US President Donald Trump has warned that NATO faces a “very bad” future if US allies fail to assist in opening up the Strait of Hormuz, in an interview with the Financial Times published on Sunday.

Trump told the FT he could also delay his summit with China’s President Xi Jinping later this month as he presses Beijing to help unblock the crucial waterway.

“It’s only appropriate that people who are the beneficiaries of the Strait will help to make sure that nothing bad happens there,” Trump told the newspaper.

‘Tinubu For Second Term, We Don’t Want Peter Obi Or Atiku; We’ll Beg Him To Continue After Eight Years,’ Says Igboho

Yoruba Nation agitator Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho has publicly declared his support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s bid for a second term in office.

In a video seen by SaharaReporters, Igboho said: “President Tinubu for a second term. We don’t want any Peter Obi or Atiku Abubakar here.”

He further stated that even after Tinubu completes his eight years in office, he would be urged to continue as President of Nigeria.

"Even after Bola Tinubu completes his eight years in office, we will still beg him to continue," he boasted.

The secessionist leader also warned that no one should bring conversations about former Vice President Atiku or former Labour Party presidential candidate Obi to Southwest Nigeria, insisting that President Tinubu “owns” the region.

However, SaharaReporters previously reported that the Yoruba Union, also known as Ìgbìnmó Májékóbájé Ilé-Yorùbá, publicly distanced itself from Igboho over his alleged endorsement of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and campaign activities in support of President Tinubu.

The union declared that the struggle for the liberation of the Yoruba people could not be sacrificed for political interests.

It stressed that it would not be part of any move that trades the blood and suffering of hundreds of Yoruba people who have been killed or kidnapped for selfish political considerations.

In a recent statement signed by the group’s Convener, Olusola Badero, and released through its Home Director, Princess Balogun, the Yoruba Union said it had received numerous inquiries from Yoruba people both at home and in the diaspora seeking clarification on whether the organisation was aligned with Igboho’s alleged support for the ruling APC and the Tinubu administration.

“We unequivocally distance ourselves from Sunday Igboho’s selfish act of abandoning Yoruba Nation agitation to come out publicly to campaign for APC and its agent, whose policies have pushed millions of our people into poverty and economic hardship while insecurity has taken centre stage,” the group said.

The Yoruba Union said the agitation for the emancipation and sovereignty of the Yoruba people had always been built on sacrifice, commitment, and genuine dedication to the welfare of the people, stressing that many individuals had paid heavy prices for their involvement in the struggle.

Foreign AffairsIran Vows To Kill Netanyahu by God1000(op): 9:41am On Mar 15
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has vowed to kill Benjamin Netanyahu, Prime Minister of Israel.

In a post on Sepah News, its website, the guards said, “If this child-killing criminal is alive, we will continue to pursue and kill him with full force.”

The development comes amid rumour that Netanyahu had been killed.

The rumour went viral on social media at the weekend, but the Israel Defence Forces (IDF) denied it while Israeli authorities also put up different counter narratives.

Meanwhile, Iran has continued to fight back the killing of its Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Khamenei.

On February 28, 2026, Israel and the United States launched surprise airstrikes on multiple sites and cities across Iran, killing Khamenei and numerous other Iranian officials.

Iran responded with missile and drone strikes against Israel, US bases, and US-allied countries in the region, and the fight has been on since then.

Both sides have suffered casualties while the global economy has been plunged into crisis as oil prices continue to soar.

Meanwhile, the Israeli Health Ministry reports that in the past 24 hours, 108 injured people have been taken to hospitals as a result of the conflict with Iran.

“Among those treated in hospitals, two are in moderate condition, and 96 are in good condition. Nine people have been treated for anxiety,” it said in an update without giving a breakdown of the causes of injuries.

The ministry also said since the beginning of the war with Iran on February 28, 3,195 people have been admitted to hospitals, 81 of whom are currently hospitalized. This number includes both civilians and soldiers.

Among those hospitalized, one person is in critical condition, nine people are in serious condition, ten people are in moderate condition, and 60 are in good condition.

On the other hand, President Donald Trump, whose country is partnering with Israel in the war, told NBC news on Saturday that Iran is willing to make a deal with the US but he is not ready to do so “because the terms aren’t good enough yet”.

Trump refused to clarify the terms of a potential deal.

In a telephone interview with the US news outlet, the President also questioned whether Iran’s new supreme leader was sill alive and said it was unclear whether Iran has dropped mines into the Strait of Hormuz.

However, in Iran, 20 people have been arrested for “attempting to cooperate with Israel”.

Citing a statement by the West Azerbaijan province’s prosecutor office, Tasnim ‌news agency reported that those arrested were accused of ‌sending location details on Iran’s military and ‌security assets to Israel.

Israel has launched a new phase of its assault on Iran, targeting security checkpoints based on tip-offs from informants on the ground, according to a source briefed on Israel’s military strategy.

Foreign AffairsIsrael Warns US It Is Running Low On Missile Interceptors by God1000(op): 5:25am On Mar 15
Israel has warned the US that it is running critically low on ballistic missile interceptors as the conflict with Iran continues, according to a report by US news website Semafor that was published Saturday, citing unidentified US officials, Anadolu reports.

The report said Israel informed Washington earlier this week that its supply of long-range missile interceptors has been significantly depleted.

Israel is believed to have entered the war already low on interceptors following last summer’s confrontation with Iran, the report said.

Its long-range missile defense systems have been heavily strained by barrages, with CNN previously reporting that Iran had begun adding cluster munitions to some missiles, potentially increasing pressure on Israel’s defenses.

One US official told Semafor that Washington had been aware of Israel’s limited interceptor capacity for months and had anticipated the situation.

The official added that the US is not facing a similar shortage of missile interceptors.

Regional tensions have surged since the US and Israel launched a joint attack against Iran on Feb. 28. The strikes have so far killed at least 1,300 people in Iran, including then-Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.

Tehran has responded with drone and missile attacks targeting Israel, Jordan, Iraq and Gulf countries hosting US military assets, causing casualties and damage to infrastructure while disrupting global markets and aviation.

Donald Trump has urged several nations to send military vessels to protect oil tankers in the Strait of Hormuz (Picture: AFP)

Donald Trump has called on countries including the UK to send vessels to the Strait of Hormuz to protect the global oil trade.

The US president claimed oil tankers could still be targeted by Iranian forces despite insisting the US had destroyed ‘100% of Iran’s military capability’.

In a post shared on his Truth Social platform, Trump urged five countries, including China and France, to send military ships to the strait to help get oil supplies safely flowing through the critical chokepoint.

He wrote: ‘Many countries, especially those who are affected by Iran’s attempted closure of the Hormuz Strait, will be sending War Ships, in conjunction with the United States of America, to keep the Strait open and safe.

‘Hopefully China, France, Japan, South Korea, the UK, and others, that are affected by this artificial constraint, will send Ships to the area.’

Oil trade through the critical stretch, which spans just 35 miles at its widest point, has been crippled by Iranian strikes.

The strait normally handles a fifth of global crude oil and liquefied natural gas.

When asked, Trump promised on Friday that US navy ships would soon start escorting vessels through the targeted patch, conceding that Iran was still able to severely disrupt shipping in the strait despite its depleted military force.

‘We have already destroyed 100% of Iran’s Military capability, but it’s easy for them to send a drone or two, drop a mine, or deliver a close range missile somewhere along, or in, this Waterway, no matter how badly defeated they are’, the president said.

But he remained defiant that he would get the strait ‘open, safe and free’.

Britain is already sending HMS Dragon to protect RAF Akrotiri in Cyprus after the base was hit by a drone attack.

However the vessel would not reach the Mediterranean island until at least a week after it sets sail from Portsmouth.

It comes as Trump threatened to strike the island of Kharg if the blockade on the strait was not lifted soon.

The coral island is one of Iran’s most valuable assets and handles nearly all of its oil exports.

Petras Katinas, an energy researcher at the Royal United Services Institute, it would be difficult for Iran’s government to continue to function if it lost control of Kharg.

Foreign AffairsAll Six Crew Members Killed After US Refuelling Plane Crashes In Iraq by God1000(op): 6:18pm On Mar 13
All six members of a US military refuelling aircraft's crew have now been confirmed dead after it crashed in western Iraq, US Central Command (Centcom) has said.

The US initially said it had located four of the deceased crew. It said neither hostile nor friendly fire were involved in the loss of the KC-135 aircraft on Thursday.

The tanker had been involved in ongoing US operations against Iran and was one of two aircraft involved in the incident. The second landed safely.

The Boeing-manufactured aircraft are capable of refuelling planes midair and play a major role in US military operations. They were used extensively in the first Gulf War to extend the range of fighter jets and bombers.

Centcom said the incident occurred at about 14:00 ET (19:00 GMT) on Thursday and that the circumstances of the crash were now under investigation.

A search and rescue operation was then launched to locate the remaining two crew members.

The US military command unit added that the identities of the personnel who had been killed were being withheld for 24 hours so their next of kin could be notified.

Gen Dan Caine, chair of the US Joint Chiefs, told a news conference on Friday that the plane had crashed "while the crew was on a combat mission".

US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth hailed the aircraft's crew members as "American heroes", stressing that their "sacrifice will only recommit us to the resolve of this mission".

The KC-135 usually has a crew of at least a pilot, a co-pilot and a boom operator responsible for controlling the refuelling arm of the aircraft.

Centcom earlier described the crash as happening over friendly airspace - but this is a region of Iraq where pro-Iranian militias operate. Iran's military claimed on state TV that an allied group had targeted the plane with a missile.

Thursday's crash brings the official US military death toll in the US-Israel war with Iran, which began a fortnight ago, to 13.

The US military has now lost at least four aircraft during the current war.

Earlier this month, three F-15s were shot down in "an apparent friendly fire incident" over Kuwait, officials said. All six crew members were able to safely eject.

Boeing manufactured the KC-135 Stratotanker for the US military in the 1950s and early 1960s.

It has been a backbone to the US military's air refuelling fleet, and allow combat aircraft to carry out longer missions without needing to land.

Four of six U.S. crew members have been confirmed dead after their military refueling plane crashed in Iraq on Thursday while taking part in Iran war operations, the U.S. military has said.

Central Command said in a post on X early Friday that the KC-135 plane went down at approximately 2 p.m. ET in western Iraq, with four crew members confirmed dead. The statement didn't note the status of the other two crew members but said that "rescue efforts continue."

"The circumstances of the incident are under investigation. However, the loss of the aircraft was not due to hostile fire or friendly fire," CENTCOM said.

It said earlier that two aircraft were involved in the incident and that one landed safely.

As is standard protocol in military deaths, the identities of those killed are being withheld until 24 hours after their families have been informed.
