At the RNC, a number of speakers touched on the attempt on Trump's life. Senator Tim Scott of South Carolina used religious allegory when he said, "Our God still saves, he still delivers, and he still sets free." Because the devil arrived in Pennsylvania on Saturday brandishing a weapon, but an American lion rose back to his feet and sent out a roar.

The economics was the declared theme of the convention for the evening. Governor of Virginia Glenn Youngkin expressed hope that a “rip-roaring economy that lifts up all Americans” would be reinstated under Trump.
