Shelumiel: Let me start by saying this :
1.No offense to the working folks out there o, but what's the long term advantage for employees besides a pension plan...(I'll leave as a rhetorical question) ?
2. For entrepreneurial success, you need to know what you're getting into : have the right information regarding the business and also know how to add value to whatever service you're offering(this is the shortest route to success in business. And how do I know? Because I've tried it and it works).
3. And as for overcoming fear, the solution is simple : do something ; don't procrastinate ; just do something! So even if you'll fail, you'll know that you tried and you'll learn from whatever mistakes you've made.
Peace. You've said it all. Very insightful response. |

[quote author=Powerfly post=95311957]you're just behind me.
I talk alot. I get my facts right or almost, before arguing. So it's hard to win an arguement with me. I conceal my emotions. Especially jealousy. I forgive easily. I'm very sarcastic. I'm wierd to some extent. I love music, arts, poetry and travelling. I'm very inquisitive. you'll always catch me smiling sheepishly. It's hard or impossible trying to convince me to change my mind or beliefs. I'm that type of girl that can't say no! When i have. I'm a realist! I do not like to live in hope all the time. I say things the way it seems to me. I'm extremely friendly and jovial. Some People do take advantage of this. I think alot. This is also my weakness. I believe in love without boundaries. I have a rebellious side that hates being told what to do or how to think. When i'm angry, i give the silent treatment. I often withdraw from the crowd, to be by myself to think clearly. Do you relate with any of those?[/quote Are you an extrovert or ambivert? |

urchcoded: How have I not seen this thread since. Well my own case is almost extreme cos it affects my relationship with family. I just basically don't want anybody to talk to me except i talk to you first. I think I've been this way since I was a kid even though mine was coupled with low self esteem cos I could remember my dad will tell me of an incident that happened one day he took me to crunchies for a Kid he opened the door and entered as a kid that is supposed to be excited and run in with him, i stayed back timidly at the door till he came back to grab me by the hand. Primary school also had it's toll on me as I had an accident that gave me a very scattered dentition. I was nicknamed Dracula. I hated going to school even tho I always came first or second. Growing up and entering the university, I made a deliberate attempt to boost my self esteem. It hasn't been easy but I've made very huge progress. I told myself hei boy look you are not bad looking, you are intelligent, you are skillful ( I was one of the best keyboardist in my school) so you have no reason to be timid. A milestone achievement was when people asked me to run for the post of the departmental president. In my mind I was like Lol me? E be like una no know d Kain person I be. People just generally liked me. I rejected the offer even tho they promised to buy form for me and take care of the campaigning. But the thought didn't leave my mind. And something kept on telling me, nigga you can do this. I wasn't scared of losing the election I was just timid to declare my intentions to run. I finally made up my mind a day to the election and hence no publicity was made. I prepared a lit manifesto but timidly presented it. But all the same I won by a wide margin. I couldn't believe this. Now even tho o never got to use the office because all students unionism was banned a week after due to a protest. So I don't know how I would av performed as a Dept president cos I know I no fit shout upon the greatest gba gba. Lolx... But I always feel proud about it. I'm still introverted to the core but have gradually overcome low self-esteem. I hope this inspires someone. Inspiring! You're an alumnus of the University of Lagos, I guess. |

iLegendd: They should not worry, I'm working on permanently leaving the country for them eat. I need to finally japa for life.
Anyway, haters don't exist. They are just a bunch of depressed lazy rats looking for who to bring into their miseries.
Samsong, in his song, Bianulé, said, "Misery is not for me." The reason my "haters" are miserable is because of envy.
No matter what a man owns or flaunts, don't envy him because you can be better if you stay focused and work towards your goals.
What I said above is for anyone who is feeling down and loves pouring his anger on others. No, don't do that, work on yourself and you'll smile at last. In this life, all we are looking for is joy — nothing, but joy.
When you spoil another man's joy, you're delaying your own joy. This is one of the reasons I don't attack people or Nairalanders — they are always the ones to first attack me. #Smile. Hi, bro. Can you share a step by step process on how you out a research on quality content for your books? |

Romance › Re: Ladies/Men Who Are In Relationships With Introverts, Share Your Experiences. by Gleez: 12:25pm On Jul 27, 2019 |
destinyy23: My dear, I won't say it's completely my effort, God played the bigger role. I'm someone who pray and trust God a lot so that helped. After my first degree, I had a first class and it really got me bothered. I was wondering, what would people say about a first class graduate who can't speak boldly in public? What if I get a lecturing job? How do I cope? So during NYSC, I made it a duty to always speak whenever we had a gathering, gradually, I began participating actively at CDS. I served in a university and sometimes, I had to take students through lab sessions. Fast forward after service, I applied for MSc, got the admission and first thing I did was join the board of lectors (I'm catholic and board of lectors read before the congregations) and also became active at fellowships, so, l'm sometimes called upon to moderate the fellowship or to lead praises & worship. All these helped. I became a class representative too, it's my duty to coordinate the postgraduate students and relate with lecturers too on their behalf I started looking out for conferences and submitted my papers. I never imagined I could talk so well before a large crowd. About the honesty part, it still scares me cos Nigeria is dominated by lots of dishonest people and they would see you as 'not smart enough'. cos you stand for the truth. It's left for you to either stand out of the crowd or compromise your standards to be like the majority. As for me, I chose the former. Do have a beautiful day. Highly impressive and inspiring! It shows you possess strong leadership qualities and the ability to achieve set goals regardless of the challenges you may face. I'm Catholic as well, so I understand the role of board of lectors. Quite an alluring personality you've got. Keep soaring high. Hope you'll make a first class again, in your master's program. All the best! |

destinyy23: Same here. I'm fucking honest. January too. Can stay indoors for weeks without stepping out. Used to be so shy and can't talk in the crowd but have seriously worked on that aspect. I now attend and present at conferences to the glory of God. Wow! It's amazing how you've been able to completely transform your mind and character. Care to share how you worked on improving yourself? How long did it take? About the "honesty" part, how do you cope with it when you find yourself among people who are dishonest? I've always pictured myself, through my mind's eye addressing people at conferences, but in reality I barely talk much. I often feel choked up each time I find myself in a crowded place. Lol! Really interested in knowing what steps you took in overcoming shyness. |
