How helpful was your Supervisor in the course of writting your Project. if giving another chance will you preffer a different long essay topic.
"the rellevance of statutory and non statutory legal principles to Environmental Health and Safety Management; a comparative analysis of Nigeria and other jurisdictions". researching. the topic supral was so rewarding that I am already working on converting the research into my very first book.
if you are currently in final year my advice is start
now and avoid the fire brigade approach by taking the following steps.
1. reveiw and select three areas of law that you find interesting and relevant to your future area of specialisation..
2. submitt three typed copies of the sellected topic to your study center for approval.
3. while awaiting the school approval start reading widely about the topics and collate your materials together while you await approval of the school on your submitted topic.
4. Next and very importantly write a letter to the school registra copying your centet director requesting for a copy of your statement of result from one hundred level to date so as to harmonise your records and reconcile issues of missing results if any so as to ensure a hitchfree graduation.
5. then await your project Supervisor and topic from the school.
if you have any question feel free to ask as I. shall be glad to oblige you in any way I can.
EducationNational Open University Of Nigeria Law Students And Graduates. by goldeojays(op): 10:52am On Jan 03, 2014
Lawyers by Equity has become a trite phrase common among Graduating Students of Noun glorious School of Law when reffering to co students. I make bold to posist that now is the time for all of us to come together and form a pressure group to prevail on the school authourity to ensure that the recent exclusion of Noun graduate from the youth service programm after paying for Jamb reguliarization and meeting with the requirement of the NYSC Act is not repeated as far as law school is concerned.

With the current state of exclusion, the hope of many of our students especially the young once have been crushed. As a matter of fact the Act establishing NYSC inded made provision for some category of persons to be granted exclusion from the service like NDA graduates but what I am yet to get clearly is if they are meant to pay for Jamb regulirization before exclusion certificate is issued out to them......

However it is more than impearative that we Noun Law Advocates even as some claim by equity, start now to utilise the legal knowledge we have so far aquired to defend our rights especially as it relates to our addmission into Nigeria Law School moreso with the recent appointment of a new D.G. for the Nigeria Law School.

Personally each time I hear people contend that Noun student should not be eligible for law school I tell my self; it is either they are ill-informed of what open and distance learning is all about or they are afraid of the potential exposure of the dearth of legal education in conventional institutions.

Whatever their reason(s) I'm very sure many of us have thoroughly enjoyed our law study with noun and by no means feel inferior to the kids from the other block.
Law school is the perfect plateform to subject us all to thesame programm and the result will speak for itself.

Additionally if you have had any outstanding experience in the course of your study you could share it here. if you have any legal question please feel free to ask as well as provide updates of current happenings. please note that rumours are not. allowed and for the kids from conventional institutions studying law do feel free to join this thread.

EducationRe: National Open University Of Nigeria (NOUN) Students by goldeojays(m): 12:59am On Jan 20, 2013
Is noun fearful of awarding first class to her students? I personally know guys who merit it especially from the school of Law. Since they are yet to graduate students from that school I say the waiting game continues.
But I strongly make a case for the law students you guys are in a class of your own.
As to the fear of some who entertain reservation as to the marketability of noun products I dare say that a second class holder from noun mind you upper division(2.1) can stand any first class holder on earth.
I am not a first class freak and don't believe in searching for work but in creating work for others, and so think that anybody who spends 4yrs in school and still don't know how to create jobs has a fundamental defect.
EducationRe: National Open University Of Nigeria (NOUN) Students by goldeojays(m): 8:44pm On Apr 15, 2012
I must seriously commend the great master mind behind this blog. you guys have done quite a nice job on noun, I am a noun student who is convinced that the project will eventually work.
infact I enrolled in 2007 to study law partly to prove at Law school that Noun products can give the Unilag, UI, uniben and etc guys a good run for their money. presently i am in 400level just one more year to go. God help you fellow Law students when we meet at the law school. prepare to meet the stuff noun is made up of. please dont take it personal just my own way of proving that now have what it takes to churn out the best student imaginable.
for those of you interested in studying at noun, please kindly try the next door if you dont appreciate what hardwork involves. i can assure you all that you can cheat your way through waec and neco gain cheap admission at noun since there is no jamb or post utme. however the e-exams and Tma will espose you at the long run so either learn to work hard before coming on board noun or go to where you can sort lecturers. So help us JEHOVAH the almighty God who loats malpractice of all sort.

EducationRe: National Open University of Nigeria by goldeojays(m): 8:38pm On Jun 11, 2007
@larry
Just have a strong emotional or sentimental attachment to that stuff.
recently though, I am beginning to have a rethink.
just need something I can be an authority on. since I may want to go into lecturing either on part time bases or full time.
Presently I am thinking of going into peace and conflict resolution. some thing that is a kind of new and unpopular in the country yet with an international appeal.
As I earlier told you I am a mechanical technician but you know the work is kind of demanding and after some years your powers start failing and teaching in a university will just be right then for a person of my sort. also, I ve a flare for imparting knowledge to others a kind of gift I should say. not for the finical benefits but for the joy and satisfaction that can accrue from it.
waiting to, hear from you larry.

        @k,
as for the time of resumption  called the office and wasd told that it going to be after the senate meets which the told me was giong to to be soon. may be you can call yourself.
EducationRe: National Open University of Nigeria by goldeojays(m): 10:09am On Jun 02, 2007
@larry
That is not a bad idea. remember it is possible for you to defer the admission to the following year if you are not finiancialy comfortable as at the time of gaining the addmission.
I intend to go for law though am a mechanical guy at the moment. you know I wish I can pursue a course in Law to msc level and just divert into lecturing or something.
EducationRe: National Open University of Nigeria by goldeojays(m): 12:32pm On Jun 01, 2007
@larry
I called their office at Lagos this morning and was told that the addmission form will last to the end of june and that the form cost 2500, only.
As for accerptance there is no reason why the would not accerpt it. this is a federal university which accreditation from Unesco, the common wealth of nation and the nigeria university commision I mean the system can only get better.
As for me I intend to apply.
what course do you intend to go for larry?

EducationRe: National Open University of Nigeria by goldeojays(m): 6:22pm On Apr 06, 2007
larry the fees is kind of expensive. 50, 000. can take care of 1 session. remember you are treated like a working class sort of. although thos in the hem of affairs promised the fees will come down as soon as things start taking real shape. as for the duration . a minimum of two and half year and as long as 8 years can put a degree in your kittim.
EducationRe: National Open University of Nigeria by goldeojays(m): 8:46pm On Apr 01, 2007
auwal, I think I like guys of you sort who are still positive that things will work out in this country some of our forks might be tempted to call dame god forgotten. I wish you all the best in your studies. remember hard work always pays at the long run.
EducationRe: National Open University of Nigeria by goldeojays(m): 9:20pm On Mar 30, 2007
the requirement for noun is the same with every other conventional university in the country. the only diff is that you don't have to sit for an exam before gaining addmission. also there are consideration for those who don't have the minimum requirement to start with some predegree kind of stuff.
personally I intend to enroll for the 2007 addmission to study law. who cares if our people will accept it or not.
once I am done withthe first degree I will just proceed to any other conventional university here in the country or abroad. the beauty of the whole programme is that you can work and school. some thing that have worked and will continue to work in other developed countries.
guys let us be positive as we keep our hands crossed.
