latifatai:
No need fighting over the true ownership of Nigerian Eagle Flour Mills, it's a subsidiary of Flour Mills of Nigeria Plc, bought over from the Chagoury Group. Look out for the Golden Penny Logo on the Eagle Sack. Same goes for Rom Oil. The FMN group is growing and consuming smaller companies that can not cope with the competition. There is therefore no political attachment to the true ownership.
Thank you my brother.

APC like taking glory where they did not sow. GEJ and FG (Olusegun Aganga in partucular) completely labour tirelessly to attract investment and suddenly APC governors show up attempting to take the glory.

The other day, Amosun had to jump up announcing about auto-makers siting plants in Ogun even when it was obvious he didn't know a thing about their coming

For the records, Flour Mills of Nig Plc moved into Ibadan way back Alao Akala's (of PDP) time. They set up the flour milling plant along Lagos -Ibadan expressway toll gate, commissioned it and put it to use while construction work on the edible oil was ongoing. Ajimobi was still in the senate then and does not know anything about their coming

As if anyone doubted this is about your inferiority complex and d1ck comparison insecurity. It is backward and ill-exposed Villagers like you, even as it is not a competition, who will compare Akpabio to Fashola. Only to you will your local champion Akpabio be compared to Fashola. When Akpabio makes the list of 100 most influential global thinker then let us know otherwise shut up and take your petty envy and inferiority complex elsewhere. I don't know why you guys can never mind your own business and just enjoy what you claim your leaders are delivering. The Akpabio you make noise about is the same fellow whose wife shuns first lady opulence and privilege in Akwa Ibom to be living as a nobody in Lagos. Hateful villagers like you, with minds totally destroyed by 'bad belle', will never see let alone understand why the entire world is taken with Fashola.

Objective Nairalanders, whatever ethnic group they are from, can see Governor Fashola doing Nigeria proud at number 20 below only to be bad-mouthed at home by ethnocentric, despicably prejudiced children of hate and indoctrination who will never give credit where due once it is a Yoruba person under discussion. Disgraceful and sad people. Better not pass this crap on to your children, as your community did to you, so they can at least go through life as normal as possible.

Akpabio is a civilised man - not one village champion with brainwashed "follow follow" followers.

A) Akpabio (unlike Fashola) does not make noise about any project less than 5b naira.

B) He doesn't go to commission Mikanno Generating set and deceive his dumbass followers he is building Power Plants.

C) He does not commission nor make noise about 2km roads

D) He does not commission nor make noise about street lights

Lagos Budgets N77.7 Billion as running cost for Gov Fashola’s office for 2014
The huge and staggering money is considered outrageous, as there are no breakdowns as to what the money would be expended on. The money was just simply named; ‘operational cost (executive). The N77.7 billion took the lion share of the total overhead cost.

Also, the government is earmarking N10.02 billion as subvention for tertiary institutions in the state.

Under the overhead cost of N146.7 billion, N1.84 billion has been budgeted for buying fuel for government vehicles, while maintenance of office buildings would gulp N477.8 million as local travel and transport expenses stood at N899.9 million.

The sum of N23.3 billion will be used in paying part of its outstanding debt for this year. The breakdown of this figure includes N922 million to be used in paying external debt loans and N22.423 billion to settle internal debt incurred by the government.

Payment of staff salaries and allowances for this year is N71.4 billion as the Lagos State Metropolitan Area Transport Authority, LAMATA will spend N3.76 billion as transport fund this year.

The Deputy Governor’s Office has a budget of N779.3 million to be used in running the affairs of the office, while the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital has a budget of N5 billion. Also, the state government will spend N567 million to purchase stationery for government Ministries, Departments and Agencies, MDAs, while utility allowance has been pegged at N902 million
PoliticsRe: Fashola Inspects Combined High & Magistrate Court, Epe. PICS.. by Goddex:
Fashola's 2014 budget for media (propaganda) is in excess of 30billion naira

Most state governors build and deliver minor projects like this without necessarily becoming loud about it. They don't even show up there for elaborate commissioning.

Fashola is the only governor that commissions a Mikano Generator, a 2km road, streetlights with so much fanfare and media noise

Have you been to Abuja? They are countless of more imposing buildings (FG ministeries, FG agencies and Depts) by the FCT minister and GEJ but nobody makes so much noise about them. The FCT minister nor GEJ does not go there, take pictures posing like an uncivilised man for the purpose of propaganda

Court Sentences Boko Haram Financier to 10 Years Imprisonment

By Davidson Iriekpen

Justice Saliu Saidu of the Federal High Court in Lagos on Wednesday sentenced a financier of the dreaded Islamic sect, Boko Haram, to 10 years’ imprisonment with hard labour.

The Boko Haram financier was among four suspects secretly tried before the judge by the Department of State Security (DSS).

The suspects included Adamu Mohammed, Mohammed Mustapha, Bura Husseni and Mohammed Ibrahim.

Efforts by journalists to get details of the allegations against the suspects and other details about the conviction were unsuccessful as no one was willing to divulge the information.

It was however gathered that one of the suspects was convicted and sentenced to 10 years jail for sponsoring Boko Haram, while the other three were released by the judge.

The suspects were said to have been prosecuted by Mr. P Okerinmodu on behalf of the government.

When the suspects were brought in to the courtroom under heavy security, all other people in court were ordered out except the lawyers, court registrars and the judge.

Justice Ibrahim Buba, also of the Federal High Court in Lagos, had sentenced three members of the sect to 25 years each, after finding them guilty of belonging to the outlawed fundamentalist group, Boko Haram.

The suspects were arrested in Lagos with explosives and other dangerous items.

They were said to have been arrested while planning to attack Lagos, the economic capital of Nigeria.

The sect members, the first set to be arrested and convicted in Lagos, were rounded up on March 21 while planning to launch an attack.

In the charge against them, the prosecution alleged that the accused persons committed the offences at Plot 5, Road 69, Lekki Phase I Housing Estate, and No. 24, Oyegbeni St., Ijora-Oloye, Apapa-Iganmu, Lagos.

Their trial was conducted in camera pursuant to application by the prosecuting authority, the Lagos State Government, that there was need to protect the witnesses in the case.

Justice Ibrahim Buba gave his judgment in secret and pronounced the three convicts guilty of the terrorism charges.

The 17 suspects initially charged were arraigned before Justice Buba on 18 counts of conspiracy to commit terrorism, illegal possession of firearms, and being members of a proscribed organisation.

They included Ali Mohammed, Adamu Karumi, Ibrahim Usman, Bala Haruna, Idris Ali, Mohammed Murtala and Kadiri Mohammed.

Others were Mustapha Daura, Abba Duguri, Sanni Adamu, Danjuma Yahaya and Musa Audu and Mati Daura, Farouk Haruna, Abdullahi Azeez, Ibrahim Bukar and Zula Diani.

But the case was discontinued against all the accused except the first four.

Out of the four, Haruna was discharged also by Justice Buba on the ground that the government failed to prove the allegation of terrorism funding against him.

Haruna was alleged to have agreed to provide funds to facilitate the escape of the first convict, Ali Mohammed, from detention.

However, Justice Buba sentenced the first three accused persons – Ali Mohammed, Adamu Karumi and Ibrahim Usman – to 25 years imprisonment each for participating in acts of terrorism.

They were alleged to have been caught in possession of three packets of explosive construction pipes, 15 detonators, and 11 AK47 rifles with 30 rounds of live ammunition.

The other items allegedly found in their possession included 200 rounds of 7.6 millimetres live ammunition, two suitcases containing explosives, and a water container filled with explosives.

According to the prosecution, the offences contravened provisions of Sections 13(2) and 17(b) of the Terrorism Act 2013.

It also contravenes Sections 1, 8, 27 (1) (a) and (b) of the Firearms (special provisions) Act, Cap F28, Laws of the Federation, 2004, and punishable under Section 8 of the same act.
