In cases like this one need to first of all identify the source(s) of the problem (water), stop it permanently after which you re-plaster the affected part if you don't want screening cause in this case, wallpaper will be useless.

Hmmm

gbadexy:
No problem sir, if you say so. We are all here to learn. Keep us updated on the applications.

You are welcome

gbadexy:
If you say sir. does the concrete screeding literally mean screeding with concrete mix or cement screeding with acrylic.
Even if the place is tiled, it would still reappear elsewhere unless the underlying issue is identified and sorted.

Yes concrete screrding is a combination of cement, acrylic and other chemicals which I wouldn't want to mention here. I assure you that after the application, the water won't reappear anywhere except where it was before.

gbadexy:
Alright sir, may God make it easy.
Screeding on a damp wall is even worse. It would perpetually be soggy with growth on it and paint would still peel off together with it.

Not all screeding. concrete screeding contain water sealants that can hold back the water. it has been tested and trusted.

HeedrizDepearl:
Btw, the guy that did my POP actually said screeding would curb the damp walls. Is this a myth?

Yes, concrete screeding but not just any other screeding. It contain water sealants.
Good day sir.

I've followed your inputs keenly and I finally have an issue that requires your expertise.

I have a few water soaked walls that have resulted in the walls "peeling". I hope that's the right description. The plaster is coming off and the walls are kinda shedding.

Now, is there a way to curb this soaking and shedding by painting? Or am I heading for wallpaper usage?

P.S: I unfortunately don't intend to screed.

Thanks in advance. [/quote
