A video has emerged on social media showing how an unidentified lady 'ran mad'.

The shocking incident reportedly happened in the Badagry area of Lagos state and has caused serious commotion in the place.

According to SaharaReporters, the Department of State Services has arrested the Founder of Sotitobire Miracle Centre, Akure, Ondo State, Alfa Babatunde, following a petition against him about a missing child in his church.

Babatunde was arrested on Tuesday afternoon after the DSS invited him for interrogation at their office in Akure, the state capital.

Eniola Kolawole was declared missing at the popular church during a special service.

The church is located at the Oshinle Quarters of Akure.

A source at the DSS office, who spoke with our correspondent, confirmed the arrest of Babatunde.

"Pastor Babatunde was invited this afternoon to our office for interrogation after we got a petition about a missing child in his church.

"We had earlier contacted him through his lawyer but both of them were not cooperating with us.

"Fortunately, he showed up this afternoon after intense pressure, so we had to quickly swing into action by taking him to his house for a search.

"We also searched his church thoroughly.

"His case is being moved to Abuja for further investigation."

Mrs Modupe Kolawole, the distraught mother of the missing child had accused Babatunde of being behind the sudden disappearance of her son.

Recall that the one-year-old child was dropped at the creche section of the church by his mother during a service but went missing shortly before the end of the program. According to a report by Punch Metro, the Federal High Court in Lagos on Monday granted N10m bail to a naval captain, Dada Labinjo, said to have been in a naval underground detention for over a year.

Justice Muslim Hassan ordered Labinjo to produce one surety who must own a landed property in Lagos and must show evidence of three-year tax payment.

However, the judge ordered that Labinjo be released to his lawyer, Jerry Omoregie, pending when he would meet the bail conditions within 15 days.

The lawyer was directed to submit his Certificate of Call to Bar to the court’s registrar as a guarantee that he would produce his client for trial.

The bail followed Labinjo’s arraignment alongside others on two counts of dealing in petroleum products without lawful authority.

Among the other defendants was Labinjo’s wife, Bola Labinjo, a Lieutenant Commander in the Navy.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission told the court that the defendants conspired among themselves between August and October 2018 to deal in Automobile Gas Oil (diesel), without the appropriate licence.

According to the EFCC, the defendants committed the offence “within the Nigerian maritime domain and the Gulf of Guinea.”

The prosecution said they acted contrary to sections 3(6) and 1((19)(a)(b) of the Miscellaneous Offences Act Cap. M17 Laws of the Federation of Nigeria (Revised Edition) 2004, and were liable to be punished under Section 1(17) of the same Act.

But they pleaded not guilty.

The other defendants were admitted to bail in terms similar to Labinjo’s.

Governor Yahaya Bello has congratulated Sen. Smart Adeyemi for his victory at Saturday’s Kogi West re-run Senatorial District poll announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The governor in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Onogwu Muhammed issued in Lokoja, described the victory ”as a collective manifestation of intellectual, moral and cultural virtues, and mandate given by the good people of Kogi West”.

Bello commended the APC supporters and the people of Kogi West for exercising their civic rights in a peaceful manner.

He also lauded INEC officials and security agencies for doing their best within the ambit of the law to ensure free, fair and credible elections in the re-run.

”The APC as a party is particularly grateful to the people of Kogi West for their peaceful conduct at the polls and embracing the promise of the party to work assiduously to ensure development of the area and the state in general.

”Now that we are having all three APC senators representing Kogi at the National Assembly, my administration will work in synergy with them and other APC lawmakers to attract more projects to our state, to make life more meaningful for its citizens”, Bello said.

The returning officer, Prof. Olajide Lawal, announced on Saturday that Adeyemi polled 88,373 votes to defeat the candidate of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Dino Melaye who recorded 62,133 votes.

The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has waded into the controversy ignited by the social media and hate speech bills sponsored by some lawmakers in the national assembly.

In a statement released by Samuel Kwamkur the national director of legal and public affairs of the Christian association, CAN President Samson Ayokunle stated that the bill which has generated fear in different parts of the country will be of no good to Nigerians.

Ayokunle who insisted that the existing laws are strong enough to deal with cases of hate speech added that the bills appear to separately seek to gag Nigeria’s citizens from speaking out freely.

“These two bills have generated so much misgivings and criticisms that they have led to uncommon tension and fears among Nigeria’s Citizens. This is doing no good to the fears and apprehension of the citizens already on ground as a result of insecurity, deplorable infrastructural amenities and the general welfare of the people,” he said.

“Having looked at all sides to the debate, CAN is calling on the National Assembly, particularly the President of the Senate and all distinguished Senators to discountenance the two bills and put off completely any contemplation to pass them into Acts of the National Assembly as sincere lovers of the nation.

“The bills, in the general view of majority of Nigerians, and in ours too, appear to separately seek to gag Nigeria’s citizens from speaking out freely, but responsibly on matters that affect their lives in all spheres. This, to us, is an ill wind that will blow nobody any good

“The Penal Code, Criminal Code, Cyber Crime Act and other legal provisions on crimes that deal with hate speeches, defamation, libel and similar offences are clear and strong enough,” Ayokunle added.

“In this wise, we desire that governments at all levels and indeed members of the National Assembly pay greater attention to the issues of insecurity, economic hardship, poverty, bad roads, poor education and the dearth of infrastructure.

“We, therefore, call on our governments to respect the sanctity of the Nigerian Constitution and other extant laws and provide for all Nigerians a better nation to live in.”

A video showing the moment President Muhammadu Buhari seeming refused to shake hands with Senator Oluremi Tinubu while greeting other dignitaries on the sidelines of the E-Nigeria International Conference, Award and Exhibition in Abuja on Thursday has elicited reactions on Twitter.

In the video which is about 18 seconds long, Buhari is seen alighting from his official Mercedes Benz at the International Conference Centre, Abuja after which he is welcomed by the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Isa Pantami.

The President subsequently shakes hands with the Governor of Nasarawa State, Abdullahi Sule, who is standing next to Mrs. Tinubu, who is the Chairman, Senate Committee on Communications.

Senator Tinubu, who curtsies twice, is, however, not get a handshake from the President and she didn’t extend her hand for one.

Buhari subsequently skips her and goes on to exchange pleasantries and a handshake with Inuwa Abdullahi, the Director-General of the National Information Technology Development Agency.

The President’s action, however, caused a debate on Twitter.

While some said what the President did was not wrong, others said the action was evidence that the President believes that women only belong to the “kitchen and the other room,” a claim he had once made while talking about his wife, Aisha.

Twitter user, @donaldnihio tweeted, “The woman was totally ignored. Eyah! Inside life,” while, @emperorjissy tweeted, “There s no possible way he would have had a handshake with Remi Tinubu there. The minister was obviously blocking her and she was not putting her hands forward.””

But @Aladay7 said, “After watching the video several times, I can conclude that President Buhari did not shake her because she was not one of the people on the welcome team.”

Nollywood actress, Susan Peters has vowed to stand naked in front of Government house if they do not return her new car to her. According to Susan, her driver violated a traffic offence while going for an errand with the car, and the car was arrested alongside some other cars by CSO Leke Smith.

They were asked to pay a fine before their cars can be returned to them. She headed for the office to pay the fine only to find out that her own car has been transferred to Government house, while other cars were released to their respective owners. She began to question if their reason for transferring hers to the government house is because it’s still new.

Lady who deals with AKAWO money lending was kidnapped from her self contained apartment, killed, tied with heavy block and thrown into the Well close to her house in Port Harcourt.

SAD, Miss Charity Ohaka from Okporowo Ogbakiri in Emohua LGA has been murdered by yet to be identified killers.
