That is what you get from schooling in Nigeria. Most naija graduates had their own share of protracted industrial actions.

I am not aware of the Strike
you see that is the problem ! Most people don't know there is an ongoing strike...i just want the media to blow it up before it paralyses some of us who are victims
EducationSSANU; NASU Strike - A Thorn In Our Flesh by GlassDoc(op): 11:59am On Jan 07, 2016
Just wondering if my friends and I are the only victims of the ongoing strike by SSANU and NASU. I have applied for my transcript for over two weeks( before the strike- 24th Dec) and the processing has not even begun because the strike has paralysed activities in the University. Some friends were there to do their clearance so as to qualify for the NYSC and also become certified graduates but the strike has put them on hold. I just keep wondering why our educational system is plagued with incessant stikes. Even though this recent strike seems uncalled for and callous; as it has made me see these actions as a haven by these workers or an opportunity for a recess. As if the yuletide season is not over ! It's our plea that the government should wave in and SSANU/ NASU should reach a comprise with them. It is annoying that much has not been done yet. Call off the strike plsssss and let us move forward in this new year..

EducationRe: How To Achieve High Scores On The GRE by GlassDoc: 2:44pm On Dec 24, 2015
I am sorry for sharing my GRE experience later than expected.
I arrived the exam cntre( JKK) later than the scheduled time (10:00am). Lateness could have been avoided bt i cared less, bcus i had once taken GRE, towards the d tail end of my service year. JKK was my centre n the experience at that time instigated my complacency about
punctuality. Appearing at d centre, i was taken aback by the ets officials wen they asked that i step out. I shuddered n thought within myself "i can't miss this exam na." I was practically abt 30mins late. Not more than! To cut the story short, i was attended 2 after evry other person had been settled and i later observed i wasn't d last to arrive d centre.
The analytical writing section was cool. I didn't struggle to have a grasp of the topics. Though 'exam tension' caught up wit me while i typed n impeded d flow, i managed to complete d section.
The other sections were structured as VQVQV. The verbal questions were typical of d GRE and so were d quants too. However, my problem wit quants had to do with time management. Most times i got carried away trying to solve a questn. Alloting time to each questns is a good idea, unfortunately, i only did that during my preparations. I am oblivious as to why i never replicated d approach on d D-day.
GRE verbal is doable! If you can read n understand d RC, then chances are that you will answer most if nt all d questions correctly. Manhattan is the real deal for array of RC questions and other sections of verbal too nt necessary including AWA.
With the Power prep, i had V152 n Q150 but on actual test day; V152 n Q149. May be not perfect because i had one month and half to prepare but it's better than my first attempt - V142 n Q144. I never new how crazy it could be to take GRE without preparation then. I pounced at it and got ricocheted...Lolz.. I guess i was desperate. I immediately developed phobia 4 GRE afterwards n never gave it much thought again, until lately after encouragement from my padis like centrix n ebdib and the ginger emanating from this thread.
RECOMMENDATION
1. Just like other testifiers have said, i will reitterate that prospective candidates should commence pratice wit Baron and later Manhattan.
2. Get a hard copy of vocabulary lists; most esp GRE vocab lists. Learn new words n always scout for vocabs, write d meaning n use them @ opportune times to concretize them.
3. Use power prep to monitor ur score for improvement. The simulate test is a perfect tool to keep track of your performance. Ensure you don't over use or familiarize urself wit the prep's questions, otherwise you may lose its relavance as a litmus test.

NOTE:
1. Those with top GRE scores worked hard for it. You just have to practise, practise and pratise.
2. GRE questions can be repeated, but the probability that u will come across any is slim. One verbal question 4rm power prep was repeated for me.
3.The more practice n study you do, the more confident n less apprenhensive you will be.

Thanks to all stakeholders on this thread, we shall all succeed by God's grace!

took GRE at JKK yesterday. V152 : Q149, Agg:301. Though, it could have been better, but no more time for preparation. thankful to God it isn't bad and i can advance to the next stage. GRE humbled people yesterday at JKK ehn that some refused to leave the centre. So pathetic.

I told all my apc friends who are southerners that their vote doesn™ mean shiit.......I said I didn't have any iota of hope for buhari and they told me exactly what u wrote.....buhari would rule for 8 years......the only thing that would stop him is death.......
you know the "people" in democracy have grown belicose in fighting 4 their right all over the world. It's no longer business as usual...8yrs will only be possible if he delivers. But for now let's keep our fingers crossed.
