I intend to reach Nigerians with access to the Internet, the request is for ideas on how to effectively market a website with a limited budget.

I'm planning to build a website to service the whole Nigerian populace Initially, I've only got a budget of  N1million to fund this marketing campaign and would like constructive ideas of how to effectively utilize this funds for maximum Impact.

In this particular case, despite being sad about this truth, I tend to agree with Dr Jaja the writer of this article and I believe he has a right to express his views;

According to my mentor, any man or nation that does not take responsibility for his/her actions is irresponsible, until when each and every Nigerian takes responsibility for their actions and start behaving appropriately, change is not in sight.

One of the quotes I have come to believe strongly in states:

My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge which can be paraphrased as my people can be destroyed for lack of wisdom.

When a politician gives a group of people a couple of millions to rig elections for the purpose of getting into a position of power, and spends the next four years looting billions, what do you call this set of people;

When you see a politician who gets into power, has nothing to show the people who he is supposed to represent as an agent of change except for riding about in big cars and spending money lavishly – and this same people envy him and want to be like him, what do you call this people?

I think this poverty of the mind can be eradicated by enlightening people around you, if we can take time out to do the following then recovery is in sight;

1) Parents should teach there children the word Integrity & honesty
2) Take time our to enlighten the Ignorant ones within your sphere of influence
3) And finally lead by example

I remember sitting down with my mechanics and some of his mates a couple of years back and a gentleman passed by, they all jumped up and started shouting “Up Chair, Up Chair” and when I asked who was this guy, they said he was the one contesting to be their local government chairman, I then went on to ask what the guy’s manifesto (plans for the local government) was, they all did not have a clue and were only happy because this guy handed them a couple of Naira notes, I then went on to explain to this bunch of people that most politicians in our Nation give them peanuts and spent the next couple of years looting the cash that could have been used to

a) Build & Maintain the existing hospitals - so that they can access proper medical treatment
b) Build & Maintain schools - so that their children can be educated properly
c) Maintain the Roads
d) Street Lights on our roads to save the millions that lose there lives driving at night

and I’m sure the list can go on;

So Instead of complaining & analyzing etc, just take action by preaching this change within your sphere of Influence.

When you have a bunch of misfits running an enterprise, this is the result - a bunch of greedy people who want to be paid high fees for what a GSCE student can do.

Most countries encourage business startup because it's the life blood of the economy - the business employs people, pays taxes etc but not in our blessed Nigeria, they'll rather sink the business even before it starts.

If someone advertises his goods on this site I dont think it is right to post the kind of comments that is currently on this post unless you know something about this person that we all dont.

If a man wants to sell a Pentium 2 laptop for a 1 Million naira, good luck to him and for the buyer who pays that kind of amount, the question is where did he get the money?
