Why Would Chinese Or American Soldiers Care? When A Fight Against Boko Haram Is Against Islam And Northerners. |
The debate of Harry Maguire's kick on Batshuayi was all over every Football news page, whether the English International was lucky to have escaped a red card. Var inconsistencies was also reviewed and a similar case of where Chelsea benefited from Var decisions were brought forth. Here is an incident of where Jorginho appeared to pull back Guendouzi after the Frenchman was away while Arsenal were pushing a counter attack, and the Italian was already on a yellow card before the incident, and everybody in the stadium was like "red card" but to the surprise of viewers the Italian escaped and further punishment and went on to score as Chelsea came from Behind to collect all three points at the emirates courtesy of a Tammy Abraham winner. And the question is if Maguire should have seen red, what then should be made of Jorginho challenge.

Daily Post Nigeria METROKaduna Govt to prosecute parents for not sending children to schoolPublished 1 hour ago on January 24, 2020 By Annie Nwosu The Kaduna State Government, on Friday, advised parents to send their children to school or face prosecution in accordance with extant laws. The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education, Mrs Phoebe Yayi, gave the advice in Kaduna in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN). Yayi stressed that every child has the right to free, compulsory and universal basic education, adding that the state government has a duty to provide such education. She said that in meeting this obligation, the government has declared free education to every child from primary to secondary school in the state. The permanent secretary explained that the move was part of measures to ensure that every resident of the state was literate, to enable them to have a quality life. “Therefore, parents have no excuse not to send their children to school, as the government has taken off all financial burden from parents. “You should be aware that the Child Welfare and Protection Law, 2018, section 18 (6), stipulates that any parent or guardian who fails to send his or her child to school commits an offence. “It added that a parent is liable on a first conviction to be reprimanded and ordered to undertake community service and on second conviction risk fine or imprisonment or both. “As such, sending your children to school is no longer a choice, but compulsory and failure to do so is a criminal offence with possible jail term.” She warned that on no account should any parent deny his or her child the right to education, which would unlock the child’s full potential for a better future. The permanent secretary added that even adults were given a second chance to acquire an education in the spirit of “not living any one behind.” She reiterated the government’s commitment to making the necessary investment in the education sector, improve learning environment and ensure the quality of teaching and learning.

A debate has been raging on social media following the decision of the President, Maj.Gen Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), to allow his daughter, Hanan Buhari, to use the Presidential jet. This is despite complaints by Nigerians that the budget of N8.5bn for the Presidential jets in the 2020 budget is too high. Hanan, according to Daily Nigerian, was conveyed by the Presidential jet to attend the Durbar in Bauchi on Thursday. The President’s daughter, who recently graduated with a first class in Photography from Ravensbourne University, London, was said to have been invited by the Emir of Bauchi, Rilwanu Adamu, as a special guest of honour. In photographs which have since gone viral on social media, Hanan could be seen disembarking from the plane and being welcomed by Gombe State officials. It was gathered that the durbar was specially organised to avail the President’s daughter of the opportunity to take photographs of the traditional durbar, Bauchi architecture and other cultural sites in the state. As a professional photographer, Miss Buhari is expected to document her experiences in pictorial form in her gallery. The incident has since sparked a debate on social media. Pro-transparency activist, Inibehe Effiong, described the use of the Presidential jet by Buhari’s daughter as an abuse of office and a waste of tax payers’ money. “Buhari is only fooling himself and his supporters with this fake integrity,” he added. Some Buhari supporters, however, said there was nothing wrong with the President allowing his daughter to use the Presidential jet. When contacted on the telephone, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, said a statement would be issued soon. “We will soon put out a statement,” he said. The PUNCH reports that by convention, only the President, first lady, Vice-President, Senate President, Speaker, Chief Justice of Nigeria, former Presidents and a Presidential delegation are allowed to use the Presidential jet. Recall that Buhari had before becoming President, criticised past governments for misusing public funds. The All Progressives Congress had promised to sell off some of the jets in the Presidential fleet due to the high cost of maintenance. However, only two helicopters out of the fleet of 10 was donated to the Nigerian Air Force while two presidential aircraft, a Falcon 7X executive jet and Hawker 4000, that were advertised for sale in October 2016, had yet to be sold as of 2018. About N8.5bn was allocated for the maintenance of the Presidential fleet in the 2020 budget. https://punchng.com/buharis-daughter-uses-presidential-jet-for-personal-engagement/amp/?__twitter_impression=true |
Says Buhari has done more for S/East than PDP did in 16 years.... 17' Home » News » Nobody is marginalising you, Ngige tells Igbo Nobody is marginalising you, Ngige tells Igbo ON JANUARY 11, 20207:09 AMIN INTERVIEW, NEWS Says Buhari has done more for S/East than PDP did in 16 years Speaks about 2023 elections BY VINCENT UJUMADU MINISTER of Labour and Employment, Senator Chris Ngige is rated high in the South East. His achievement during his tenure as the governor of Anambra State between 2003 and 2006 is still rated high among Anambra people. In this interview, Ngige spoke on the easiest way for the Igbo person to become the president of Nigeria. He also spoke on the Second Niger Bridge, the ongoing repairs at the Akanu Ibiam International Ariport, Enugu, the leadership of APC in the South East and the controversial zoning arrangement for governorship in Anambra State.Excerpts: What stage is the 2nd Niger Bridge now, especially the issue of payment of compensation and toll? The 2nd Niger Bridge is ongoing. The contractor has given an undertaking on his own to deliver the project before the appointed date of 2022 and handover, and I believe them because they’re working day and night. Apart from the little hiccup occasioned by demands for compensation, they’re on schedule. The job is on 45% completion and the fund for the construction is available. That is the good news for the people of the South East. The cost of the bridge from exit route of Delta and South- East , South- South is about N336bn, and the money is available unlike the Obasanjo/Jonathan arrangement when they were trying to look for PPP. But now we’re building the bridge as one of the flagship projects of the Federal Government which are- Lagos/Ibadan, East-West Road, 2nd Niger Bridge, Abuja-Kaduna-Kano, and Mabilla. Work has started in all these because money is guaranteed. The 2nd Niger Bridge which concerns me and you and people of South-South, South-West and North-Central is on course. It’s a very strategic bridge that links both North, South East, South South, South West. It’s a very cheering news because during the time of PDP, I opposed it in the senate and I had a very serious altercation at the South-East caucus meeting with the then deputy senate president, Ekweremadu and ministry of finance and then SGF Anyim Pius. I blasted them that they had not treated us well. Whereas others were getting bridges that are toll free these people are giving us toll bridge. https://www.vanguardngr.com/2020/01/nobody-is-marginalising-you-ngige-tells-igbo/

With all certainty, someday you will have to take up the mantle of leadership in this country, and you should be prepared for huge responsibilities, President Muhammadu Buhari Friday told Nigerian youths in Abuja. The president, who received All Progressives Congress (APC) youth leaders from the six geo-political zones, advised the younger generation to keep a broader view of the country as one entity, and continuously de-emphasize ethnic and religious backgrounds in nation building. “Whether we like it or not, we will someday handover to Nigerian youths. And you have to brace up for leadership. Some interest groups will come up with ethnic, religious issues, but you have to look at the broader picture. “We had a civil war that consumed over 2 million Nigerians, and we learnt our lessons. Nigeria is one country, and no one should take our firmness for granted,’’ he said. President Buhari said he took interest in politics after a clean bill on his integrity by those who detained him after the 1985 military coup and who thoroughly checked his record as governor of the North East, Minister of Petroleum and Head of State and found nothing incriminating. “After I was released and nothing was found on me I took interest in politics. This is what pushed me into partisan politics; to serve with integrity. So I decided to try leadership as a civilian, after taking off the military uniform,’’ he added. On his second tenure, the President assured that he would be more firm, focused and relentless in delivering results, especially in securing the country, stimulating the economy to work for all, and fighting corruption “I am currently serving my last term in office. I swore by the constitution to defend the country, and I will do the needful for the country,’’ President Buhari said. In his remarks, National Youth Leader of the APC, Comrade Sadiq Shuaibu Abubakar, congratulated the President for winning the Presidential elections in 2019, assuring him that the youths will continue to support his policies and vision of greatness for the country. Abubakar urged the President to get more youths involved in governance so as to learn from his “treasured wisdom

The former president said that there was no reason for the attack, pointing out that he had done his own part for the development Nigeria as nation. He called on security agencies to ensure that those who carried out the act were brought to book. Earlier, President of IYC, Mr Pereotubo Oweilaemi, had called on security agencies to ensure the unmasking of the perpetrators of the attack. “The attack on former President Jonathan’s home at Otuoke is really embarrassing. The perpetrators of that dastardly act should not go unpunished. Security agencies should ensure they fish out those hoodlums. “We are calling on the neighbouring communities around Otuoke to cooperate with the security agencies in order to fish out those bandits,” he said. Also speaking, Mr Kennedy West, a youth leader, said that it was saddening that people from the region could plan an attack on the former president.
