It is a known fact that Mercy had undergone plastic surgery after she revealed it during the big brother Naija show but it is surprising that Natacha Akide AKA Tacha is now using that against her by saying plastics will melt if they come close to heater, it is quite unfortunate not to see these girls getting along, whatever their differences are, we hope they set it aside and work together, we hate seeing women against other women! The guts and lack of remorse that has been shown by the FUTA student who assaulted a fellow fresher student in the school is astonishing. One of the students in question has been heard saying her uncle is a friend of the university dean and he would "work everything out" for her, imagine the impunity and guts to say such a thing in confidence after just committing one of the most gracious crimes? Here is a video of her bragging that her uncle is a friend of the dean and would call in a favour to sort her out: https://www.ogbeta.ng/2019/11/my-uncle-na-dean-friend-one-of.html Meanwhile, the university have taken steps to punish the students involved by suspending them before the final verdict is made on the case. Here is the official statement that was released by the University: The Federal University of Technology Akure ,FUTA has suspended the students involved in the bullying of a female student in one of the off campus hostels on Saturday November 16,2019 indefinitely from all academic and related activities even as it continues with investigations into the circumstances that led to the odious and unfortunate act. In effect the suspended students are not to be found anywhere in or near the Federal University of Technology Akure. The University deplores such behavior and reiterates that all those found to be culpable will be visited with the full weight of the law under the extant rules and regulations governing Students behavior and conduct off and on the campus at the conclusion of investigation being carried out by the Students Affairs Division. The University Management is providing medical and counseling support for the affected student. The University reiterates its abhorrence of any action or behavior by students that are inimical to the well-being of others and will continue to sanction students who run foul of its rules and regulations. For the avoidance of doubt only students who are worthy in learning and character can lay claim to and be addressed as FUTA students Adegbenro Adebanjo Deputy Director Corporate Communications FUTA We hope justice will eventually be served in this case because so far we only heard they have been suspended for 1 year: “Good evening guys, The dean of students has identified the girls and the guy. The guy is currently facing panel in school here. While the girl was beaten up because she has told the girls that they were sleeping around for the Iphones. Currently, the case is most decided. The boy is getting expulsion! The girls, suspension for a year, at least while they sign a letter of undertaking for the EWM girl. Thank you to everyone that pulled their weight! God bless class 23 for immediate action.” Source: https://www.ogbeta.ng/2019/11/my-uncle-na-dean-friend-one-of.html

Prof. Alaba Simpson was on Friday, announced as the new Deputy Vice-Chancellor by the Management of Crawford University, Igbesa, Ogun State. The university’s Public Relations Officer, Mr Layi Olajumoke, said that the appointment took immediate effect. The new DVC is expected to take over from Prof. Patrick Yalokwu, who has served his statutory two terms. “This is the newest development emanating from the Igbesa, faith-based institution, following the vacation of the position by Prof. Patrick Yalokwu, having served the statutory two terms. “With the vacuum thus created, the Senate of the institution met and, following its due procedure, nominated Prof Simpson to take over. “The newly-appointed DVC is the first female professor to be so named to the position in the 14-year-old institution,” he said. Olajumoke said that the new DVC was born some six decades ago in Lagos Island, Lagos State, and travelled to England for her ‘A’ Levels-equivalent awarding college, New Battle Abbey College. “She also had her Masters at the University of Westminster, formerly known as the Polytechnic of Central London, where she studied The Ethnography of West Africa. “She attended the school of Oriental and African Studies at University of London in 1982 and gained admission into the University of Jos for her third degree in 2004. “Prof Simpson joined the service of Crawford University in 2009, where she had held various positions like the Head of Department of the Social Sciences and Director of Scholarship and Work-Study Administration, among others” he said. Olajumoke added that Simpson later became the substantive Dean of the College of Business and Social Sciences. He said that the new DVC had also headed some critical university committees like the Capital Advocacy Project Advisory Committee and the Public Lecture Committee. Professor Simpson is married to Mr Simpson, and the union is blessed with children. Source: https://www.ogbeta.ng/2019/11/crawford-university-igbesa-ogun-state.html

A four-year-old girl has been found with horrific injuries, stitched together and bitten in what has been described as a "heartbreaking case of abuse, neglect, and murder of an innocent, defenseless child." Zya Singleton was found covered in homemade stitches, cigarette burns on her arms and legs, broken bones, open wounds, bite marks, puncture wounds and with no nose. Police were called to the house in Philadelphia, on October 30, to reports that a child had fallen out of the window. Caretaker Samilya Brown, 38, claimed the girl was playing with a cat when she fell out. When police arrived, they found Zya in the second-floor bathroom being put in cold water. She was rushed to Thomas Jefferson University Hospital on October 30 but was then transferred to Children's Hospital of Philadelphia for treatment. She was pronounced dead on November 3, according to CNN. The medical examiner determined that Zya died from blunt impact, thermal injuries, and sepsis, The Philadelphia Inquirer reports. They found inconsistencies with Brown's story, including signs of malnourishment on the little girl. Little Zya is believed to have been abused for years, the Daily Star reports. Philadelphia Assistant District Attorney Chesley Lightsey said: "It became clear very soon after doctors were able to try and stabilise her that this was a case of long-term child abuse, not a fall out of a window." Jasmine Singleton, Zya's biological mother, said she could barely recognise her daughter at the hospital. She said: “She had no nose, all of this was gone. All you saw was the frame. "You can't prepare no mom for what I walked in that room and saw. My baby's face was destroyed, all she had was eyes and a head that was taped up with burns on her body. I walked into the room and walked out." The woman, who gave Zya in custody to Brown in 2016 because she was unable to care for the child, said he had no idea about the abuse her daughter was suffering. The girl had been living with Brown for about two years, Lightsey said. Records also showed that the child had not been to a doctor since April 2016, prosecutors added. It was learnt that the victim’s father, Mallam Yahaya, had earlier reported that his son was in the Gbogan Market to collect an undisclosed debt from the suspect, who had refused to pay. We correspondent also gathered that when the deceased went to the suspect to demand his money, a fight broke out between the two of them. This action was said to have led to the death of Bala as he collapsed and was rushed to hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead. In an interview with correspondent, the suspect admitted to owing the deceased an undisclosed sum of money as well as engaging him in the fight, which led to his death. He explained that he was provoked into fighting as the deceased became rude while demanding his money. Mohammed said, “He was rude to me in his approach. I know I owed him, but he should not have taken advantage of that to insult me. It was his rude behaviour that provoked me into fighting him, which eventually led to his death. “Bala did not give me time to explain why I could not raise the money I owe him, rather, he resorted to abusing me and my family and we started fighting. I regret that this led to his death.” The command’s Public Relations Officer, Muhammad Abubakar, confirmed the incident, saying the suspect had confessed to the crime. Over two months after President Muhammadu Buhari inaugurated his cabinet, the names of 22 of the 43 ministers are still missing from the Federal Government’s website. Buhari on August 21 inaugurated the ministers at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, and assigned portfolios to them. But a check on the website of the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation on Monday showed that out of the 43 ministers, only 37 (designations) were listed, leaving out six. The six left out are either new ministries created by Buhari or the ones carved out from the existing ones. Out of the 37 designations listed, only 21 names were supplied. The remaining 16 slots were either left vacant or the inscription, “minister has not been appointed,” written against them despite the fact that ministers had been assigned portfolios and had since resumed work. The ministers listed on the website as ‘not appointed yet’ were the Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment; Minister of Niger Delta; Minister of State, Niger Delta; Minister of Petroleum; Minister of State for Petroleum; Minister of Power, Works and Housing; Minister of State, Power, Works and Housing; Minister of State for Power, Works and Housing (Power); Minister of Science and Technology; Minister of Solid Minerals and Minister of State for Solid Minerals. Others are Minister of Transportation; Minister of State for Aviation; Minister of Water Resources, Minister of Women Affairs and Social Development and Minister of Youth and Sports. Although Mr. Festus Keyamo and Tayo Alasoadura have since swapped positions, Keyamo was still listed as the Minister of State for Niger Delta (his former position) while Alasoadura was named Minister of State for Labour. While Mrs. Zainab Ahmed was named Minister of Finance, Budget and National Planning, the website erroneously identified her as Minister of Finance (the old designation). The Minister of State for Finance, Budget and National Planning, Clement Agba, was also erroneously listed as substantive Minister of Budget and National Planning. The Minister of State for Finance, Budget and National Planning, Clement Agba, was also erroneously listed as substantive Minister of Budget and National Planning. Mustapha Shehuri was also erroneously listed as Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, instead of his correct position of Minister of State. The new ministries completely left out of the list are Ministry of Special Duties; Ministry of Police Affairs; Ministry of Power and Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development. Other ministers who made the list are Sale Mamman (Power), Ali Pantami (Communication), Bashir Magashi (Defence), Adamu Adamu (Education), Emeka Nwajiuba (State, Education), Muhammad Mahmood (Environment) and Mohammed Bello (FCT). The rest are Geofffey Onyeama (Foreign Affairs), Zubair Dada (State, Foreign Affairs), Osagie Ehanire (Health), Adeleke Mamora (State, Health), Lai Mohammed (Information and Culture), Chris Ngige (Labour and Employment). The ministers whose names are conspicuously missing from the list are Rotimi Amaechi (Transportation), Gbemisoĺa Saraki (State, Transportation), Hadi Sirika (Aviation), Suleiman Adamu (Water Resources), Pauline Tallen (Women Affairs), Sunday Dare (Youth and Sports) Mohammed Nanono (Agriculture and Rural Development) and Niyi Adebayo (Industry, Trade and Investment). Others are Maryam Katagum (Industry, Trade and Investment), Godswill Akpabio (Niger Delta), Timipre Sylva (State, Petroleum), Babatunde Fashola (Works and Housing), Ogbonnaya Onu (Science and Technology), George Akume (Special Duties), Mohammed Dangyadi (Police Affairs), Mohammed Abdullahi (State, Science and Technology), Sharon Ikeazor (State, Environment), Olamilekan Adegbite (Mines and Steel Development), Abubakar Aliyu (State, Works and Housing), Sadiya Faruk (Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development), Godwin Jedi-Agba (State, Power) and Ramatu Aliyu (State, FCT). Spokesman for the Pan-Yoruba group, Afenifere, Yinka Odumakin, described the development as “a manifestation of the level of incompetence in the system.” He said it was the combination of such “little things” that led to national failure. Odumakin said, “That the names of 22 ministers are still missing from government website about two months after they were inaugurated alongside their colleagues is a manifestation of the level of incompetence in the system which we always talk about. “The truth is that nobody is paying attention to all these details that matter. “Their priorities are quite different from those of other well-meaning Nigerians. “Clearly, this is a reflection of the kind of analogue people driving the system. “The combination of such little things results in our national failure as a country. It is unfortunate.” Also, the Executive Director, Security Legislative Advocacy Centre and Head of Transparency International (Nigeria), Auwal Rafsanjani, condemned the development. Rafsanjani said, “This further confirms that there are a lot of challenges in governance in Nigeria. “Ministers were nominated, screened by the National Assembly, inaugurated by the President, who assigned portfolios to them and months after, the government’s website is indicating a different thing. It is sad.” He added, “Government must have a functional website to communicate to Nigerians. Such website should be updated regularly and constantly.” Source: https://www.ogbeta.ng/2019/11/22-names-missing-from-ministerials-list.html
