BusinessUntouchable Dauda Lawal: The Golden Boy Of The North by Globalotunba(op): 4:59pm On Jul 29, 2016
On March 29, 2015, when President Muhammadu Buhari made the statement “I belong to everyone and I belong to nobody”, a lot of people didn’t believe he meant what he had said.

However, as his anti-corruption fight started and took shape the President gathered fans.

As corrupt individuals were picked and prosecuted he gathered more fans.

The President’s fans are however dwindling, and this is not because of the poor economy, but his seeming one sided fight against corruption.

Industry Watchers are shouting nepotism, as the supposed fight against corruption seems a war against only the South, West and the East.

As it is, corrupt individuals from the Northern part of Nigeria seem the safest of individuals irrespective of their crimes.

In recent times, individuals from the Southern and Eastern parts of Nigeria seem to have become target of the Ibrahim Magu-led Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

A typical case of the nepotism being screamed is that of Dauda Lawal, an Executive Director in charge of Public Affairs in a first generation bank

Life has not been fair to one-time Chairman of Skye Bank Plc, Tunde Ayeni.

Like a gamble, Ayeni has fallen, but rather than stand up prim and proper, he has stumbled again.

Barely a month after losing control of Skye Bank Plc with the sacking of the bank’s board by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Ayeni has suffered another loss again.

BusinessEfcc: No Solution In Sight For Crook First Bank Director, Dauda Lawal by Globalotunba(op): 3:53pm On Jul 09, 2016
Prior to the commencement of President Muhhamadu Buhari’s anti-corruption fight, it was normal for an investigation to frizzle out.

However, no more. Like they say a “new Sheriff is in town.” In fact, the Sheriffs are two.

Presently, the unpleasant dour oozing from the investigation of First Bank Plc Executive Director, Dauda Lawal, by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), has simply refused to disappear.

Nairaland GeneralOJB Jezreel Burial: Shame On The Music Industry by Globalotunba(op): 6:19pm On Jun 21, 2016
By Hazeez Balogun

The death of OJB Jezreel did not come as a shock to me. I was not only expecting his death, I was actually shocked he could live that long. The man was a fighter, and many in his condition would have expired long before now.
I was not wishing death on him but I was well aware of his situation and I knew he was living on borrowed time. He told me that himself. Shortly after returning from India when he had a kidney transplant, he had told a few close friends that his body was rejecting the kidney. It would cost even much more to have another operation talk less of the wait to get a donor. But the fighter fought on till God finally said it was time. Read more:

Nairaland GeneralMaking People Happy Is Part Of Me- Queen Ure Okezie by Globalotunba(op): 2:39pm On Jun 14, 2016
Many know Queen Ure Okezie as the Popori Queen. Indeed she is that and more. In this interview with our reporter, she speaks about music; charity; marriage and more.

A lot of people still remember you as Queen Ure the singer who was involved with a certain Soul E several years back. What have you been up to, and is there a new you?

There obviously can’t be a new Queen Ure. Queen Ure is in a constant state of evolution, continuously evolving positively. My company Dream and Become International is basically into four things that are together somehow. The first is training and coaching and our core areas of service excellence are marketing skills, team building and customer satisfaction. In addition to training and coaching, we do a lot of charity work. That is my passion, something I have always done and will always do. So, every quarter we go out touching lives. We give out things to different organisations. Our seventh charity outing will be on Saturday, June 18.

Where would you be going?

We will be going to Precious Pearls Orphanage in Egbeda, Lagos.

Prior to now, where have you visited?

We have been to the Medium Security Prison, Kirikiri, Lagos; Little Saint Orphanage; Bethesda Home for the blind; Wellspring Rehabilitation Centre; Heart of Gold Children Hospice and the Lagos State Old People’s Home. So, it’s very fulfilling for me. In addition to charity we are into hairs. I have always being a hair person and we have turned that into a business. We have our own brands of human hair, the Popori Waves and the Popori Curls. You know my brand is Popori and so all my products are named after the brand. Of course, apart from hairs we also do music. Definitely, we have Popori One and Popori Two; we have a video mix and Popori DVD.
