1:00am midnight, I ran out of his Hilltop residence in Abeokuta because of the bitter quarrel we had which l will not disclose to the public, my departure that night was witnessed by everybody at the Hiltop and I ran back to Lagos and never went back again, it was after that Chief Obasanjo went to bring in his current wife. People said l was a mental woman because l left a famous, rich, influential man and am l not afraid he will cut me off from his inheritance?

l was not afraid to depart from the horrors of his large home and famous life. So my son simply inherited this running away thing from me which is just a survival instinct of running away from grave matrimonial
agony that is about to send you to your early grave. 23B This Tope and her mother hates me, hate my son, hates Obasanjo’s family, and she and her
mother also hates the Adebutu’s family, because they do not speak any good about the Adebutu’s at all behind them or appreciate the enormous good they do for both mother and daughter... But I believe
too much in Jehovah the Almighty God; He would fight for us and prevail for my son and myself and truth will prevail in Jesus mighty name Amen. We did not mean any harm for this girl Tope Adebutu in
marrying her.

A word for both mother and daughter....NO ONE OR GROUP OR POWERFUL COALITION CAN MOCK THE ALMIGHTY GOD OR MAKE GOD A LIAR; NO POWER IS GREATER THAN JEHOVAH*.

For Mrs. Nneka Nwokolo, who is a 39-year-old mother of two children, with the first child, Ozioma Grace, five years and the last child, Wisdom David Chijindu, under one year, her world was shattered on June 30, when her 39-year-old husband, Mr. Patrick Ndu Nwokolo, was allegedly murdered in broad daylight in Onitsha, Anambra State by a yet-to-be identified gang of criminals.

Despite the fact that the Anambra State Police Command had confirmed the incident, our correspondent gathered that investigation had commenced with no arrest made so far. The circumstances surrounding Nwokolo’s death though still very hazy, has thrown the community into mouring as no one within the vicinity (Otuumoye Street), where Nwokolo, a trader, lived in Asaba, Delta State.

Even when this correspondent visited the scene of the incident, resident were still scared to volunteer any information as to how Nwokolo, who until his death was fondly called Onye Ogologo. It was also gathered that the father of the murdered businessman, Chief Clement Nwokolo, who in the last 25 years had been bed ridden, resulting from a spinal cord injury, said his late son was a happy and easygoing person with no axe to grind with anyone. According to him, his son was an importer, who traded on all kinds of clothing materials and had a store at Amezine Grace Line, Main Market, Onitsha.

The deceased man’s father recalled that on the fateful day his son died, he had received a distress call from his wife, Kate Ifeyinwa, a trader too, who also maintains a shop at the Main Market. He said his wife reportedly informed Nwokolo that passersby hinted her that son was involved in a fight with some group of people at the market. On hearing this, she said she rushed to the son’s shop, this was around 10am and met his absence and then ran to the scene of the incident.

But on getting to the scene, she still could not see her husband but was later told by some of the people around that an alleged notorious group members in the town, Ikanda Boys, fought with Nwokolo and in the process broke his legs and hands and then forced him on a motorcycle and took him to an unknown destination. Narrating what could have led to the incident, the father said: “The crux of the matter was that Ndu was coming to the market to pay for the goods they brought for him from Lagos.

“He had huge sums of money with him and when he got to the bridge head at Onitsha he boarded okada to his shop and along the road these hoodlums flagged down the okada man and demanded money.” But the okada man, an elderly man, pleaded with them to allow him go as he had no money on him. When his pleadings fell on deaf ears, the father said his son then stepped in and offered then N200 and the moment the group sighted the huge sum of money with him, he said they then attacked his son on the spot and in the process killed him.

“They broke his legs and hands and dragged his dead body for about two poles and dumped him there,” disclosed the father, sobbing with tears flowing from his eyes. “When the traders at the main market learnt about what has happened they shut down the market and took to the street in search of members of the group but could not find them anywhere,” he said. He disclosed that after the incident the police arrived the scene and took away the corpse and deposited it at the morgue.

He said they were invited by the police the next day to volunteer statement on the incident, but because he is bed ridden, his wife and his young brother went to the station to offer statement while the police promised to visit the family the next day. But after waiting for days with no sign of the police or news on the matter, he said he wrote a petition to the state commissioner of police, which his wife and one of his sons went to delivered at the police headquarters in Awka.

While waiting on the commissioner to act on the petition, he called on the governor of the state to take prompt action over the incident and fish out the group, which he said had been terrorising the people of the area.

For the distraught and grieving, wife, Mrs. Nwokolo, who is still in shocking and fighting hard to nurse her one-year-old son, life will never be the same again without her beloved husband, who she said was her and the extended family’s backbone. A graduate of Business Management, who hails from Akamkpisi Nri in Anaocha Local Government Area of the state, she disclosed that since graduation in 2007, she has never done any work but that she is a full time house wife depending solely on the husband. “My husband is the breadwinner of the entire family.

My father-inlaw had a spinal cord injury since1996 and since then has been bed ridden, going from one hospital to the other,” she lamented. She also confirmed the narrative offered by her father-inlaw, pointing fingers at the suspected criminal group. Her cry, like other members of the family, is for the murderers of her husband to be fished out and made to face the law of the land while she appeals to the state government and public spirited persons to come to the aid of her children and family as they have no one else to cater for them. When contacted on the telephone by our correspondent, the President General of Anambra Amalgamated Traders Association, Chief Okwudili Ezenwankwo, confirmed the incident, blaming the ‘Ikanga Boys’ for Nwokolo’s death.

He also blamed the state police command for the murder of the trader and other similar incidents that had taken place recently in Onitsha. Ezenwankwo, who is also the President General of South-East Amalgamated Traders Association (SEAMATA), said: “The police are in the habit of releasing arrested members of the gang. On several occasions, the leader has been arrested over criminal activities in the commercial town, including the offence of illegal revenue collection.” He described “Ikanda Boys” as a criminal gang backed by powerful people in the state, including the police.

The state’s Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), ASP Mohammed Haruna, also confirmed the incident, while disclosing that the police were on top of the situation. Although no suspect has been arrested, he said the police would ensure that the perpetrators of the dastardly act were arrested.

As one of the greats as far as Nigerian music is concerned, Orlando Julius Ekemode is a man who doesn’t need any introduction but with the wave of western influences and a society seemingly to discard its history, people like him require a share of the spotlight.

With iconic songs like ‘Asiko;, ‘M’ura Sise’ and the unforgettable ‘Ololufe’ among a long list of others, Baba OJ, as he is also fondly called, has thrilled Nigerians through the years. The still agile and gracefully-aging 75-year-old spoke to ADEDAYO ODULAJA on how his career began, musical influences, staying power and others in this interview.

The tales behind kicking off musical careers are quite interesting especially in your days. How did it start for you?

A lot of it had to do with my mum, Tinuola. She played a major role in my life and I can credit her with a lot, that is, after God. She gave me the platform to thrive having tutored me. It is not as if she could play the saxophone but she was the one that taught me the root of music. With her and my stepmum that I described as my mum’s sister, it was very easy for me. She was into weaving back in the days and as she weaved, she loved singing. And she enjoyed me being beside her as she sang. When she sang, I played my Sakara drum. That was how God said music will be my way.

It is another thing to have a career but going abroad, especially then also, must have had a twist. How did that pan out?

Many musicians used to come to Nigeria, and again Paradise and one other club, Independent Club at Okebola in Ibadan which was not far from the house of late Obafemi Awolowo. I was the one that started the club then because the man and his wife loved my music. I was the resident band and I started the afro beat there. Due to the love people from abroad had for my music, they sought after me and when big musicians come from abroad, I was the one that made way for them to perform at the big clubs in town. The contacts I maintained with many people facilitated that.

What was the first musical instrument that you mastered perfectly?

I belonged to the school band in my elementary school where we used to play every morning for the pupils to match into their classrooms. I didn’t participate much in physical exercises during this period; I preferred to stay with the band and play the drum set. Wherever the drum was, you would find me there. Some of our teachers could sing and play musical instruments. They would write music, as in real music notes, and we’ll perform them. This really helped me.

Would you say your sojourn abroad which actually took a while, affected you at all in Nigeria, regarding the growth or reduction of your fan base?

I didn’t lose touch with my fans in Nigeria. Overtime, it became difficult for showbiz promoters and corporate brands to sponsor live bands in Nigeria. And live bands usually have like eight to 12 people that travel to and from different places for the purpose of performance. Perhaps, staying abroad for decades may be part of it but Nigeria music suffered with the military government’s incursion into our polity and way of life in the 80s especially. I have played music in so many places and there are some musicians that came to me that I was able to lift them up. Musicians like Jimmy Solanke, Victor Uwaifo and so many others. They were like my students and I played in so many schools and clubs. As a result, Victor Uwaifo and I became friends because I encouraged him to be original in his music. He started his music in Lagos and there is a place they used to do all the big shows that a lot of musicians would come to perform. He used to come to Yaba College of Technology then where I performed and the only reason he could come to me and perform was because I encouraged and gave him a platform to thrive.

You have been around for more than four decades. What would you point to as responsible for your staying power?

It is God, from whom all blessings flow, to Him be all the glory. That is because when He gives you something to do and it makes you happy, the story is very good to tell and also when you have good people around you. The work I did over there (abroad) when I see them it also makes me happy. Over there, they have all kinds of things to say about you because when they see, they write. It makes it even really great to talk to them so all these and others have kept me going.

How do you react whenever you hear people say you have quit music?

I love Nigeria but so much is going on here, some people don’t even know what to say about me. My type of music is what has made me very popular in Europe, in the United States and other parts of the world. The people over there follow your history and development. To be candid, they appreciate my music more over there than it is in Nigeria.

How did you come about the name Orlando Julius and the Heliocentrics?

The Heliocentrics are in the UK, they became aware of my music and they have been there to listen to lot of European music and they love my music. What brought me close to them was when I got to their studio, I saw a recording machine they were using in the UK. I was surprised and when I asked, they said they saw the recorder and decided to buy it because it had been used in Nigeria before.

When I saw it, I told them: “this is one of the recorders I was recording on in Nigeria” and they responded that I must help them because they had been hearing my name and that now that they had the recorder, I could use it any time and anyhow. That was how we became friends and they began to listen to my music. They said: “can we back you up? We want to work with you so as to make the name of our studio popular because that would be the case if it’s the name of a popular musician and I consented to it.

I love musicians who love my way of music, my culture. When James Brown came to Nigeria, that was when they just opened Premier Hotel and he performed in both Lagos and Ibadan. I was the one who sang at the official opening of the Premier Hotel with my band, Orlando Julius and His Modern Aces. I have played in so many shows. Jimmy Solanke was my backup singer as well as Tunji Oyelana. When James Brown came to Ibadan, we had the best show in town then.

You thrived at a time of so many high profile artistes, what has been the selling point for you?

My music is my music and it is original. It is not that I take songs from different people to play. The music is always interesting. I play different genres of music. I.K Dairo was my brother in those days. I ended up being the musician that always went to I.K Dairo’s house. By doing that I was able to teach him more, though not Juju, but Highlife and Afro. IK Dairo was multitalented – he could sing, dance and play instruments. My mum and his mum were relatives from Ilesha.

Among your songs, ‘Ololufe’ is easily one of the most notable, what inspired your writing that song?

It is down to the fact that I love singing songs that have to do with love, happiness and peace. I don’t sing to praise people so as to spray money on me, I was able to have all these evergreen songs because music for me is like breathing. I breathe and live music.

“Ololufe is a song about romantic love and musicians across the different eras are believed to lack control when it comes to women, would you say your case is different?

When I perform, there are always more women than men at my shows. As we all know, women love and are more easily drawn to music than men. For instance, some men would come and thank me for my song, ‘Ololufe’ and they usually say the song had helped a great deal while they were trying to woo their lovers. I did not compose ‘Ololufe’ for a particular woman; I wrote it so that people can relate to it. But of course I also wrote some songs that preach morals including ‘Osika’ and ‘E mura sise’.

There was a bit of a controversy about a song you did with Hugh Masekela who died earlier this year, can you recall that issue?

Hugh Masekela indeed was a great musician and Pan Africanist. He will surely be missed. He was able to get over drug addiction and also help others gravitate towards rehabilitation. The issue we had was that he published my song, ‘Asiko’ without my permission and I didn’t like it but that is now in the past as it happened at a time we were both trying to build our careers. No hard feelings any longer, if anything, I would say the music industry as a whole needs people like Hugh Masekela.

What have you been up to in recent times?
We have some music tours in the pipeline. We had one in April which happens to be my wife, Latoya Aduke Ekemode’s month of birth and we have plans to travel to Istanbul, the capital of Turkey for a special commemorative tour in honour of my darling wife.

Brazen and buxom actress, Anita Joseph, was once the item of salacious news until lately. The affable thespian speaks about her new life, romance and career hiatus among sundry issues in this interview with LANRE ODUKOYA.

You seem to have bounced back to the industry, why were you on so long sabbaticals initially?

Well, I’d say music made me take a break.

Many are surprised to hear that you have ‘repented’ and no longer flaunts your cleavages anyhow, how true is that?

I repented long time ago. I wear what’s proper now. I wear whatever suits me and also makes me comfortable.

You were mocked some time ago for ‘claiming’ your friend’s pregnancy, how did that make you feel?

Well, that wasn’t mockery, it was my pregnancy too. I was part of the plan for the scripture to be fulfilled.

How then do you handle critics?
I handle critics well and I adjust. No time is late to learn.

Are you planning to marry soon or do you mind being one baby-mama?
Your question is funny and I can decide not to answer you. But I choose to. Marriage comes when it comes. I’m not bothered about it. And if by any way, he shoots and I get pregnant, it’s a big congratulation to us then.

What’s your kind of man?

My kind of man must be spirit-filled, a man that fears Jehovah God. There’s nothing more attractive to me than a man that loves God. He must make me laugh, a good sense of humour is very pleasant, he must be a fine dresser and must smell good.

Could you marry an actor or a comedian?

Yes I can. But I don’t like lousy men. I don’t like a man that picks or blows his nose anyhow especially in the public. I love a man that I can fart in his presence and he will tell me, ‘well done, Princess’. He can fart too that’s okay. But too much of everything is bad oh.

So, is that man in your life right now?

Yes, of course.

What is you favourite food?

My favourite food is beans and afang soup. So, when I’m home, I’ll be indoors. I don’t do cinemas. I prefer to be indoors with my man. I have a good TV at home. I buy popcorn and Fanta then switch off the light. No cinema can give me that kind of pleasure.

What do you like most about your man?

He treats me like I am the only woman on earth and he loves God.

Hope he doesn’t feel jealous seeing you kiss and cuddle on the screen
Well, he feels jealous sometimes. But he knows it’s an act and he trusts me.

What are your unforgettable experiences as an actor?

One was when a guy tapped my buttocks. I can’t forget that day. I wanted to remove my heels and chase him. But the actress in me held me back. If not, I don’t know what extent I would have gone to teach him a lesson.

Are your butts your most cherished body part as some think?

No. To me, I don’t think so. Every part of my body is.

You are a very curvaceous lady, would you insure your body for a certain amount of money?

I’m not into such things. I might though, I just honestly don’t know yet.

The majorly all your colleagues are into movie productions, are you planning that too?
Well, for now I would say no.

What are your dressing rules?

I love dressing how I want to be addressed. I dress according to the occasion.

Can you say you are a fulfilled professional?

I don’t have everything I want right now but I’m grateful and I’m content. I don’t have it all, but I am good.

Lots of celebrity marriages are crashing; doesn’t that worry or scare you from trying out your luck?

It’s not only celebrity marriages that crash. It’s everywhere. And no it doesn’t bother me or worry me. In fact it makes me stronger and reminds me that when I finally marry I must remain married because there are wolves out there waiting to devour it.

Where do you actually see the Anita Joseph brand in a few years?

That’s when I would have moved to the permanent site.
