Politics / Oyo APC Not In Best Position To Advise Makinde Over N7.9 Billion Bailout Fund – by Gistok5: 11:14pm On Jun 12, 2019
Oyo state chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has reacted to the statement credited to the Oyo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) that Governor Seyi Makinde should do all he has promised since he has allegedly got N7.9 billion bailout funds.

In the same statement issued by the party’s Publicity Secretary, Akeem Olatunji, PDP said the APC is not in best position to offer advise to the Makinde-led government.

The party accused the APC of merely seeking to distract the new government in the state through unwarranted claims. According to the PDP, comments by the APC on the said bailout fund only shows that the opposition party was saddened that its government did not get the opportunity to mismanage the bailout fund.

The statement indicated that while the PDP was not averse to taking credible and quality advice from any quarter in the state, it was wary of “licking a poisoned chalice dressed innocuously as an altruistic advice from the APC on the above-mentioned issues.”

The statement further read: “We are all witnesses to how the immediate past APC government mismanaged the fortunes of the state and failed to fulfil its promises to the Judges, the Judiciary  and the entire people of the state during its eight year rule.

“We cannot also forget in a hurry how the APC government put the future of thousands of our children who are students in LAUTECH in peril through unwarranted strikes and lack of funding.

“Rather than gallivant about on the streets proffering unwanted advice to the government of Engineer Seyi Makinde, the APC should bury its head in shame for the unmitigated mismanagement its government foisted on the people of Oyo State in the last eight years.

“Let us restate here that the government of Engineer Seyi Makinde has sold itself to probity and accountability. It is not a decision forced on us by anyone. And in that regard, every kobo that accrues to the state will be judiciously used.

“We believe that some members of the APC are already getting jittery on realising that the PDP government is about to establish an anti-corruption commission in the state. It is clear that the hint of the incoming anti-corruption agency is making some persons in that party to commit unforced errors.” The statement also enjoined the opposition in the state to allow the new government settle in and face the task of rebuilding the state which was practically crippled under the watch of the APC.

Politics / BREAKING: Buhari Asked To Name June 12 ‘MKO Abiola Day’ by Gistok5: 9:57pm On Jun 12, 2019
The Center for Anti-Corruption and Open Leadership, CACOL, has proposed another name for June 12 Democracy Day to President Muhammadu Buhari. The Center in an announcement marked and made accessible to GISTOK  on Wednesday, by its Executive Director, Dabo Adeniran, said June 12 ought to be renamed MKO Abiola Day.

The announcement included, "as of late, there have been a few anecdotes about the June 12, 1993 races as the day has come to speak to various things to various individuals with more substantial part Nigerians and political spectators inferring that the day symbolizes another day break in the chronicles of the country when a resurrection of another nationhood was going to jump up however tragically prematurely ended by the greatest ruler, Ibrahim Babangida (IBB's) administration and what should be a bringing together factor for the multi-different nationalities involving the country, turned into a most disruptive and damaging occasion.

"Be that as it may, more than 25 (Twenty-Five) years after the cancellation of the alleged freest and most attractive decisions in the nation, the energy has taken another point, particularly with the Muhammadu Buhari's Government pronouncing the day the new Democracy Day for the country as opposed to May 29, which has no representative importance to the country than being a progress day from military guideline to a vote based government.

"The Center for Anti-Corruption and Open Leadership (CACOL) expressed that June 12 is to a greater extent daily to elevate Ibrahim Babangida (IBB)'s, Government which made ideological groups and gave them belief systems by composing their manifestoes for them which he called a little to the Left and a little to the Right supporting his shapeless political feeling; fabricated gatherings Secretariats for them as opposed to enabling the general population to figure out what they needed, ideologically and through monetary duties of their individuals and their unique authors.

"Political workplaces were based on his impulses instead of where the general population existed. "Too sharp and educated political spectators, everything that occurred previously, during and following June 12, 1993 races never meant genuine vote based system in any capacity; the revelation of the race was not all-encompassing, the open mystery poll framework, even the choice A4 was never majority rule as other ideological groups were disbanded, yet their pioneers and organizers kept from building up or having a place with some other ideological groups accordingly, averting simplification of the general population the free decision to pick who they needed.

"The June 12 occurrence was the day Abiola gained the instrumentality of battle that caused him to submit fabulous suicide clearly by taking side with most of the Nigerian individuals that were extremely poor and commonly outside his unique average class.

"Abiola revived the desire for the Nigerian individuals and battled on their side, eventually relinquishing his life for what a customary and reasonable, drudging Nigerian represented. He crusaded all through the length and broadness of the country to give expectation and help to the man in the city.

"He stunned individuals from his financial class by pronouncing that his rise would flag a fresh start in the chronicles of financial cum political undertakings in the country and would proclaim a period where 'No Nigerian would head to sleep on an unfilled stomach.'

"To the dominant part Nigerians, this was the electrifying component the MKO Abiola's administration spoke to. He had shown this before with his immense riches put at the command of numerous sad and battling Nigerians, from the West, East, and South of the country. It was subsequently, not astounding when he crushed his principal rival, Bashir Tofa, at his surveying corner in Kano and most different pieces of the country.

"It was multi-day Nigerians on the whole set aside their religious, ethnic and nationality gathering aside to cast a ballot a Muslim-Muslim ticket all through the length and expansiveness of the country and gave a general order to their image of 'Expectation 93 and Farewell to Poverty' as the motto embraced by all.

"Today, this equivalent day, amusingly, has been utilized by specific components that were either initially in charge of the grievous invalidation and obliteration of an uncommon shot of establishing vote based system in the nation or those individuals that later euthanized or sold out the battle, one way or the other.

"One of the key figures in that age was Alhaji Bababgana Kingibe, a Vice Presidential hopeful of Chief Moshood Kashimawo Olawale Abiola, accepted to have surrendered the ship when it made a difference most and right now an individual from the kitchen cupboard to President Muhammadu Buhari's Government. This is the reason the JUNE 12 has turned out to be various things to the classes of the ruled and the rulers.

"To those in Government, it speaks to multi-day their class endure a noteworthy political wave, intended to arouse and assemble the mass against their rudderless framework and replaces their rule, while more significant part Nigerians see it as multi-day the majority had a chance to free themselves from the shackles of social oppression and financial miasma. "As the Yorubas are wont to assert, 'Ninu ikoko Dudu ni eco-fun tin jade,' truly meaning we get our white pap from a darkened pot.

"However, occasions and exercises prompting June 12, 1993, might be a long way from being fair or standard, the image of that occasion, MKO Abiola, held onto the force to agree with the drudging and enduring Nigerians and revive their expectation in another Nigeria where religion, ethnicity, and other primordial contemplations would clear path for legitimacy and perfection in deciding authority and different strivings in the nation.

"Like the United States of America (USA's) Civil Liberty token, Reverend Martin Luther King Jnr, similarly killed while battling for racial uniformity and non-segregation, Abiola has come to make June 12 a life-changing minute as Nigeria continued looking for social character and political/ideological heading. "This educate why we prompt that the Government ought to announce the day (June 12) MKO Abiola Day, never to be overlooked and emphasize the exercise and even when we as a whole tune and say, NEVER AGAIN.

"It is satisfying that the NATIONAL STADIUM Abuja has been named after this energetic Nigerian who set out his life for the development of another Nigeria with so much éclat, we entreat the administration to urge Prof Humphrey Nwosu the then National Electoral Commission of Nigeria, NECON, to formally proclaim the last aftereffects of the June 12, 1993, Presidential races, which Prof Nwosu has affirmed Chief MKO Abiola won reasonable and square, so he would be authoritatively perceived as the second chose President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (FRN) and agreed to all advantages and acknowledgment resultant along these lines."

Politics / Insecurity: Buhari Must Declare Full Emergency -adeolu by Gistok5: 10:09am On May 07, 2019
Adebayo Adeolu, a legal counselor and open issues investigator says the natives have not by any stretch of the imagination profited by 20 years of big government in Nigeria. He likewise approaches President Buhari to pronounce crisis rule in states tormented by frailty.

On May 29 it will be a long time since the arrival to majority rule government. How well do you think Nigerians have fared as far as administration?

It is ideal that the majority rule government has been set up in Nigeria for as long as 20 years. When you investigate the administration, you will concur that it has not been for the general population in numerous zones. Take a gander at the economy; for instance; the degrading of the money at N360 to the dollar has not helped the country or the general population.

It has instead prompted swelling with the typical cost for necessary items hitting the rooftops as far as the fundamental needs of life like sustenance, apparel, and sanctuary among others.

This was to some extent what driven the composed trade guilds to put weight on the government to actualize the expansion in the lowest pay permitted by law from 18,000 to 30,000.

At the dimension of the states, the governors keep on owing the specialists overdue debts of a while of pay rates notwithstanding the bailout reserves President Muhammadu Buhari discharged to them.

A few states asserted they presented nourishing system in schools, where they feed the understudies once per day, yet denied the folks of their compensation.

As far as foundation numerous states have done severely in street support and the accumulation of denying.
Security insightful, numerous states up north and parts of the central belt and southern states are under the attack of herders and outfitted criminals and killers. The Internally Displaced People (IDP) in the different camps have not been satisfactorily accommodated.

In this way, the majority rules system has not by any stretch of the imagination been for the general population because the security and welfare of the general population which is the real motivation behind government have not been a top need.

The day will likewise check the start of President Buhari’s second term. How well do you think he performed in the critical term?

A president can prevail in a majority rules system when the state governors are additionally carrying out their responsibilities. The nation has not so much gained ground since employments are not being made, and you can make occupations when you have a trade arrangement of government is set up.
