Alright, can you please put me through so i can go birth there too if you dont mind? Thank you

POE
I flew in through US (spent a week there), so I was only asked how long I was staying - wore winter jacket so I don't know if they saw my tommy.

Accommodation/transportation/feeding
I stayed with family so I have no idea about rent.

Dr's fee
$2500 - includes test, antenatal, delivery

Hospital (Lakeridge Health, Oshawa)
2500 - mother
700 - baby

Well Baby
$157 (2days after birth)
Didn't need hearing test as my baby was already reacting to sounds smiley

Birth certificate
Applied same day baby came and received it via mail after 5 working days.

Passport/travel certificate
Applied for expedited at Whitby and picked up 4 working days later.
Posted request for travel certificate same day I submitted passport and got it in the mail in 2 working days.

What @Hotstepper is saying is basically you being due in May which is 2.5 months away its virtually impossible to apply and receive visa in time to make the trip especially if you are applying from Nigeria. If you are applying from another country that has a shorter processing time then you can be lucky and get it in time. But mind you to apply in any country other than your country of national you would require a resident permit for that country in which you wish to apply.
Same amount of time I had before I reapplied for mine and I just got back to Naija. Mission accomplished.

Online application - biometrics requested 3 days later - passport requested for a week later - stamped passport returned 11 days later.

My dear, I'll advice you reapply. There is no harm. If the baby decides to come before you're granted, at least you tried.

I am highly interested. Thank you in advance.
Sorry, I've been busy with so many things. Back in Naija now so I have some free time.
The family doctor(s) prefer you just walk in as against posting their numbers here.

Address is at 222 King Street E, Bowmanville. There is also an Obgyn in that building that uses Lakeridge hospital.

Omodadi2:
I really don't get your point seriously. You mean I must to say here my next plans immediately?and not saying means I'm hiding something? You avoid asking me what particular question?
I don't think Omobendel meant any harm by her post. Looking back at her previous comments, it's only obvious she's trying to help.
Repeated denials is not what anyone wants to go through at least not when you can't pin point the actual cause but that is not enough to make people who are trying to help feel bad.
While no one expects you to come spill what your next plans are, I see nothing wrong in her question especially with you giving an impression you're considering U.K. which doesn't offer dual citizenship and not even acknowledging people's advice to try Canada (you're active on Giving birth in Canada thread as well cos I visit there too).
Please calm down and just keep hope alive.
I wish you success.

Omodadi2:
This is sad. But I see you prepared well before applying. However, did you indicate the purpose of childbirth/medical?
And also, I think the proof to return really lies in the LOE that we put with applications or what do you think? cos I av seen ppl with good jobs and properties being denied on the same reason.
My purpose was Visit (I had an invitation letter). In my own case, maybe I should have just used hotel reservation (abi if you don't have a permanent place to stay, will you run away?).
What's LOE?
TravelRe: Giving Birth In Canada by Godsgoodness:
My people, I am back. Visa denied. To think that they kept my passport for 11 weeks (paper application).
Purpose was visit.
I kinda feel my application was abandoned somewhere and later found with maybe missing items. Their reason for denial is that 'they don't think I will return' meanwhile I visit US, UK, Dubai very frequently and I have my family here.
By the way, I wasn't notified that my passport was ready, so for another 2 weeks I didn't track my passport was lying in VFS. Didn't they have my number or email? Meanwhile minutes after I picked up, I got their notification via SMS.
Maybe online would have been better so I jeje upload my documents by myself who knows?

Congrats to the latest mamas and visa recipients!

Thanks. Nothing yet to share. About to apply for visa. I'm getting my documents ready. Got some doctors/hospital contacts from here and my host in Canada is helping to contact them. I'll definitely share whatever I have as I have gotten a lot from this thread.

JESUnifemi4eva:
Hi Godsgoodness, the thread isnt closed....we just need people to share their experiences or maybe people haven't travelled to give birth in the past few months.

All the best on your journey....and please share your testimony, it just might ginger the thread again.
TravelRe: Giving Birth In Canada by Godsgoodness: 11:36am On Jul 21, 2017
Sad
I guess this thread is closed. No one is saying anything again. Not even people that recently travelled or put to bed. Has the Canadian laws changedhuh?
TravelRe: Giving Birth In Canada by Godsgoodness:
Hello curvydiva, seems we'll be due about the same time. You need to start by applying for a Canadian visa after which you will settle for your location. From people's experiences on the thread, it seems Toronto is the place of choice for those who don't have anyone in other parts of Canada.
How to go about the visa application and documents that may increase your chances have been elaborated on the thread. Same with hospitals/doctors and POE experiences. Try to go through the thread and you'll find very useful info that will help.
If you decide on Toronto, we can plan together.

@lollarojo, El Paso is still open for me. Minneapolis came up as a plan B because I have family there and wanted to avoid boredom. If by Tuesday I'm not able to get a good deal, I'll go ahead with El Paso so I can start to plan on time. When do you plan to travel, you could send your contact as a mail so we can plan together.

Hi every one. I must say well done to every one who has contributed to this thread, great job. I'm due in June, 2014 and after going through the entire thread, Elpaso was my choice and I've even gone ahead to contact them. However, something came up and I have to consider Minneapolis. Pls can anyone help out with links, numbers, names or websites of clinics/doctors/packages in Minneapolis? Thanks in advance and compliments of the season to every one.
