You got it wrong

In this handicap + is for home team while - is for away team

if you home team H1.5 , then your pick means he won't lose with more than a set margin which is equivalent to winning two sets

if you pick home team H2.5, then it means he won't lose with more than 2 sets margin which means he'd win at least a set


if you pick away H-1.5 then he must win two set at least while away H-2.5 means he must win at least a set.


These explanation is for ATP where the winner is anybody who wins three sets..



for WTA, you only have -1.5 and +1.5 handicap and it means win at least a set for away and home team or respectively

That is they either win or lose 3-2

your pick is the same as win at least 2 sets

if it's win a set you want then change it to handicap 2.5 for home team or -2.5 for away team.


I know someone would still argue that what I'm saying is wrong but the odds should hint you..

check odds for 1.5 and odds for 2.5 you'd notice 1.5 is bigger cos its presumed harder to win 2 sets than just a set.
