chisomkachy: As NDLEA busts drug trafficking syndicate at Lagos airport, arrests 4, seizes 15.6kg Meth, Loud; intercepts cocaine consignment in paint buckets going to UK; nabs physically challenged dealer in Edo
This one misinterpretation has made multitudes of Christians to glorify poverty.
damosky12: That portion of scripture you quoted doesn't prove that God has a persona vendetta with wealthy people. Through scriptures, God had wealthy men.
Abraham, His friend, was wealthy. Jacob was wealthy. Joseph was wealthy. David was wealthy. Solomon was wealthy. Job was wealthy. Many many of God's people in the Old Testament were wealthy.
In the new testament, Joseph of Arimathea was wealthy. Erastus was wealthy. Barnabas was wealthy. Many in the early church were rich!
Abusing a Bible verse to push a silly narrative would not suffice.
You can't build a doctrine on just one single passage, more so one single phrase which is misunderstood...
Mark 10:17-25 [17]And when he was gone forth into the way, there came one running, and kneeled to him, and asked him, Good Master, what shall I do that I may inherit eternal life? [18]And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God. [19]Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Defraud not, Honour thy father and mother. [20]And he answered and said unto him, Master, all these have I observed from my youth. [21]Then Jesus beholding him loved him, and said unto him, One thing thou lackest: go thy way, sell whatsoever thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, take up the cross, and follow me. [22]And he was sad at that saying, and went away grieved: for he had great possessions. [23]And Jesus looked round about, and saith unto his disciples, How hardly shall they that have riches enter into the kingdom of God! [24] And the disciples were astonished at his words. But Jesus answereth again, and saith unto them, Children, how hard is it for them that TRUST IN RICHES to enter into the kingdom of God! [25]It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.
Apparently, the clarification here is what Mark supplies us. Jesus wasn't talking about the average rich man anywhere, but a rich man that trusts in His riches instead of trusting in God.
And that is a no-brainer. To trust in riches is to not trust in God. The Epistles also echo the same thought to rich Christians.
1 Timothy 6:17-18 [17]Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy; [18]That they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate;
God is not against wealth. Wealth is a useful tool for His work on earth OBVIOUSLY. What is against God is to allow money to take God's place. That's what Jesus and His Apostles addressed.
You’re upgrading your relationship with them. Endure the discomfort, it will soon ease.
Discomfort with change is a normal human behavior.
papikushz: Growing up as the last my siblings always don't wanna hang with me, the would rather be with their friends and tell me to get lost. I am grown now they wanna talk with me but I don't even know how to act around them or even know what to talk about while with them. It's like we are trying to force it but nothing most times I spend and express myself amongst outsiders than to then. I learned to do things on my own, I only seek help when it's so bad, I don't even know how to ask them for help when I need, I just keep going till am stuck (being too judgy is part of why I just keep to myself and bear my cross and while at it I blame no one but sometimes it gets so heavy. I just want to unwind here. At some point I felt so isolated
Stupidity (through ignorance or carelessness) kills.
Exousiang01: Journalism cant get worse And this is supposed to be a national daily newspaper not a blogger....
Daily post is telling us that the community woke up to decomposing bodies.
Yet one was still found unconscious and rushed to the hospital. Daily post is telling us that dammnnnnn....
The person blaming the government wants to tell us that those boys are the only users of generators in Nigeria?
University students do no know that they are not supoosed to keep a generator set in the same room?
Tomorrow they will say they have graduated with honour, the school would say they found them worthy in character and in "learning".
I dont care you caused your own death you should be blamed for it. It is stupid to say "dont blame the dead" when the dead should be blamed.
When the young man JP died i was insulted for blaming him. The young mand rejected the life jacket because it was dirty, is the grave he is in now neater than the lige jacket?
He knew he couldnt swim but he had on phone on his ear and was making vidoes for content with the other hand. Una say make we no blame am......
This young folks killed them selves.
More people have died from stupidity than malaria, HIV, accidents and COVID19 put together
Most of them were undergraduates who went from hostels or lecture halls to the studio. So disheartening.
The government has failed the citizens. DISCOs have also failed the citizens. But let us do away with sentiments. No be the government say make dem no position the generator well. How are you even sure it was generator fume that killed them? What if food poison or substance abuse was the cause?
Imagine this level of contradiction. Decomposing bodies? How come one was still alive while 6 were already decomposing?
What about those who carelessly get themselves electrocuted when the government provides electricity? Know when to blame the government and when to blame individuals. I know about two men that died through illegal connection of wires to electric poles. One of them was a welder, it happened in his workshop.
I feel a great opportunity was wasted by Mr president. You guys caused this because you didn’t consider the 2nd order effects from the policy.
The reasons you’re listing now are issues citizens raised in protest of your policies. All you had to do was have a plan to address these in proper sequence.
See your life outside.
In essence, you did not think for results. A stitch in time saves 9.
Past interactions with the law and the people’s subservience.
That’s where the confidence comes from.
FatherCHRISTMAS: I have always wondered what gives the Expatriate confidence to maltreat people in their host country. They don't act like this in other countries.
I saw one arguing with a mobile police officer a month ago. What gives them this sort of confidence
Testiebobo: In this post, i will list some reasons why people die young. You know youthful stage starts from age 20 and stops at age 49. Incase if you dont know, now you know
1) Addictions: such as smoking cigarettes marijuana colorado xanax etc
2) Alcoholism: You might be suprised why i didnt mention ALCOHOLISM with the group of addictions up there. Because alcohol is a major addiction on it own.
3) Violence: So many people have lost their lives to violence including the old. But majority are youths.
4) Thuggery: Thuggery is common mostly in young people. Is more of a gang association, and involves the use of dangerous weapons.
5) Cultism: Cultism and thuggery are very different. Because thuggery is more open but cultism is more of secret association. They are both lethal.
6)Unprotected sex: One of the easiest way to die young. Because unprotected sex exposes people to concreate diseases like HIV/AIDS, STD, Gonorrhea etc.
7) Depression
All kinds of accidents
Welcome back from yesterday's sabbath rest! Happy new day.
Memo To the Nigerian government. This is how we do it now.
NairaOcean: Shade Okoya, the wife of Nigerian billionaire Rasaq Okoya, pleasantly surprised a young boy with a kind gesture. It happened during a public event where Shade Okoya was vibing to a Yoruba song.
While the boy stood nearby, seemingly unaware of the unfolding scene in his smart attire, Shade Okoya reached into her purse and withdrew a bundle of N1000 notes. She approached the boy and presented him with the bundle of naira notes.
Caught off guard, the boy's initial astonishment quickly transformed into a broad grin as he graciously accepted the unforeseen gift.
Kobojunkie: You have never had the chance to process the contents of the book you carry around with you by yourself, have you? Sadly, you are among the majority out there.
That is what I know it to be. Think of the others as clones.
Kobojunkie: Jesus Christ never made the statement that you make there. How does adding Words into the mouth of Jesus Christ make your case?
2. There is no truth to these claims since the Father never said He sent anyone after Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ made clear that the Father gave everything over to Him. Why would He need to send anyone after Jesus Christ if not that He did not give everything over to Jesus Christ? So where do you keep getting these false ideas from?
Please don't crucify me yet, just advise me please. Had to utilize a new moniker for this.
I got married last year June and by February 2024, I was transferred to another state for work. I was bored in the city and probably made a mistake. The girl stays in same hotel, and works for a bank, also on a course. So we started talking and one thing led to another. This girl had her phone on audio record the two times we got down and recorded all the audio of the shit we did.
My wife came visiting and of course I defined boundaries the moment wifey was around. A few days back I got high and dozed off, my wife got into my phone saw our chats. Her last chat to me, was regarding the audio. My wife followed through the convo and she sent two 24 minute audios.
Before I could wake, Wifey was already gone from the hotel. And when I checked my phone I saw a long epistle and screen shots of what happened. Now she has called my entire family, friends everybody I know. I am so ashamed of myself.
Is there anything I can do to have her back. Can she ever forgive me.
The Father sent the son last, yes, but the Father has many unique versions of the son. Hence Jesus saying he was the first amongst many, like a corn seed you plant that yields 300seeds.
The father sends them all. And he keeps sending them to this day.
Doesn’t mean the son has to be a pastor. It could be you, in your area of influence.
Kobojunkie: This is impossible because Jesus Christ made clear that He was the last one sent by His Father, and all others after Him were false.
According to Jesus Christ, the Father sent His prophets and the tenants beat them and did all sorts of things to them. Then lastly, the Father is said to have sent His own Son, and we know the tenants killed him off. So why would the Father send more prophets after that? Is the Father some soft of a fool?
