Could anyone recommend a summer vacation destination that meets the following criteria? - No visa requirement or an easy visa process (preferably outside the UK) - Relatively inexpensive - A great atmosphere for relaxation - Opportunities for sightseeing - Most importantly, plenty of activities for children I remember @Lexusgs430 mentioned a place that is fantastic for kids a few months ago, but I can't seem to find it in the thread. Can you advise, please? @Lexusgs430 |
Please experienced medical people in the house; @jedisco etc, I have a quick question and your insights would be appreciated. For a person who already works as a band 3 Clinical Support Worker in the nursing department; between pursuing a higher role in the nursing department (band 5) or switching to a biomedical scientist conversion path (band 5) using a relevant BSc course, which do you think is MORE EASIER TO ACHIEVE within 6-12 months. Note: Ultimate aim is to leverage these roles to more leadership higher band roles and not necessarily remain a nurse or biomedical scientist for too long. |
So the only reason you want a wife is for her to be your cook. 🙄🙄 No be so, mate! rock86: |
Elders in the house, I would like to ask a question as I've just started my credit card game. My last Capital One statement (statement close date) was issued on June 23rd and the payment was due on July 19th. I was expecting the next statement to be issued on July 23rd, but it's already July 31st and I still don't have a statement. How does the statement close date work if it's not the same day every month? And how can I plan my direct debit repayment when the statement close date is inconsistent? Thank you very much. |
Ok. Thank you. It was taking forever to load, hence thought it’s not working. I will keep trying. Thanks a lot PJtech: |
My Nigerian debit card has expired. Anybody has an idea or pointers on how I can get another one? Are virtual cards a viable option? My bank is GTB. Thank you for your help. |
I am in Clacton at the moment, and I am really concerned about the way Reform is conducting their campaign. They are the loudest, but they only seem to talk about immigration. To them, immigration is the sole reason for all the issues in the UK. 🙄🙄

Good day, house Please I need clarity on my credit journey. In a quest to ramp up my credit history to position for early mortgage in the UK… - I have tried to upgrade my contract only sim with Vodafone to phone + sim but got declined. - I have tried to open (activate) my Experian account, also got declined because my details can’t be verified. - My credit score with transunion seems to be crawling at 562 after 5 months of being in the UK. - I didn’t qualify for CapitalOne Card. - ClearScore (Equifax) didn’t also give me much product option It’s looking to me like building my credit history will take minimum of 2 years to even begin the journey. Yet I keep seeing people here having fantastic credit score after 5 months of being in the Uk or getting a mortgage after 2 years. My question: What practical steps can I take to ramp up my credit history and position for early mortgage with my short UK residence history? Thanks you 🙏 |

No now! Please read my response well! I am practically angry with the whole wicked set up self. giselle237: |
It’s true, please. Salad Master is so expensive, they don’t display it in any store, they demonstrate to potential rich prospects to sell it. One may never hear of it if you are not in a certain income bracket because the marketers carefully qualify their prospects. I wonder how a “supposed family” member will be wicked enough to force it on people still trying to find their feet in the UK lavida001: |
This is all shades of unfair. Because of the space I play in, I know Salad Master cookware very well. It has a lifetime warranty but because it’s so expensive, they don’t display it in any store, the only way they market is by free demonstration. Meaning, they only demonstrate with their set and never with the one they want you to buy. So please know the game they played was a calculated wickedness. Please give this a fight. yolkman20: |
This is a big no! You can’t carry over your unused 20 hours quota. elengine: |

Please use your present place of work as work reference, since that is the truth. Don't over complicate your matter. It's when you are not truthful that you tend to have issues. NB: Many people have used reference from companies not active on CAC and have their visas today. It's your wife that would need to upload your marriage certificate when she is applying. Just mention that you are married and include her details Don0109: |
Please house, Does this require a transit Visa? Thank you
|
Thanks a lot! And you wouldn’t be needing a transit visa for Turkish Airline, right? fablyn1010: |
Thanks a lot! Please can you talk me through how to navigate going through this route without any issue? 2Grfehypeman: |
Please can anyone guide on where to book for flight through Cotonou and pay. I tried Google flight but couldn’t make payment using the local Cotonou rates/ and mastercard |
Please house, can passport be picked on Saturday at TLS Ikeja or one would have to go on Monday? Edit: The answer is “No” according to their website. But I saw people at the centre last Saturday hence why I assume they can return passport at this time too. |
No mail. Just updated status this morning. Please any idea?

Noted. Thanks a lot Goodly1: |
Thanks a lot for this advice. Yes, I had planned to enroll for MSc in Biomedical Science, but the government policy affected my deposit arrangements, hence I missed the deadline. But I will write to HCPC as recommended. I sincerely appreciate you. Gift7428: |
Thank you. I appreciate. Embarking on another MSc after the present one is a cost I am not sure I can accommodate at this time though. Is there any other way to onboard a nursing career or even a biomedical science career? I wouldn’t mind a lower band, provided it’s a pathway to sponsorship. A lot of things still look sketchy on this journey and I really want to firm up my plans from the get go. Madeu: |
