Today, we mark a significant milestone in Lagos State's environmental history, commemorating the first anniversary of Honorable Commissioner Tokunbo Wahab's (aka Do The Right Thing ) pioneering leadership. With boundless energy, fearlessness, and unwavering commitment, he has revolutionized Lagos' environmental landscape, setting a new standard for excellence.

Tokunbo Wahab has effectively dismantled non-compliant structures to restore natural water courses and minimize flood hazards. Implemented rigorous sanitation measures in markets and informal settlements, significantly enhancing public health and safety. Enacted policies prioritizing the broader public interest, benefiting the majority. Earned recognition as 'Mr. Doing the Right Thing' for unwavering dedication to integrity and transparency. Successfully transformed Lagos into a thriving megacity, overcoming environmental challenges through visionary leadership.

Lagos State Commissioner for Environment, Tokunbo Wahab, is known for his unwavering stance against blackmail. A house owned by a Local Government Chairman in Ikota was demolished for violating environmental laws. Despite this, the chairman publicly claimed to be a victim of witch-hunt. However, it is clear that his house was built on a drainage path and setback, contravening regulations.

Under Commissioner Wahab's leadership, no one is above the law. If you break the rules, you must face the consequences. This applies to everyone, regardless of status or position. The commissioner's commitment to upholding the law is unwavering, and his actions demonstrate that there are no sacred cows in Lagos State's environmental enforcement.

Despite opposition from vested interests, Commissioner Tokunbo remained resolute, driven by his conviction in collective responsibility and the greater good. His policies have made a profound impact, saving Lagos from devastating flooding challenges like those in Borno.

His Excellency, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, Governor of Lagos State, has praised Honorable Commissioner Tokunbo Wahab as a reliable friend and a passionate individual who dedicates himself wholeheartedly to every endeavor.

"Commissioner Wahab has been an invaluable addition to our team, serving as a strong resource and asset to the cabinet", Governor Sanwo-Olu affirmed. His unwavering dedication and expertise have been instrumental in driving progress and positive change in Lagos State, and we are grateful for his contributions towards a Cleaner Lagos.

I salute Commissioner Tokunbo's fearless efforts to transform Lagos, challenging the status quo, and prioritizing the greater good. His leadership has inspired a new era of environmental stewardship in Lagos. Governor Sanwo-Olu's unwavering support testifies to Commissioner Tokunbo's transformative impact.

As we celebrate this milestone, we honor Commissioner Tokunbo's commitment to creating a sustainable, environmentally conscious Lagos, where future generations can thrive. His legacy continues to inspire, and his impact will be felt for generations to come.

Politics / Tokunbo Wahab@51: Celebrating An Exceptional Leader With Uncommon Accomplishment by GiwaMoore1: 11:23am On May 17, 2023
By Giwa Moore

In the past three years, Lagos State Tertiary Institutions under the leadership of Barr. Tokunbo Wahab who clocks 51 today has been enthralled by purposeful driven governance, innovative programmes and projects under a serene and placid atmosphere. In all ramifications, his 51st birthday is a worthy and fulfilled milestone which should be commemorated with pomp and wide jubilations.

Tokunbo Wahab is ever willing to render help as much as he can. He is very accessible notwithstanding that he is so busy and hard working. He is not concerned about where you come from or the colour of your skin, he is godly and fair to all and is non-judgemental. He is ever willing to guide, teach and correct. Whenever he gives you a task his major motive and interest is for you to deliver, he is a leader that believes so much in the young ones, I enjoyed working with him. He is one of the few in the world who can tell me what to do and I will do it because his actions are borne out of love and genuine intentions. Never for personal agrandization.

While he looks for intelligence, energy, integrity and humility in individuals, as a good leader would do, he never despises the weak and the oppressed, like Job, in the Bible, he ‘delivers the poor and search out a matter’. He easily forgives others their trespasses. He is a peace maker and never a user of men and women. No one that has worked with him remains on the same level.

Everyone with good intention wants to work with this man. He has large followers who believes so much in him. But what most people don’t know or understand about this man is that he does not want you to follow him but he desires others to become leaders too, with all the responsibilities that go with leading in order to have a better society. He stands by others in times of needs. The life lessons that I have gleaned from relating with this uncommon leader and mentor cannot be quantified. I will continue to celebrate this man who has touched my life and countless others.

Under his watch, the Babajide Sanwo-Olu administration has commissioned library/ICT centres across Lagos State secondary schools; constructed administrative buildings at Lagos State Polytechnic, LASPOTECH, Isolo; LASU/eCornel Business School in Victoria Island; 8,700 bed space for students of LASU; and upgraded LASPOTECH, Adeniran Ogunsanya College of Education, AOCOED, Ijanikin and Micheal Otedola College of Primary Education, MOCPED, Epe to University of Technology and University of Education.

To honour his resilience in bringing Lagos State Education to 21st century standards, Barr. Wahab was awarded the Government Official of the Year (2021) at the Excellence Recognition Awards’ 17th edition in Lagos.

Tokunbo Wahab is not just habe a selfless and service oriented ideology, he has also stayed glued to it all his life without compromising his position. To him, the confidence reposed on him by the generality of the ordinary people, worth more than silver, gold and diamond. He would rather remain friends with the people than trade them to satisfy himself, a practice that dominates our political terrain. I pray God to prolong his life in peace, good health and prosperity and to reward all his investments in humanity. Happy birthday to you Sir, as you celebrate this your special day.

Borowing from the word of Peter Drucker, "Effective leadership is not about making speeches or being liked; leadership is defined by results not attributes." This leadership excerpt is a true reflection of Senator Adetokunbo Mukhail Abiru, who is celebrating his dazzling 59 years today. It is that time of the year again to celebrate a hard thinker. A man of substance. A man of vision. A man on a mission to impact his environment positively. A man of purpose who lives but not by happenstance or impulse.

It is common in our clime to eulogize and for those who believes in one's leadership to be at their best performances, increasing the tempo of their art to culminate on a day like this for leaders and people of high political positions. One can’t blame them. It is their way of validation and attestation.

Since 3:00am that I wake up have read numerous prismatic nugget written about Senator Tokunbo Abiru, the Senator representing Lagos East Senatorial District from those who vividly believe in his leadership style. Most of them have channelled their energy on how well he has committed and performed as Senator representing the good people of Lagos East.

Senator Tokunbo Abiru known with the moniker “DoingGood”. His birthday always presents some of us a chance to reflect on his past, juxtapose his present in an attempt to peep into a future that promises to be more glorious if his antecedents, providence and the workings of his mind are anything to go by. Without any iota of doubt, the 59th birthday of Senator Tokunbo Abiru worth celebrating considering his personal achievements as well as meaningful impacts in private and public sectors.

There are two significant qualities that citizens often seek in their leaders, namely, competence and integrity. The ability to deliver change and promise, in terms of potential excellence and campaign pledge, is both the stuff of good leadership and people’s expectations.

From his current performance at the wheel of legislstive power, to the eminence of his previous role as MD/CEO of Polaris Bank, to the shrewdness of his judgments on national issues, and his ability to change the narrative in Lagos East Senatorial District, Senator Tokunbo Abiru is certainly a compassionate and a dynamo leader. There are plenty of reasons to support this assessment.

The DoingGood Senator was born on March 25, 1964. An indigene of Ikorodu, he attended Government College Lagos, Baptist Academy Lagos for advanced level studies and Lagos State University graduating in economics in 1988. He holds a B. Sc Economics and is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) and Honourary Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN). He is an alumnus of Harvard Business School and Lagos Business School executive education programmes and is happily married to Mrs Feyisola Abiru, CEO of H & Y Ltd, an industrialist with a thriving furniture industry in Ikorodu.

His working career took him through several institutions including Deloitte (formerly Akintola Williams and Co), Guaranty Trust Bank Plc, First Atlantic Trust Bank and First Bank of Nigeria Plc before his appointment as Lagos State Commissioner for Finance in 2011 under the administration of Governor Babatunde Raji Fashola SAN.

As Commissioner for Finance, he led the state’s floating of an N80billion bond earning it the EMEA Finance Best Local Currency Bond Award for 2012. His efforts led to a significant increase in Land Use Charge generated by the state government and the widening of the tax net to improve revenue generation by 2013.

He returned to First Bank of Nigeria Plc in 2013 as Executive Director after a very successful two-year period in the Lagos State Cabinet. Abiru, who has more than three decades of experience in the financial sector was appointed in July 2016 by the CBN as Group Managing Director to lead the turnaround of Skye Bank in a bid to preserve the stability of the Nigerian Financial System, a critical assignment which he successfully accomplished leading to the birth of the new and transformed Polaris Bank Ltd. He has successfully positioned Polaris Bank as a leading, profitable, digitally enabled and systemically important Tier 2 bank in Nigeria.

At the time of Abiru’s appointment, the bank’s ratings were abysmally low in all ramifications. Its non-performing loans were already 80%, which according to analysts, was far above the regulatory standard. Other prudential and adequacy ratios of the defunct bank abysmally performed much below the thresholds of the apex bank.

Under his leadership, the financial institution, now named Polaris Bank, has been successfully restructured. In the first quarter of 2020, the bank posted a profit after tax of over N18 billion despite the difficult conditions imposed by COVID-19, a deadly virus that forced the federal government to lock down economies of the most affected states for about two months. In the 2019 financial year, the bank posted N27.35 billion profit after tax, which rivalled what banks that are not in crisis made.

He’s simply a man of substance. The DoingGood Senator enduring power is his ability and willpower to allow those around him to imagine themselves as better individuals. His capacity to propel people to a fresh interpretation and perspective on how things can be done better stands out as one of his trademarks and imprints. His birthday therefore provides an opportunity to reflect on the seemingly vast distance between the history we have seen in Lagos East Senatorial District.

What the DoingGood Senator brings to the table, his personal biography, the ambitious and tenacious ways of doing things can serve as a bridge between past and contemporary reality in Lagos East. This becomes more apt within the purview that providence, destiny and God’s design seems to have positioned him as a leader whose rhetoric, vision and mission framed his immediate environment as a patchwork of diverse communities that grow as they recognize the common ground of citizenship and dignity that should unite them.

He remains one of the most brilliant, fertile minded, smart and incisive political actors around. Robustly exposed, diligently educated with a global and contemporary viewpoint to tackle any kind of intellectual intricacies associated with a modern society. He is meticulous, intelligent, passionate and workaholic, a man of balanced cognate experience in both the private and public sectors and a thoroughbred technocrat. He is so consistent in his drive, yet you will find him as humble as they come.

DoingGood Senator is a man of focus, drive, zeal and determination. He does not court cheap popularity or mass revalidation neither does he fancy unnecessary garrulous presence. Showmanship of appearances is not part of his lifestyle. For him, exhibitionism as a way of spinning public acceptability is a sign of weakness that is akin to covering personal inadequacies.

Shortly after his inauguration as the Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria on the 15th December, 2020, Abiru commissioned an extensive NEEDS ASSESSMENTS to gather empirical data on the needs of the people in order of urgency and priorities.

The Human-Centred Design Approach he engaged brought the people into the decision-making mix and further endeared him to the people at the grassroots. The starling findings of the NEEDS ASSESSMENTS formed the basis of his interventions across the 98 wards in the 16 Local Governments and Local Council Development Areas in the last 15 months in the saddle.

In response to the agony of many households especially the vulnerable members of the Lagos East who were badly hit by the devastating impacts of the Corona-Virus pandemic, Abiru launched COVID-19 Financial Assistance Scheme for widows, aged, unemployed youth, Persons with Physical disabilities and women in the district. Not fewer than 2500 vulnerable people are getting direct credit transfers on a monthly basis.

He also set up liaison offices in Epe, Kosofe, Ibeju-Lekki and Somolu to complement the main constituency in Ikorodu. This was done to make access to constituency services easier.

In the area of education, the #DoingGood Senator has done well. Abiru facilitated 24 classrooms with furniture and modern instructional materials with 16 toilets and solar-powered borehole at Aga Primary School in Ikorodu.

In Ibeju-Lekki, RCM Primary School, Iwerekun also got blocks of classrooms courtesy of the Senator . Ditto for Ajelogo Primary School in Kosofe and Igbobi Junior High School, where an ICT center was facilitated.

Six hundred brilliant but indigent students in tertiary institutions also benefited from a bursary scheme set up under the Senator’s Foundation, Tokunbo Abiru Constituency Team (TACT) Foundation.

In Epe, Senator Abiru facilitated a 960-spectator capacity mini stadium equipped with basketball and volleyball courts and rehabilitated the entire popular Oluwo market and increased the number of shops from 259 to 319 comprising lock-up shops, open sheds and 48 toilets.

The performing Senator also facilitated the construction of a 40-bed Health facility and Dental Centre at the Ikorodu Campus of the Lagos State Polytechnic (LASPOTECH), now known as the Lagos State University of Science and Technology. A 200-solar-powered street lights were attracted to the institution.

In the same manner, another 30-Bed Health facility at Mascara HealthCentre in Agboiyi Ketu LCDA was also provided to the people. Likewise, another 40-bed is under construction at Isiu, Ikorodu North LCDA.

The Senator also facilitated the supply and installation of transformers in several locations across the Lagos East Senatorial District.

To further spread prosperity across the district, in April, the Senator will unveil N300Million Constituency Intervention Revolving Loan Scheme at a very concessional Interest rate of 6 percent per annum for the benefit of MSMEs, Artisans and tradesmen in Lagos East.

The legislator has also set-up the Senator Abiru Innovation Lab (SAIL) in partnership with a renowned technology and Social Enterprise company, The Co-creation Hub (Cc-HUB) in Lagos to train youths in the senatorial district on relevant digital and innovation skills, and build the best entrepreneurs that can compete in the ever-dynamic global economy.

The audacity of the DoingGood Senator perseverance is something to behold. His character in pursuit of worthy goals is always steady and steely. He’s emotionally and mentally stable. No matter the challenges, Senator Abiru is always determined to surmount it all. You don’t usually see him buckle under pressure. To him, the difficulty of a task is not a viable excuse to avoid it. This is the kind of mindset and spirit leaders need to set the society on a strong footing. Abiru is a very principled minded individual. He is astute, sanguine and with a very discerning spirit properly warehoused in a tender minded heart. He is pleasant to be with. Very affable, even-tempered, mild-mannered and highly cosmopolitan but value cultures and traditions, he is loved by traditional leaders, they call him in Yoruba "Omo Agba" meaning Son of an elderly.

He has a very strong austere quality that makes for firmness of purpose and solidness of commitment. He has specious cognition with impeccable reasoning. He is extremely witty and mercurial. He combines brilliant exceptional skills at achieving success in all aspects of his endeavors with resilience of spirit. He is a non-conformist and an interruptor of unhealthy status-quo. Rarely do we find men willingly engage in hard, solid thinking for the betterment of self and humanity. There is an almost universal quest for easy answers and half-baked solutions. Nothing hurts much more than having to do critical thinking. That’s why many are big in quantity but very small in quality, with plans that move on the horizontal plane of time rather than on the vertical plane of eternity. Resultant of which many are just Lilliputian in substance.

The DoingGood Senator is different from the pack. He’s a thinker, a doer and a man of substance. He is not a periphery thinker and neither is he of low mentality stock. His foray into the political arena is for a just cause of uplifting humanity. He was and has always been very comfortable in his private undertakings before venturing to the public sector.

In the DoingGood Senator, I see a man who is not satisfied with his level of yesterday and wants to do more today. He always desires to do more. And these burning desires drive him to deliver more for the people. He often says to us that “you must do good today, tomorrow and always”. Maybe thats where the DoingGood name came from. He dislikes you giving excuses for failures even though he believes no one is perfect, he love team work. He is not just an asset to the people of Ikorodu, Lagos East or State. He is an asset to humanity that is still getting better and unraveling at 59.

I hope he takes a short break from service today in other to celebrate his birthday. I wish him peace, good health, and happiness. Congratulations and happy birthday my leader, mentor and father.

Politics / Lagos Can't Afford To Be In Opposition, Most Especially As Tinubu Leads by GiwaMoore1: 12:02pm On Mar 17, 2023
By Giwa Murtala Omotola-Moore

Lagos has long distinguished itself as a cosmopolitan centre. As home for everyone from different nationalities, tribes and of course, religion, the residents of Lagos just want the best in terms of social and economic dividends. Lagos state with its tremendous potentialities stand the chance of benefiting from Federal Government’s policies and programmes, particularly as the father of the modern smart city emerge as the President Elect.

As Nigerians celebrate the birth of a "Renewed Hope", Lagosians look forward to feeling the impact of the federal government more than ever before now that the father of the modern Lagos is now the President Elect, the alignment between the Federal Government and the state will enhance sustainable development. To this end, the electorates must ensure they vote the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate Mr Babajide Olusola Sanwo-olu again in other to continue the good work.

Lagos is the commercial capital of Nigeria and the state’s contribution to the nations GDP cannot be over emphasised. Lagos has always been on the opposition since the inception of this democratic dispensation and albeit short-changed by the opposition party at the centre. We can recall how Obasanjo led administration maltreatment caused the state, In 2015 it totally changed and this has helped in many ways. Going into opposition again with the Federal Government will not help the state to grow, below are 10 reasons to consider and make sure Lagos doesn’t go to the opposition once again.

1. Federal Government Owes Lagos

The Federal Government owes Lagos over N51 billion Naira. Imagine what that money will do if the state had access to such fund. Many of the state’s infrastructural problems would have been addressed. Lagos state needs to be in sync with Federal Government to get this paid, and this is the opportunity to get it right once and for all for the good of Lagos and the greater good of the nation at large.

2. Lagos needs Federal Presence

The Federal Government have in the past halted federal projects and even went as far as obstructing state projects in Lagos state because Lagos has been an opposition. If the APC is returned to office, giving Lagos the opportunity to be on the side of the federal government for the first time, all abandoned Federal Government buildings and projects can be put to better use and completed. Lagos will be able to persuade the Federal Government to embark on urban renewal and build new towns in Lagos as was done in the time of Shehu Shagari.

3. Lagos deserves special status

Lagos state deserves a Special Status as Economic Capital of Nigeria. With the level of financial contribution to the nations GDP, being on the side of the Federal Government will make it easier to get that recognition.

4. Lagos contributes a lot to the nations GDP

70% of Nationally collected VAT is from Lagos. Yet Lagos gets no preference from Federal Government when allocation is being shared.

5. Attention to pollution and the environment

With a population of over 20 million people, Lagos state hardly benefit from Ecological funds. Even though it needs it more than any other state due to pollution from the large population.

6. Power generation

The only reason why Lagos residents are not enjoying 24hrs power supply is because it has been in the opposition. Lagos has the capacity to build IPP for Lagosians and deliver 24hrs power in a matter of 2 years but the law that every electricity generated must be fed to the national grid has been a major obstacle.

7. Opposition will destroy Lagos

Lagos state has been on a steady rise in its development and opposition will only reverse the trend of progress.

8. Federal Projects

Federal Roads and Bridges in Lagos need rehabilitation and this can easily be achieved with Lagos on the side of the ruling party. For example, the quagmire at Apapa and the International Airport Road can finally be sorted out.

9. Over stretched social amenities

People from every ethnic group and different nationalities are represented in Lagos state which stretches the social facilities in the state. The presence of the federal government in Lagos will go a long way to curb this trend.

10. Nigeria’s prosperity depends on Lagos

Prosperity of Nigeria is tied to the prosperity of Lagos. This is Common sense politics. Vote APC. Vote Sanwo Olu to keep Lagos working and for accelerated growth and progress. This is our chance to get what we really deserve. Lagos can see the promised land and should not consider going back to Egypt.

Moreover, Governor Sanwo-olu deserves our commendation and support, given his performance in critical sectors, such as education, health, road construction, housing, agriculture, among others. The governor has ensured that every part of Lagos State is witnessing exponential development. A governor that has shown this great capacity in leadership, it is proper we allow him continue his good work beyond 2023.

Lagos is definitely on the move always. From the last quarter of this year, the Red Line of the Lagos light rail which runs from Alagbado to CMS would begin operation while the Blue Line which runs from Okokomaiko to CMS would start running in the first quarter of 2023. Already, finishing touches are being put on these rail lines which would forever change the Lagos landscape and scope of public transportation. Other lines to crisscross the state are also in the pipeline.

Indeed, if they ask you what has Sanwo-olu done to deserve a second term, show them this that governor Sanwo-Olu is also building Africa’s biggest children’s hospital called Massey’s Children’s hospital and acquired 120 brand-new compactor trucks for LAWMA last year that cost over N80M per one with 100 mega industrial size bins as LAWMA will soon start resuming by 4AM.

In fact, Governor Sanwo-Olu is also building a world class fishery company called LACE to be launched next year and converted LASPOTECH and AOCOED to full-time universities, also launched the last mile buses, LAGOS RIDE cab hailing service, bought new made in Nigeria ferries and speed boats and added well over 100 brand new BRT BUSES to the existing ones, despite the fact that some were burnt during the EndSars crises.

One of the major takeaways from the first term in office of Governor Sanwo-Olu is that a leader will always achieve good governance when honesty, passion and vision brought into policy-making and execution are greater than fears and excuses.

Despite fundamental challenges such as COVID-19, #EndSARS violence and global economic downturn economic among others, the Sanwo-Olu administration has continued to bring dividends of democracy to the people.

It is, therefore, heart-warming that the governor is seeking to be re-elected for a second tenure. In my view, this is good news for the residents of the state. Sanwo-Olu has used a greater part of his first term in office to improve their living condition.

In the last three and a half years, the Sanwo-Olu administration has completed and commissioned more than 970 road projects. These include the Agege Pen Cinema Bridge, Oniru network of roads, Ikoyi network of roads, Lagos-Ogun Boundary roads Phase II, Lekki Oniru Traffic Circulation Projects and 37 networks of roads in Ojokoro.

Others are Isawo-Agric road, Ikorodu, Oshodi-Abule-Egba BRT lane, Ijede Road Phase 1 in Ikorodu, Tedi-Muwo Link Bridge, Lagos-Ogun boundary Roads in Alimosho and 6 reconfigured Roundabouts – Allen, Ikotun, Maryland, Lekki and Ajah among others.

Similarly, four Mother and Child Centers (MCCs) in Epe, Ajah, Badagry and Igando were completed and commissioned, while the reconstruction of the New Massey’s Street Children Hospital in Lagos Island is on course. When completed, it will be the biggest Children’s Hospital in Africa.

Comprehensive renovation of public health facilities is equally ongoing at Ebute-Meta Health Centre, Harvey Road Health Centre, General Hospital, Odan, Lagos, General Hospital, Isolo, Ketu-Ejirin Health Centre. The administration has also revamped the Jigi Bola initiative (blindness preventive programme) across all LGs and LCDAs in the state.

In doubt? get whites to study Yoruba as a language and see how it goes.

Politics / Lagos 2023: Labour Party Candidate & His Identity Crisis From Chinedu To Gbadeo by GiwaMoore1: 10:40am On Mar 13, 2023
Written By Giwa Murtala Omotola-Moore

It's sound so funny watching the Gubernatorial candidate of Labour Party during an interview session on Arise TV’s Morning show on Sunday. Where he made it known that he has hired a Yoruba teacher because he was interested in learning how to speak Yoruba and also understand the deep history of Yoruba language. Why is it now that he is interested in learning how to speak the language of those he wants to govern ?.

The candidate of Labour party in lagos state is having a serious identity crisis, INEC and Lagosians need to be very vigilant about his Identity, from Chinedu to Patrick, he said his tribal name is Gbadebo, the name he can't defend, this is a man that want to be Governor of a State dominated by a particular ethnic group and he can't speak the language of the ethnic group that dominate such state. It's abysmally abysmal.

On his MIT certificate we can only see the Patrick Rhodes Vivour boldy written on it, The Gbadebo he called himself is not even appearing on his certificate. Whenever he wants to contest he comes up with different names and different Identity;

Patrick Rhodes-Vivour - 2008

Gbadebo Chinedu Rhodes-Vivour - 2019

Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour - 2017/2023

Why all the lies just for the sake of politics, Chinedu is only good to be used to deceive the Igbos while Gbadebo is only good to be used to deceive the Yorubas, he couldn’t even use any of the names on his MIT certificate. Such a fraud, inconsistent fellow, claiming where he is not from and can't even speak the language people from the state understand, it's a big slap on the culture and traditions of the people within that territory.

How will he interact with the market women (Iya Oloja's), if eventually he emerge as Governor of the state, majority of these women hardly interact in another language except from Yoruba. He was unable to speak Yoruba when he was called for an interview, he said it himself that people often laugh at him if he wants to speak Yoruba. This is the first time in history we will see such person with questionable Identity contesting for the post of Governor in Lagos state.

It's understandable If an igbo man speaks Yoruba fluently, at least you will know that he learnt it as a second language. He will never tell you that he is a Yoruba man. Where is the identity of a Yoruba man who can't speak his language and who would like to govern a yoruba state?, how will he communicate with the indigenous Yorubas as a Yoruba man?.

His certificate should carry same name with all his verifiable names. I checked Wikipedia the Patrick on his certificate is not appearing on the site. His MIT certificate is the only certificate that shows Patrick Rhodes-Vivour not Patrick Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour. In the midst of Yoruba's he call himself Gbadebo, in the midst of Igbo's he call himself Chinedu, his identity is questionable.

He used the name Patrick abroad, used Chinedu while contesting in Lagos West Senatorial district in 2019 because of the heavy presence of Igbos in the district. In 2023, he switched to Gbadebo just to appear indigenous and to deceive the Yorubas. If am to recruit him for a job, I would never consider him with the MIT certificate. There is a huge disparity between his name and the certificate. He should let us see his birth certificate, International passport, NIN or the name on his BVN in public.

The exponential potential for consolidated growth in Lagos, potentially the 3rd largest economy in Africa, cannot be subjected to gambling. The seat of Lagos Governor is not an experimental platform for any random person without any credible track record in governance or anybody with a questionable identity. Lagosians will never vote for someone that can't boldly identify with his ethnic group.
