CCTV footage has captured the shocking moment gunmen snatched a car from a young man last night at Alakahia, Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

In the video, the car owner is seen walking to his vehicle and getting into the driver’s seat. Another man, believed to be his friend, was also seen approaching the car but appeared to pause briefly to speak with someone before finally getting into the front passenger seat. Moments later, a young lady walked up to the driver’s side and was seen having a conversation with the driver.

While they were still talking, a Toyota Camry drove past slowly, then reversed and parked right behind them. Immediately after the lady walked away, three men stepped out of the Camry — one of them holding a gun, which he pointed at the driver while ordering him to get out of the car. One of the gunmen also opened the front passenger door, instructing the friend to step out.

The armed men then entered the vehicle and sped off.

According to the car owner, he initially thought the men were SARS officers and that it was just a prank — until they drove away with his car.

A Nigerian lady has taken to social media to express how overwhelming it is to work in the UK, even as a fine girl. According to her, nobody cares how beautiful you are, and she now misses Nigeria deeply.

In the emotional clip, the lady struggled to find her voice for a few seconds, silently sobbing before finally speaking. Crying, she said in Pidgin, “8 to 8, 12 hours… body go tell you.” She then let out a painful laugh before quietly saying goodbye to the camera.

In other words, nobody cares whether you’re a fine girl or not — you must work hard like everyone else. Many have interpreted her statement to mean that, unlike in Nigeria where being attractive might earn you some favors, in the UK beauty doesn’t spare you from hard work.

Tension erupted at the Sani Abacha Stadium in Kano on Sunday, October 12, 2025, after Shooting Stars netted a dramatic 94th-minute equalizer against Kano Pillars, forcing the game to end in a 1-1 draw.

Moments after the goal, angry Kano Pillars fans invaded the pitch and went after the referee, accusing him of biased officiating. Their frustration reportedly stemmed from several controversial decisions during the match, including disallowed goals and unawarded penalty appeals.

Security operatives quickly moved in to restore order, firing tear gas to disperse the furious supporters and protect players and officials—some of whom were said to have been attacked in the chaos.

The Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) is expected to launch an investigation into the incident and could impose sanctions on Kano Pillars for their fans’ unruly behavior.

CrimeRe: Southern Kaduna Farmers Paint Faces Black, March Barefoot Over Herders’ Attacks by Glimpsetv(op): 8:50pm On Oct 06, 2025
Summary:
Farmers in Southern Kaduna, mostly women, painted their faces black and marched barefoot to a traditional ruler’s palace, singing sorrowfully and crying out in pain to protest repeated herders’ attacks. The protest highlights years of unresolved farmer-herder conflicts, driven by land disputes, ethnic and religious tensions, and weak law enforcement, leaving rural communities feeling abandoned and desperate for peace.
CrimeSouthern Kaduna Farmers Paint Faces Black, March Barefoot Over Herders’ Attacks by Glimpsetv(op): 8:47pm On Oct 06, 2025
Farmers in Southern Kaduna — mostly women — painted their faces black and marched barefoot to a traditional ruler’s palace in a powerful protest against repeated attacks by herders. As they walked, the women were heard singing in sorrowful voices and letting out painful cries, expressing years of grief, frustration, and loss over the unending violence in their communities.

Although details about this particular protest remain limited, it reflects a long-standing and painful pattern of farmer-herder conflicts in the region.

For years, Southern Kaduna — along with other parts of Nigeria such as Zamfara and Plateau — has witnessed recurring violence between herders and farming communities. The clashes are often fueled by disputes over land and water resources, but deeper ethnic and religious tensions, the impacts of climate change, and weak law enforcement have further worsened the crisis.

Despite government efforts to maintain religious and ethnic balance in leadership, these measures have done little to reduce insecurity or heal the divisions driving the conflict.

Civic and community leaders continue to call for solution-driven summits focused on lasting peace, urging authorities to put community safety above politics.

In late September 2025, a peace gathering was held in Kaduna, where both farmers and herders reportedly pledged to embrace dialogue and peaceful coexistence. However, it remains unclear whether the same groups who participated in that event were part of the recent protest.

The October 2025 protest underscores the deep frustration and growing sense of abandonment among rural communities in Southern Kaduna, who say they have suffered disproportionately from years of unchecked violence.

Nigerian street-hop star Portable was reportedly involved in a confrontation at the Port Harcourt International Airport on Sunday, October 5, 2025.

Viral footage circulating online shows the singer in a heated altercation, being restrained by security personnel as he tried to confront an unidentified individual. Despite efforts by armed guards to calm him down, Portable repeatedly struggled to break free, pushing forward in anger.

At one point in the video, he was seen holding a rope-like object, which some observers on social media described as “juju”—a term used for traditional African charms or spiritual items.

Addressing the incident the next day in an Instagram video (Monday, October 6), Portable claimed he was ambushed by a group of “pranksters” who are notorious for creating staged viral videos. According to him, they had insulted him and attempted to record him without his consent, sparking his reaction.

He further alleged that the encounter was a deliberate setup aimed at tarnishing his image and urged the government to take action against what he called “death pranksters” and bloggers spreading fake news.

In the viral clip, blue-uniformed airport security officers were seen escorting the visibly agitated musician away from the scene toward a waiting vehicle.

Portable, known for his controversial public antics and the viral hit song “Zazu Zeh,” once again finds himself at the center of public attention.

PoliticsRe: Benin Market Women Celebrate Oba’s Bold Stand Against Tinubu’s Daughter (photos) by Glimpsetv(op): 4:30pm On Oct 05, 2025
Summary:
The Oba of Benin, Oba Ewuare II, has rejected the introduction of the Iyaloja title in Benin Kingdom, describing it as foreign to Benin tradition. This followed an attempt by President Tinubu’s daughter, Folashade Tinubu-Ojo, to appoint Pastor Josephine Ibhaguezejele as Iyaloja of Edo State. The Oba clarified that Benin markets are led by Iyeki, chosen by traders and confirmed by the palace, not by any central authority. Market women and opposition figures hailed the Oba’s firm stance, condemning the move as political interference and praising him for protecting Benin’s cultural heritage.

Benin Market Women Celebrate Oba’s Courage in Rejecting Iyaloja Imposition by Tinubu’s Daughter

Market women across Benin are rejoicing and praising the Oba of Benin, His Royal Majesty Oba Ewuare II, for his bold stance in rejecting the attempt to introduce the title of Iyaloja into Benin Kingdom — a title he firmly described as foreign to Benin tradition.

The incident unfolded on October 4, 2025, when Oba Ewuare II turned down the proposed installation of Pastor Josephine Ibhaguezejele as the Iyaloja of Edo State, an appointment allegedly backed by Folashade Tinubu-Ojo, daughter of President Bola Tinubu and the current Iyaloja-General of Nigeria.

In his response, the Oba made it clear that Benin markets operate under a completely different structure from what exists in Yoruba land. According to him, market affairs in Benin are overseen by women known as Iyeki, not Iyaloja.

He explained that each market has its own Iyeki, chosen democratically by the traders and later confirmed by the palace. There is, he emphasized, no concept of a centralized Iyeki-General or Iyaloja-General in Benin culture.

The Oba further noted that the Iyeki serves both cultural and spiritual roles within the market on behalf of the palace—responsibilities that only true indigenes of the land can carry out.

Following the development, members of the Edo State Market Women Association strongly opposed the attempted appointment, describing it as a direct violation of Benin customs and an unnecessary political imposition.

They expressed deep gratitude to the Oba for standing firm in defense of their heritage and reaffirmed their unflinching loyalty to the palace-approved system of market leadership.

The recognized leader of the Edo State Market Women Association, Madam Blacky Ogiamen, also paid a courtesy visit to the Oba to personally convey their appreciation for his intervention and support.

The attempted installation of Pastor Ibhaguezejele, which had already taken place at the Edo Government House before Tinubu-Ojo’s visit to the Oba’s Palace, was widely criticized by many as a disrespectful and politically driven affront to the Benin monarchy.

Several opposition figures, including members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), also condemned the move, describing it as a politically motivated attempt to exert influence in the state.

The PDP has since called on Governor Monday Okpebholo to issue a public apology for allowing such an installation to be held at the Government House in the first place.

Summary:
Supporters of 92-year-old Cameroonian President Paul Biya are campaigning for his re-election with only his portrait, as health issues keep him away. His long absences, tight control of state media, and lack of a clear successor have fueled anger, with critics — including his daughter Brenda Biya — opposing his decades-long rule.
Foreign AffairsUproar As Biya’s Supporters Campaign With His Portrait Amid Incapacitation(pix) by Glimpsetv(op): 10:04am On Sep 24, 2025
Supporters of Cameroon’s President Paul Biya have resorted to using his portrait as the centerpiece of his re-election campaign for the October 2025 presidential polls. At 92 years old, Biya’s advanced age and frequent private trips abroad have severely limited his public appearances, leaving his image to stand in for him on the campaign trail.

The unusual sight of campaigning with portraits has fueled speculation about his health and drawn comparisons to fictional scenarios where a leader remains in power despite being visibly absent. Biya currently holds the record as the world’s oldest head of state and is Africa’s second-longest-serving leader.

For years, his health has been the subject of quiet debate, especially whenever he disappears from public view for extended periods, often while in Geneva, Switzerland. Yet, such discussions remain tightly controlled. The ruling Cameroon People’s Democratic Movement (CPDM), which dominates state media, has banned public talk about the president’s health, declaring it a matter of national security.

Campaigning on Biya’s behalf is largely managed through social media and official statements coordinated by his cabinet. His inner circle remains committed to securing his re-election, a strategy widely seen as a way to prevent a destabilizing power struggle within the ruling party. With no clear successor in sight, many Cameroonians—particularly younger citizens—feel politically sidelined and voiceless.

The president’s prolonged stay in power has fueled frustration among opposition figures and ordinary citizens alike. Critics argue that his advanced age and long absences have slowed down the nation’s development and weakened democratic governance.

Biya’s decision to contest again has also triggered cracks within his once-loyal base. Some former allies and ministers have broken away, declaring their intention to run against him. Adding to the tension, his daughter, Brenda Biya, reportedly took to social media to call on citizens not to re-elect her father, openly criticizing his decades-long grip on power.

The reliance on portraits rather than the president himself to drive the campaign underscores his role as what many now call an “absentee president.” It also reflects the tightly controlled political climate that has enabled him to cling to power for decades, even with limited public presence.

On September 23, 2025, at the United Nations, U.S. President Donald Trump dismissed climate change, calling it the “greatest con job” ever. In his speech, he criticized the UN and environmental policies, describing them as a “green scam” that harms economies. His remarks clash with the position of scientists, who insist climate change is real, human-driven, and worsening—citing rising temperatures, stronger storms, and melting ice. The UN continues to warn that delaying action will have catastrophic consequences for the planet and humanity.
