Just saw this R.I.P dear ma'am "Life doesn't end here" --Andres Escobar

QPR defender's wife, Rebecca, has died after a short battle with cancer
The wife of Rio Ferdinand, the former England captain, has died after a short battle with cancer, leaving behind three young children.
Rebecca Ellison, 34, died on Friday night at the Royal Marsden Hospital, where she was being treated. It is understood she had been suffering from breast cancer.
In a moving statement, Ferdinand, 36, described his wife as his “soul mate” who would “live on... as a guide and inspiration”. With it, Ferdinand also posted online a photograph of himself with his wife taken in happier times.
Devastated to hear about the loss of Rebecca, my thoughts are with Rio and their family at this terribly sad time.— Michael Carrick (@carras16) May 2, 2015
The couple, who married in 2009, have three children Lorenz, nine, Tate, six, and four-year-old Tia.
Rio Ferdinand has paid tribute to his wife Rebecca
In a statement published on the website of Ferdinand’s current club Queen’s Park Rangers, the footballer said yesterday: “My soul mate slipped away last night. Rebecca, my wonderful wife, passed away peacefully after a short battle with cancer at the Royal Marsden Hospital in London.
“She was a fantastic loving mother to our three beautiful children. She will be missed as a wife, sister, aunt, daughter and granddaughter. She will live on in our memory, as a guide and inspiration.
“Myself, my parents Janice and Julian, along with Rebecca’s parents Lesley and Stephen, would like to thank our families, friends and my club colleagues who have rallied around in these desperate days, weeks and months.”
• Time to salute Rio Ferdinand - role model and hero
He went on to thank the doctors who treated her following the diagnosis of cancer in recent weeks, singling out Stephen Johnston, Professor of Breast Cancer Medicine at the Royal Marsden, for praise.
Ferdinand said: “I would also like to express my gratitude for the dedication and expertise of the staff... at the Royal Marsden. Their valiant efforts to prolong Rebecca’s all-too-short life will not be forgotten.”
He added: “Our grief, as a family, is total. We would appreciate being allowed to mourn privately.”

Ferdinand, formerly of West Ham, Leeds and Manchester United, had been excused from the Queen’s Park Rangers team for the past few weeks although his absence had not been explained publicly until now. The players are due to wear black arm bands for today’s away match at Liverpool.
Friends of Ferdinand expressed their sorrow today.

His former Manchester United team mate Wayne Rooney posted on Twitter: “Devastated to hear about Rebecca. My prayers are with Rio and his family at this sad time.”
Gary Lineker, the former England striker and match of the day presenter, wrote: “Thoughts are with Rio Ferdinand and his family. How dreadfully sad,” while Michael Vaughan, the former England cricket captain, posted: “Incredibly sad news... Thinking of you @rioferdy5 and your young family.”

Manchester United used its club Twitter account to express condolences. “Everybody’s thoughts at #mufc are with Rio Ferdinand today, whose wife sadly passed away last night,” the club said.
Former Aston Villa and England striker Dion Dublin added: "My thoughts are with @rioferdy5 his children and his family....... RIP Becky."
Stoke midfielder Charlie Adam wrote: "Thoughts with @rioferdy5 and his family on such terrible news."
Ferdinand joined QPR last summer after 12 trophy-laden years at United following the Hoops' return to the Premier League and has made 12 appearances for them this season. He had not been included in the squad in recent weeks.

QPR also paid tribute to Ferdinand's wife, who was 34 when she died, and announced that their players would wear black armbands against Liverpool at Anfield on Saturday afternoon.
In a statement, the west London club said: "The thoughts of everyone at Queens Park Rangers Football Club are with Rio and his family at this immensely difficult time."
A statement on Liverpool's website read: "Liverpool FC offers its deepest condolences to Rio and his family and friends at this sad time."

"He told me it had to be 5ft x 3ft x 2.5ft, (1.5m x 0.9m x 0.75m)," says McSorley. "I knew Reg and I thought, 'He's going to do it regardless, so if he's going to do it I'd better make him a box that at least is going to get him there.'"
Built to Spiers's specifications, the crate allowed him to sit up straight-legged, or lie on his back with his knees bent. The two ends of the crate were held in place by wooden spigots operated from the inside, so Spiers could let himself out of either end. It was fitted with straps to hold him in place as the crate was loaded and unloaded.
To avoid any suspicion that a person was inside, the crate was labelled as a load of paint and addressed to a fictitious Australian shoe company.
The replica shows how straps were fixed inside the box
Although the cost of sending such a large and heavy cargo would have been more than a passenger seat, Spiers knew he could send himself cash-on-delivery - and worry about how to pay the fees once he arrived in Australia.
Packed into the box with some tinned food, a torch, a blanket and a pillow, plus two plastic bottles - one for water, one for urine - Spiers was loaded on to an Air India plane bound for Perth, Western Australia. Although Spiers wanted ultimately to get to Adelaide, Perth was chosen because it was a smaller airport.
He endured a 24-hour delay at the airport in London due to fog, and let himself out of the crate once the plane was in the air.
"I got out of the box between London and Paris, dying for a leak," says Spiers. "I peed in a can and put it on top of the box. I was stretching my legs and all of a sudden, because it's a short distance, the plane began to descend. A little panicky I jumped back in the box, and the can full of pee was still sitting on top."
I was grinning from ear to ear, but I wasn't going to let them know I'm there now - I've almost pulled the whole thing off
Reg Spiers
The French baggage handlers in Paris thought the can's unsavoury contents had been left for them as an unkind joke by their counterparts in London.
"They were saying some terrible things about the English," says Spiers. "But they didn't even think of the box. So I kept on going."
The next stop on the long journey back to Australia was in Bombay, where baggage handlers parked Spiers - upside down - in the sun's glare for four hours.
"It was hot as hell in Bombay so I took off all my clothes," he says. "Wouldn't it have been funny if I'd got pinched then?"
"They had the thing on its end. I was on the tarmac while they were changing me from one plane to another. I'm strapped in but my feet are up in the air. I'm sweating like a pig but not to give up - wait, be patient - and eventually they came and got me and put me on another plane."
When the plane finally touched down in Perth, the cargo hold was opened and Spiers heard the Australian baggage handlers swearing about the size of the crate he was in. He knew immediately he was home.
"The accents - how could you miss?" says Spiers. "I'm on the soil. Amazing. Wonderful. I made it.
"I was grinning from ear to ear, but I wasn't going to let them know I'm there now - I've almost pulled the whole thing off.
"I knew they would take the box to a bond shed. When they put me in the shed I got out straight away. There were cartons of beer in there. I don't drink but I whipped a beer out and had a drink of that."
Reg Spiers in London before his freight journey in 1964
Spiers had survived three days travelling in the wooden crate. But he still faced the challenge of getting out of the airport. Fortunately, his luck continued.
"There were some tools in there so I just cut a hole in the wall and got out.
"There was no security. I put on a suit out of my bag so I looked cool, jumped through the window, walked out on to the street and thumbed a ride into town. Simple as that."
But back in England, John McSorley, who had built the crate and delivered Spiers to the airport, was desperately worried about his friend. Spiers hitchhiked his way back to his family in Adelaide, but neglected to tell McSorley he had come through his journey intact.
In an effort to find out what had happened, McSorley alerted the media, and Spiers quickly became a sensation in his home country.
"I got a telegram from a renowned Australian politician," he says, which read, "'A gallant effort by a real Aussie - and here's five quid.' I'm winning big time. It was great."
In the end the airline didn't make him pay the shipping fees. But Spiers admits he was taken aback by the media coverage of his adventure.
"I'd never seen anything like it. It scared the hell out of my mother with the whole street blocked with media. And it would go on for weeks. It was pretty wild."
Spiers succeeded in making it back in time for his daughter's birthday but he still had a job convincing his wife his story was true.
"She didn't believe me," he says. "But then she thought about it and thought 'He must have done it, how else did he get here?' So eventually she rode with it."
Air industry insiders say something like this would never be able to happen now. The hold is usually pressurised and the temperature will usually be above freezing but all cargo loaded on to planes is screened for security reasons and a hidden person would be found.
What happened next
*.Reg Spiers disappeared from Adelaide in 1981 after he was charged with conspiracy to import cocaine
*.He was arrested in Sri Lanka in 1984 and sentenced to death for drugs offences
*.He successfully appealed against the sentence and spent five years in jail in Australia

Celebrities › Survivor: The Man Who Posted Himself to Australia by GODWINGODSON(op):
In the mid-1960s, Australian athlete Reg Spiers found himself stranded in London with no money to buy a plane ticket home. Desperate to get back to Australia in time for his daughter's birthday, he decided to post himself in a wooden crate.
"I just got in the thing and went. What was there to be frightened of? I'm not frightened of the dark so I just sat there.
"It's like when I travel now if I go overseas. There's the seat. Sit in it, and go."
Reg Spiers makes it sound very straightforward more than half a century later, but it caused a media storm in Australia at the time.
He explains his attitude like this: "I've come up with this mad scheme to get back to Australia in a box. Who can say it won't work? Let's give it a shot."
Spiers had come to the UK to try to recover from an injury that had interrupted his athletics career. A promising javelin thrower, he had been on course to compete at the Tokyo Olympics in 1964.
But when it became clear he would not make the games, Spiers set his mind to raising enough money to fly back to Australia, and took an airport job to earn some cash.
But his plans changed when his wallet, containing all his savings, was stolen. With a wife and daughter back home, Spiers wanted to get back to Adelaide, but "there was one catch," he explains. "I didn't have any money."
And with his daughter's birthday looming, he was in a hurry.
"I worked in the export cargo section, so I knew about cash-on-delivery with freight. I'd seen animals come through all the time and I thought, 'If they can do it I can do it.'"
A miniature replica of the box used to promote a book about the escapade
Spiers also knew the maximum size of crate that could be sent by air freight. He had been staying with a friend, John McSorley, in London, and persuaded him to build a box in which he could send himself home.

Guys I was just browsing and then I saw a link that led to where to buy the Holy Bible on amazon.com I saw the price and then like I checked the reviews(not because I wanted to know if it was good I KNOW it's lifesaving in fact priceless!) and while doing so I saw this review this below review obviously the reviewer bought the Holy Bible thinking it was a novel and the he read it twice because he couldn't understand it just imagine if he had a christian to guide him someone who's willing to read the Holy Bible twice! Just imagine what he would become if he had the guidance of a christian my dear brother/sister I used to think everybody in the world were already saved until I today please let's do EVANGELISM that suyaman might need it your closest friend might need it MAY GOD GUIDE US IN JESUS NAME AMEN!

So after thoroughly perusing the pages of this novel (twice), I thought I'd share a few thoughts on it. The story starts off reasonably straight-forward, though the author of the first few books seems to be a bit vague and doesn't offer much background or detail about the world in which the story takes place before introducing the main protagonist, Adam. The early main plot line spends a great deal of time describing genealogical information of what I assume are the members of an important family (families?) involved with the story and descended from this Adam character. It seemed a bit overdone, though I guess Tolkien also spent a great deal of time on the seemingly mundane in his books and they're pretty popular. Speaking of which, there are a number of times that magic is invoked to turn rods to snakes or move large bodies of water around. There are also talking serpents and donkeys, so if you're into fantasy fiction this book might interest you.
It's not long before the timeline starts shifting around, though, and it's easy to lose track. It also looks as though there were multiple authors involved in the book's creation. If so, that would go a long way in explaining why the story lines often repeat information the reader has already learned or outright contradicts previous details presented by earlier writers. Why the editor didn't clean up the disparate plot lines and ensure the narrative was consistent is beyond me. Whatever the reason, the editing is atrocious. I don't understand why the authors weren't credited. Some of the books reference names, but I suspect these names are not the real authors. Maybe the quality of the book was such that they wanted to avoid credit?
I did enjoy the numerous battle sequences, though I thought the author(s) could have done a much better job of detailing the action as well as making the motivations for the violence less one-dimensional. It seemed to me the only reason for the seemingly senseless violence was because the primary god in this book said so. I was also confused as to why the author decided to destroy the world near the beginning of the book. It seemed out-of-place and anti-climactic, not to mention a bit far-fetched even for a fiction book. The deity, Yahweh, could have used a lot more character development during the first half of the book as well. Through most of the first half of the novel, the god is ordering the wholesale slaughter of thousands of people for seemingly trivial reasons and doesn't really do much to explain his motivations. I'm also confused as to why this god gets angry when other characters do what they do. He's supposed to be omnipotent and should know exactly what they're going to do. Why, then, would he get angry when they do it? The authors do make a concerted though not altogether consistent attempt to reinvent the god's personality in the second half of the book, but this almost complete reversal of personality traits makes the character seem forced and even more inconsistent that he was in the first half.
I enjoyed the use of personal letters as a vehicle for the narrative. That's a great way for the author(s) to share more information about a character's thoughts and it flows better than narrating in the third-person. Again, though, the editing is pretty horrible and many ideas that come from various characters and are supposed to be in sync aren't. Maybe there just wasn't enough money in the budget to edit properly?
The second half of the book is decidedly more peaceful than the first. The story line picks up at the birth of the new protagonist, Jesus. Then for some inexplicable reason, the author(s) decide to skip upwards of 30 years of his life and jump right into his academic career. Maybe his growth and development doesn't do much for the story, but missing out on the details of his mid-life seems to degrade from the character's development. To top it off, this character is supposed to be Yahweh from the first half of the book, but then later on he is visited by Yahweh in the form of a dove. There's also some kind of ghost or phantom character that's also supposed to be him. Needless to say, the author(s) go off into left field with who this character is and sorting it out is a nightmare.
Jesus then spends several years spreading a good amount of wisdom in the form of stories and public examples. Despite his questionable origins, the character turns out to be very compassionate and caring about the poor and the sick. I think he's one of the best characters in the novel and I like a lot of the ideas the author(s) present through him. If you're a political Conservative, though, I suspect you won't like this character. He advocates the sharing of wealth with the poor and consorts easily with prostitutes and disease-ridden people in order to help them. He also doesn't have much use for money (the horror!). He's able to cast magic spells to heal and resurrect people, which is not normal for people of this world. That lends him an air of mystery but also makes him an enemy of the power pushers in the area.
Eventually he's betrayed by one of his confidantes and is summarily executed. After that, other authors add in additional information or details that might have been missed, though these details are not caught by the editor and are sometimes contradictory. The end of the book is odd in that the author adds in a large dose of prophecy and visions that are so vague and general it's like reading the astrology section of the local newspaper. The main protagonist is dead so why bother with so much extra information at the end??
Final Thoughts:
I thought the book had a lot of interesting ideas and stories, but the inconsistency of the characters and the atrocious editing pretty much ruined it for me. The plot lines were so haphazard and the points made were so contradictory at times that I just couldn't bring myself to give this book a rating any higher than one star. I'll give it credit for imagination, but even books of fiction need to have some basis in reality. This book definitely fails in that regard.
