• Suicide seems more logical in a trouble-laden world, especially when you don't believe in life after death, hell, a God who doesn't want you to take your life or existence of spiritual worlds--- yet atheists fight for their lives.

•However, in clinical depression (which puts people in irrational, emotional state), a study published in American Journal of Psychiatry says religiously unaffiliated people are more likely to commit suicide.
There is no need to prove that people who have suicidal ideation (thoughts) may have "logical reasons" which becomes irrational to them with the benefit of hindsight (that is, looking back later in life at why they thought about suicide)

Remove access to stumbling on pornography from around you. Avoid environments, movies, magazines and programs that stir up the old desires. This is not your full-proof protection but it is an effort on your part. Instead- and this is the real deal- spend time meditating on the word of God and worshipping God.

Specifically ask God to cleanse you and remove the alterations in the functioning of your mind occasioned by your past sinful or sin-supporting experiences. Believe His word that He indeed answer prayers and this will restore you quickly. If seeing beautiful ladies or handsome guys makes you focus on their erotic body parts or makes you imagine what having sex with them would be before, when God does the cleansing (or sanctification) you will see a human being and not an object of sex. You can't describe what peace of mind is until that happens to you. Ask God with faith and He WILL do it.

When and how are issues to pray about, seeking God's merciful direction. And in doing that, you must do away with fear. God has said, " Never will I leave you, never will I forsake you." God's word continues that you can therefore BOLDLY say, " The Lord is my helper, I will not fear. What can humans do to me?" (Hebrew 13:5,6) "Humans" including your spouse, including the press.

Many are scared the press can destroy their ministry.This is fear of man and it is a trap. If God gave you the ministry, no press can destroy it-- provided you submit yourself to him and not yield to the temptation to protect your reputation by lying. Humility and honesty and reverence for God can turn the fiercest of media battles to your greatest success story ever.

YOUR FEELING IS NOT YOU

This is one truth that made the difference in the way I handled temptations together with the understanding of the above.

I have found myself in situations where my feelings were screaming, "Do it!" "Opportunity!" "Say 'Yes'!"
But the understanding that my feeling is not me gave me the strength to make the right decision to walk away from temptation.

I remember one occasion- not one of the major sexual temptations I've had but good for illustration all the same- I had a female friend who is also a committed Christian.
I just left her place and she was seeing me off. I just finished telling her that I am clear about not marrying her (I usually say that once I was beginning to get close to a lady and I have confirmed the direction of our relationship from God).

We got to a lonely place and I greeted her good bye. Actually, I gave her a peck on her cheek and began to go. It then occurred to me, "Hope she won't count that as a kiss?"(Some people do.) So I turned and said something like, "I hope you didn't count that a kiss?"
She said, "No."

Then came an unexpected question in this lonely place. She asked me, "Would you like to kiss me?"

I have never kissed any lady before and this was a lady, a beautiful lady, a friend asking if I would like to kiss her. I know she just gave a voice to her feelings. My feelings would love to kiss her because it looked like a perfect moment but it wouldn't be an ordinary kiss if I tried it.

I- the real me, my spirit - had to decide I am not going to do so. So I gave my spirit a voice against what my body really wanted and said, " No."

She later decided not to see a man off through that path because of the incidence of that day. She asked for a kiss because we just had an emotional discussion before getting to the lonely path and I worsened the situation by an innocent peck. I wasn't sensitive to who I was dealing with- a lady.

Thank God anyway. I said no and have no regrets.

What I'm saying is that your emotions can say Yes! Yes!! Yes!!! If you know things can go wrong or the decision itself is wrong you- the real you- can say a big "No!!!" and that will be it.

2. Identity Crisis & Self-imposed Defeat


If you are born again stop lying to yourself. Stop calling yourself or seeing yourself as a sinner when God has made you righteous in Christ. See yourself the way God sees you. Accept your reality as a new person with God's nature.
It is because you still believe you are among those who can still taste sin, repent afterwards and fall back again that you keep going back to it. Once you know that the person who does that died with Christ and a new you has been raised up with him, your freedom is automatic.
"our old self was [it happened already] crucified with Christ so that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves to sin-- because anyone who has died has been freed from sin... count yourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus." (Romans 6:6, 11)
In other words, your mindset has to change just has you have been changed (Romans 12:2) The real you, your spirit, is no more a sinner but your mind must accept this reality so that your body can be put under control.

3. Self-Esteem crisis

Examine yourself, allow God to expose the dark recesses of your mind.
Many Pastors and leaders with low self-esteem, who have experienced failure or whose wives have not been submissive to them feel threatened about losing the grip on their importance. They see sex as "conquest" and use control of people under their leadership to prove to themselves that they still worth something.
Your worth does not come from what you achieve or possession or how much power you wield or how humans treat you(your spouse inclusive).

Your worth comes from who God says you are and the price that was paid on you. It cost God His life in Christ to pay for your life. God says He loves you, does it matter who else does or doesn't?

Don't fall for that temptation of trying to prove or feel you are still the man/woman of God because someone is disrespecting you or your spouse is not treating you right.
Satan asked Jesus to perform miracles to prove he was the Son of God. Jesus said what matters to Him is what His Father in Heaven tells Him and worshipping God.

Walk out on the devil the next time he tells you to prove you can still make someone submit to having sex with you. Tell him your value is determined already by the blood shed on the cross for you.
You don't need to prove you are who you are because you already are even if you don't feel like you are.

FACTORS LEADING TO SEXUAL IMMORALITY INVOLVING CHRISTIAN LEADERS

Aside ignorance of this truth about sexual sin which we've tried to deal with above, there are some unresolved or hidden issues you need to face squarely if you've been having sex (or fear you may) with one of the people under your leadership or care as a Christian in church, at work, at home (e.g. incest, with house help or with a neighbor) or when away from people who know you.


1. The Preachers' Shocker

There are people who are zealous about God but have never consciously and deliberately come to Christ to be saved from their sins. They think they should be Christians because they were born into "Christian homes". They became " leaders " among God's people without being one because of their zeal and "good" way of life. HEY, GOD DOESN'T HAVE GRANDCHILDREN! He only has children- His own children born by His word and by His Spirit (John 3:3-7, 1Peter 1:23)
Paul writes to God's children in Ephesus: "it is by grace you have been saved, through faith... not by works, so no one can boast." (Eph. 2:8-9 NIV).
Jesus said to a religious leader, "Except a man is born again, he CANNOT see the Kingdom of God." You can't give birth to yourself. You natural parents gave birth to you the first time and you took their fallen nature. God's Spirit gives birth to the new you when you consciously believe that Jesus fully paid the price for you to become a member of God's family and you put your trust in him and call on him to do just that.
"Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved."(Romans 10:11-13)

In this context, "Christian Leaders" stands for leaders who are profess Christianity as their religion in and out of religious settings. They may be House Fellowship leaders, Pastors, Bishop, Prophetess or CEO, Manager, husband or the more "successful" or financially buoyant spouse, Parent, School teacher etc

IS HAVING SEX WITH SOMEONE YOU ARE NOT MARRIED TO WRONG?

Without leaving room for assumptions, let's forget societal expectations for a while and check the word of God. You don't have to be politically correct but first as a child of God- if you are- and then as a leader among Christians your goal must be to please God in all things (2 Corinthians 5:9). So what does God's word have to say about having sex with someone you are not married to. (NOTE: About-to-wed is not equal to Just-wed.)

In Matthew 5:27-28 Jesus said,
"You have heard that it was said, 'You shall not commit adultery;' but I tell you that everyone who gazes at a woman to lust after her has committed adultery with her already in his heart." (World English Bible)

1st Thessalonians 4:3-5 reads:

"It is God's will that you keep away from sexual sin as a mark of your devotion to him. Each of you should know that finding a husband or wife for yourself is to be done in a holy and honorable way, not in the passionate, lustful way of people who don't know God." (God's Word Translation)

Also in 1st Corinthians 6:18-20 the Bible reads:

"Stay away from sexual sins. Other sins that people commit don't affect their bodies the same way sexual sins do. People who sin sexually sin against their own bodies. Don't you know that your body is a temple that belongs to the Holy Spirit? The Holy Spirit, whom you received from God, lives in you. You don't belong to yourselves. You were bought for a price. So bring glory to God in the way you use your body." (God's Word Translation)

Lastly here, let's read Ephesians 5:3-6:

3Don't let sexual sin, perversion of any kind, or greed even be mentioned among you. This is not appropriate behavior for God's holy people. 4It's not right that dirty stories, foolish talk, or obscene jokes should be mentioned among you either. Instead, give thanks [to God]. 5You know very well that no person who is involved in sexual sin, perversion, or greed (which means worshiping wealth) can have any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.
6Don't let anyone deceive you with meaningless words. It is because of sins like these that God's anger comes to those who refuse to obey him. 7Don't be partners with them. (God's Word Translation)

The most commonly used word in New Testament part of the Bible including passages above for sexual sin is "Porneia" often translated as "fornication" or, in more modern translations, as "sexual immortality" or "Sexual sin." It encompasses every act intended for sexual pleasure or sexual satisfaction but not between a male and female married to each other. So whether incest, masturbation, adultery, prostitution, homosexuality, bestiality, sex involving inanimate objects, pornography - porneia is a broad term for sex not between heterosexual married couples.

As a Christian, you should "Run from" Porneia (1Cor. 6:18 NLT). IF ANY VOICE OR VISION OR SPIRIT TELLS YOU TO ENGAGE IN ANY SEXUAL ACT/ ACT MEANT TO BRING SEXUAL PLEASURE OUTSIDE THE CONTEXT OF YOU AND YOUR HUSBAND OR WIFE, IT IS CLEARLY NOT FROM GOD AND IT IS CONTRARY TO GOD

You mentioned the other time that you don't need Jesus to die for you but just to ask for forgiveness from God.
Doesn't that mean that when Mohammed said his past, present and future sins were forgiven and that that is one of the things that made him superior to others, doesn't that mean this forgiveness is irrelevant to start with? Since anyone can ask for forgiveness and that will be all?

You can only have forgiveness of sin(singular) in Jesus Christ. You are not a sinner because you sin, you sin as a sinner.
On the contrary anyone who believes in Jesus Christ's death and resurrection for his or her sins and justification is no more a sinner, he or she has become righteous before God in Christ. He/She is righteous not because he/she may not sin but because Jesus was made his/her sin on the cross when he died (2 Corinthians 5:21). That is what Satan does not want you and Mohammed to understand. Until you cross from being a sinner to being righteous by faith in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, you may ask God forgiveness of sins (plural) like any Christian may do but your sin (singular) of rejecting God's own provision for your eternal rescue from Satan's kingdom still remains. So if I ask for forgiveness and you do the same, the purpose and end result is different. I remain righteous (not by my works but because of Jesus) but you remain in you sin(singular) after the sins(plural) are forgiven.

God made us, He knows what we needed, He provided it by sending Jesus to die and by raising him from the dead. The spirit that appeared to Mohammed doesn't want you to believe it, he gave Mohammed a message that will sound religiously okay but denying the power of salvation provided by God through the cross of Jesus. That's the case and I pray that, if indeed you are honest about being guided on the right path, God will open your eyes like He opened mine.

He was talking to people who believe in all the prophets that came before he became human. You can't use what the Qur'an says to interpret the Bible. I discovered where the arguments and untrue comments my Muslim acquaintances make about us came from- the Qur'an. And because you believe the Qur'an is God's word (and, of course, God is perfect in knowledge) you automatically believe what you read in the Qur'an is true. No! Whoever speaks in the Qur'an is not correct about us-- and that person did that intentionally. WE WORSHIP THE CREATOR ONLY, NOT A MAN.YOU JUST DON'T KNOW HIM YET BECAUSE YOU BELIEVE IN THE QUR'AN.

Please take up my challenge to study the Bible on its own merit. But note that it is also not how the Qur'an talks about the Bible as if it is like the Qur'an. It is a library of books spanning several centuries apart. If you read it like the Qur'an talks about it, you will be confused because the Qur'an is not right about the picture it paints about the Bible too. Now that was just a statement of fact not judging or abusing.

When Jesus told his disciples that he MUST die and be raised from the dead and one of them took him aside to tell him "this will not happen to you," Jesus recognized that that was the voice of Satan speaking through the natural instinct of the disciple and he replied, "Get behind me, Satan! You do not have in mind the things of God, but the things of men," what do you think he will say now when, after his death and resurrection, someone shows up to say an angel of God brought a revelation that he was not killed, that it only appeared so?

The Bible warns us that even Satan disguises as an angel of light. Please take note.

No one needs to die for my sins because my God is the most glorious, the all-forgiving. All I need to do is repent to my creator and avoid that sin. In islam everyone would be held accountable for their own deeds.

Because Satan is our common enemy and since I've made up my mind and pray Allah takes my soul as a muslim, and you've made up your mind aswell, I'll enjoin you not to insult other people's believe.
And point of correction: I Have Jesus in Islam! But I worship his creator alone!
So don't be too quick to judge believing that your way is the true way.
In whatever we do fear God who created us all because I know you are not perfect and you have shortcomings aswell.

If you know how intelligent Satan is as well as believe in Jesus when He said, "I am THE WAY, the truth and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me," you will understand why Islam appears so godly and calls Jesus THE Messiah yet it denies the reason Jesus is called the Messiah (Al-Masih) (for example S. 4:157)

When Jesus told his disciples that he MUST die and be raised from the dead and one of them took him aside to tell him "this will not happen to you," Jesus recognized that that was the voice of Satan speaking through the natural instinct of the disciple and he replied, "Get behind me, Satan! You do not have in mind the things of God, but the things of men," what do you think he will say now when, after his death and resurrection, someone shows up to say an angel of God brought a revelation that he was not killed, that it only appeared so?

The Bible warns us that even Satan disguises as an angel of light. Please take note.

I for one know these our muslim brothers will serve the true God in the fullness of time. They do not know what they are doing. And that's why we have to stop criticism for them.

Many of them are not reading the Qur'an and many others don't read in the language they understand.. they would have been saved. Imagine, for example, that passage quoted above (Surah 4:157) called Jesus THE Messiah.
We can't afford to keep silent for the sake of those who will never know the truth except from social media, those who will believe if told the truth. God forbid that I criticize Muslims... even Mohammed was a victim of deception.

Thank God many are turning to Jesus THE Messiah. I heard of another conversion about 2weeks ago--formerly a devout Muslim. She got born again after marrying a Muslim guy.

Well, one thing Satan tried to achieve through Islam is trying to make the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ seem unnecessary (of course you should know that the Qur'an even said Jesus did not die), dragging the whole world back to what God did not intend to continue and making it look like God is the still the one doing it.
If you understand why Jesus HAD to die and resurrect you can understand why some sins carried death penalty... UNTIL JESUS CAME.

Until you understand that, all you need to know in the Bible is that YOU need JESUS.

This verse has been misquoted out of context. Here is the full passage:

4:88-91 Why should ye be divided into two parties about the Hypocrites? Allah hath upset them for their (evil) deeds. Would ye guide those whom Allah hath thrown out of the Way? For those whom Allah hath thrown out of the Way, never shalt thou find the Way. They but wish that ye should reject Faith, as they do, and thus be on the same footing (as they): so take not friends from their ranks until they forsake the domain of evil in the way of God (from what is forbidden). But if they revert to [open] enmity, seize them and slay them wherever ye find them; and (in any case) take no friends or helpers from their ranks. Except those who join a group between whom and you there is a treaty (Of peace), or those who approach you with hearts restraining them from fighting you as well as fighting their own people. If God had pleased, He could have given them power over you, and they would have fought you: therefore if they withdraw from you but fight you not, and (instead) send you (guarantees of) peace, then God hath opened no way for you (to war against them). Others you will find that wish to gain your confidence as well as that of their people: every time they are sent back to temptation, they succumb thereto; if they withdraw not from you nor give you (guarantees) of peace besides restraining their hands, seize them and slay them wherever ye get them; in their case We have provided you with a clear argument against them
So in the same manner as the first verse, this verse also only commands Muslims to fight those who practice oppression or persecution, or attack the Muslims. And in the event of a battle, the same laws of war are in place and a Muslim who transgresses limits should prepare for the punishment of God. In response to a question on verses 4:88-89, Dr. Muzammil H. Siddiqi quotes the verses in their full context and then asks the following:

Now tell me honestly, do these verses give a free permission to kill any one anywhere? These verses were revealed by God to Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), at the time when Muslims were attacked by the non-Muslims of Makkah on a regular basis. They were frightening the Muslim community of Madinah. One may say using the contemporary jargon that there were constant terrorist attacks on Madinah and in this situation Muslims were given permission to fight back the “terrorist”. These verses are not a permission for “terrorism” but they are a warning against the “terrorists.” But even in these warnings you can see how much restraint and care is emphasized. It is also important to note that the Qur'an clearly condemns murder. The Qur’an says about the prohibition of murder,

6:151 Take not life, which God hath made sacred, except by way of justice and law: thus does He command you, that ye may learn wisdom. 17:33 Nor take life, which God has made sacred, except for just cause. And if anyone is slain wrongfully, We have given his heir authority (to demand Qisas(retribution) or to forgive): but let him not exceed bounds in the matter of taking life; for he is helped (by the law) 5:32...if any one slew a person - unless it be for murder or for spreading mischief in the land - it would be as if he slew the whole people: and if any one saved a life, it would be as if he saved the life of the whole people
So the Qur'an makes it very clear that Muslims cannot initiate an attack against others, unless there is an immediate threat of being attacked. The context of the quoted verses applies only to situations where the oppressors are killing Muslims. In this case, they have a right to defend themselves and others, especially the weak and oppressed.

Your view. What about killing people who convert from Islam as practised in Saudi Arabia?

I was reading a commentary on Jihad in the Qur'an written by an Imam in Saudi Arabia. He said in effect,

"Jihad was first prohibited, it was later permitted and finally it became compulsory."

Secondly, you people like to talk about the crusaders. Show me a passage where Jesus commanded Christians to kill people in the name of religion. He even rebuked those who requested permission to call fire down from heaven to destroy those who refused to allow Jesus into there locality. We are asked to pray for all of you who hate us and that is what Christians do. They won't help Satan to send you to hell fire. Anyone who does is simply not a Christian.

Many Muslims feel embarrassed by what Islamic terrorists are doing. The reason is simply that these Muslims either don't know that the "terrorists" got their inspiration from the Qur'an or they (the embarrassed Muslims) are just living in denial.

The Qur'an says it is an eternal book meant for all times and ages. Yet we have people who try to say the war against infidels (Jihad) commanded in it and carried out by terrorists are only relevant for those days.

An Imam in Saudi Arabia once said in effect "Jihad was first forbidden, then it was permitted and later it became compulsory."

Muslims who don't like what the terrorists are doing (and rightly so by normal principle of love) like to quote the part of the Qur'an that forbids Jihad e.g."Let there be no compulsion in religion..."

But where do they think killing people who convert from Islam to other religion practiced in Saudi Arabia came from? Is that not compulsion? It was definitely handed down by the prophet of Islam.

Jesus Christ said to the disciples, " ... the time is coming when those who kill you will think they are doing a holy service for God. This is because they have never known the Father or me."
This passage says a lot about the prophet of Islam and the religion he was deceived to start.

Jesus is coming for a glorious church without spot or wrinkle. God is raising people who will truly represent His Kingdom on earth in character, power and glory.

You don't have to live in fear, defeat and shame. You can rise and enjoy the victory Jesus Christ prepared for you when He died on the cross.

Whether you join us or not please know that God really loves you. Don't let what people do or don't do separate you from the love of God. He can direct you and help you no matter the challenge.

- Some are worried about doctrines that are strange to the New Testament held on to by many churches. They feel like it is better to leave the church and be on their own but that won't be Christianity because we are not to forsake the gathering of God's people. So they just struggle to go to church.

- Some just don't feel loved in their church or they need a place where they can be known

- Some feel awkward in church because the pastor is almost being worshipped and, unlike Jesus, members can't at least air their opinion even if it will not be taken. People see the pastor as infallible. He is always right!

- Some believe they need miracles but they are taught miracles don't happen anymore.

- Some long for deeper experience with the Spirit of God but their lives are left shallow.

There are people who don't really want to stop going to church but church has become more of a burden to them.

- Some feel harassed by church leaders who tell them to repent of sins without showing them exactly how to live the Christian life. They love God but are constantly defeated by temptations. Or they don't just have people they can trust enough to open up to about the sins in their lives.

- Worst still, for some, it is those who they look up to as "spiritual" leaders that are "leading" them into sexual sins and all sorts of hypocrisy. They know they need help but who will they talk to?

- Some are just tired of the emphasis on money. They are made to pledge for all kind of projects except taking care of church members. They love God but they feel the church is busy building buildings rather than help members to develop... (continued below)
