I did not say some clowns. I said weaker league. It is a fact. I hope you realise Austria qualified for the last Euro nations cup, winning 9 games at a spin and drew only once out of 10 games. At some point last year, they made the Fifa top 10. All these achieved with mostly players from their league. You may say their league is weak, but it doesn't change the fact that something is brewing in that country. I rate the Austrian league ahead of the Scandinavian league. I honestly do not see a gulf in class between the Austrian league and Belgian league. They are on par with Belgian and Swiz leagues. They have recorded massive growth. |

TheGoodJoe: Does not make the league strong. They are certainly moving in the right direction and their teams are getting good results in Europe. Even Rebull Slazburg hit Pep Guardiola's Bayern Munich 3 :0. This sort performances and results will make you understand that Kayode is not playing against some clowns. I frankly prefer Austrian league to the Scandinavia leagues. |

tbaba1234: Alaba was under 17 when he joined Bayern. He was not made by the Austrian League.
Mane did not take the premier league by storm.. He was a decent player, nothing more. It's not about just the league. It'd about football development in the country in general. They invested massively in their football system from bottom up, while hiring highly qualified managers mostly from Germany. Their investment saw them qualify for the European nations cup last year. A feat they never managed to achieve in donkey years. Alaba was nurtured from the system. If they didn't construct that platform, Bayern Munich wouldn't have discovered Alaba in the first place. |

TheGoodJoe: Should I give a list of stars in the La Liga, EPL, Serie A and Bundesliga for you to understand the gap in the quality of these leagues to Austria? All I am saying is do not make being the top scorer in Austria such a big deal. The competition is far less there. Frankly speaking, you totally typed out of context from my initial post. |

OMANBALA1: Kayode is a super talent in a lowly rated Austrian league. If so,then Nwakaeme is equally a super talent...Personally,I rate Israeli league above the Austrian league. He needs to move to a more competitive league like the Netherlands,Belgium or even Russia. If he remains in Austria young bloods like Osimhen and Orji will displace him. Staying in Austria isn't entirely up to him. Transfers don't just happen at the players wish. Certain things need to be in place before a transfer could happen. For instance, being a non EU player with zero caps for the national team could prove to be a transfer bottle neck for him. You have to factor some of these things. |

chrisooblog: ighalo was also prolific for two seasons in championship and EPL. In all this osimhen debate no one has mentioned the player whose destiny he is blocking True, Ighalo had 2 prolific seasons in Europe. However, compare a 24 yr old Ighalo vs 24 yr old Kayode, the difference is quite glaring. About Osimhen, are you honestly saying that you can't list Nigerian strikers in Europe last season who scored a raft of goals while Osimhen played a paltry 41 minutes? This reminds me how England dropped an inform Premier league winner in Danny Drinkwater and instead went to battle with Jack Wilshere who registered just 141 minutes enroute Euro 2016. Roy Hudson hung and dried by this decision which ultimately cost him his job. |

If Kayode was not a talent, he would not be in camp. He was always promising from his U17 days. I doubt anyone is saying Kayode is not a talent. I am just saying you should not overhype his Austrian exploits. I highlighted his exploits over the 2 seasons to indicate he's not a watered down talent in comparison to Kelechi and Osimhen like someone was trying to us believe. Because he haven't had a shot at bugger league shouldn't be used to measure how talented he actually is. |

Talent but not strong enough to displace the likes of Ighalo and Emenike at that time. By the way, the second season just happened. So it shows why it took long for him to get a call-up. The competition is stiff. Austrian goals is not strong enough. The young man needs to keep working hard. If Alaba and Mane were discovered in Austria not so long ago, it clearly should indicate to you that the league is coming in leap and bound. The fact that Redbull recognised the potential there and decided to invest heavily in the Austrian market by their ownership of Redbull salzburg should tell you something. Even top. German managers like Ralph Ragnic, Otmar Hitzfield and Roger Shmidt have all worked in Austria. Go watch how Austra Vienna destroyed As Roma, you will get the gist about the tremendous growth currently witnessed in Austria. |

Prolific for two seasons in Austria. Not the same as what Ighalo did. Add his exploit in the Europa league to that and you're looking at a real talent. |

Mane poached from, not called up to the Super Eagles. Even Alaba got poached from Austria. The point is that you should not make it look as if topping the league in Austria is similar to the EPL and La Liga. The competition is less. Being top scorer in Austria and most scoring Nigerian player in Europe for 2 seasons in a row, all achieved while still under 25yrs, seriously indicate he's a talent who deserves a look in. |

Keep in mind that Ighalo was also hot property and we had the likes of Ideye and Emenike. Ighalo only had one good season, same as Emenike. Kayode have been prolific for 2 seasons in a row and he's younger than both of them., hence my submission that his celine is quite high. |

OMANBALA1: Sometimes there are circumstances that influence coaches choices and players invitation and these things can be a little confusing. For instance,Kayode was already an established striker in Austria when Osimhen was still at the U17 ,yet Osimhen was invited ahead of Kayode due to the fact that Austrian league was lowly ranked while in Osimhen we discovered a super duper talent that needs to be nurtured on time.
And lets be honest,Kayode is not a rare super talent like Osimhen and Iheanacho. Kayode have been the highest scoring Nigerian player in Europe for 2 seasons in a row. He's a super talent who haven't been given an opportunity at the top level. He's a lot like Mane. Any good talent spotter will see that. |

A lot forget that d same Onigbinde made young Stephen Keshi his captain in Afcon 84 over Muda Lawal a yoruba man who was making 5th Afcon appearance at Afcon 84.
Good Rohr is not a Ibo man,he could have been tagged a tribalism for inviting Osimieh to camp. Osimhen is not Igbo. |

TheGoodJoe: Yes. Rohr said he did not invite him again because of he did not want a young player suffering from rejections. Not that the boy was not impressive. Rohr invited him and was not disappointed which meant him keeping his place in camp. The question you should ask yourself is that, if game time was all that, why did Osimhen keep his place in camp, get a chance for a debut while regular game time players got kicked out? Rohr discharged the other players even before Osimhen came to camp. Wasn't as if Osimhen was outperforming anyone. The place was already reserved for him from day 1 |

TheGoodJoe: My perspective is not hidden. I am more interested with what goes on on the training field. Rohr took Osimhen to the training field and was impressed with what he saw. The training field is the best frontier for selection. That means Oshimhen was invited because of his form in training some 8 months ago. How you're making a fist of this arguement beggars belief. But I'm not surprised, your antecedent and disdane for game time is well documented. I'd be crazy to expect anything less from you. |

Rohr identified Osimhen as a special talent, carried him to camp and was pleased with what he saw. He decided to call the guy back to camp. I wonder how you think Rohr displeasing his instincts and understanding to favor your question marks. What matters is that the coach believes the young man and he is pursuing his belief.
When you take a young player to camp and get convinced he is quality, then tell me you will drop the player because of question marks. In other words you agree that Osimhen is Rohr's personal favourite who haven't done anything in the season to justify his call other than a first impression? Am I right? |

TheGoodJoe: Please read carefully before typing anyhow. I said, identifying special talents is not by tournament highest goal scorer alone. If Osimhen had scored 2goals in Chile will you consider him special talent who should get an invite to the senior national team even without kicking a ball for his club? Serious question. |

TheGoodJoe: When we are talking Identified as a special talent, we are not talking of tournament honors alone. I said within minutes, Amunike identified Osimhen as special. Such Identity is not tournament goal scorer. Comprende? What do mean he wasn't considered special talent by being tournament highest goal scorer? What was expected of a special talent if not such achievement? You want him to be considered a special talent in eating okro soup? Like I said, there will always be question marks around his continued invite until he starts delivering for his club. Till then (?) |

I repeat, Sinama had a terrible injury. Souleyman, I did not hear of top clubs fighting for him like Osimhen. Remember, Osimhen turned down Arsenal.
Special talents do not easily get swept away by time. Ask Mikel. Hahaha... You think a kid who equalled a tournament record of 9 goals in just 4 games wasn't considered something "special"? |

A lot will happen how? Football is not like that. From Iheanacho's U17 till now, he is still the poster boy. A coach sighting him as a promising talent will not be mislead believing he is still good today.
I started watching Thiago Alcantara at 15. He is still an asset today.
Rohr identifying Osimhen as a special talent most ago will not change in few months. Na wa.
O ye Babylonian, calm down. Alot have indeed happened since last year. The world didn't stand still and wait for Osimhen to kick start his professional career. Lots of Nigerians home and abroad have been up and doing in their footballing careers. People have won Mvp in their respective leagues. Some have emerged top scorers in their base. Opabunmi used to be the poster boy for the 2001 U17s what later happened? Emmanuel Sanni used to be the Mvp, top scorer and poster boy for the 09 U17s, what later happened? Being poster boy for a youth team doesn't mean anything. Sinama Pogolle and SOULEYMANE nko? What have they gained since they were the poster boys of their countries at the fifa U17s? for your info, SOULEYMANE was highly rated in 2011 just like Osimhen, if not higher. How have being poster boy guaranteed his success in the sport? |

Rohr was the first person to invite Kayode. And he has invited him twice more. Those invites haven't been coming on a platter of gold. Kayode have had to work twice as hard as anyone to get any form of attention. Speaking to LIB, he said: 'For a long time now, I have not been invited to the National Team, maybe due to politics' "But I know very soon, Coach Rohr would look in my direction because my position remains vacant. I'm ready to score for Nigeria, I am ready to score for Rohr but all can come through only if I am invited. Some people said I play in a far league, some said I play in the cold, some said I play in Austria and Austria is not English premier league , but I will tell you, football in La-Liga is the same in Austria. I played in the Europa league last season, so what experience do i need again, I have represented Nigeria at youth levels and my mates like Onazi , and Omeruo are the ones playing currently for now.'' cc:Linda ikeji 03/2017 |

Mujtahida: See Kante fa? Fabregas complained one time. Even Eric Contona has a video on YouTube where he complained about this. Is it that the 10's slow down the game or what is the reason for them being shoved out? No wonder music is gone out of football. Maestro means the grand conductor of the orchestra and so were the great 10's- pure musicians hitting the right chords with their footwork and mobile poetry. Once Messi(the last glimmer of light on the football skies) hangs boot that might be the end of an era. Do you like watching old football? I do oo. Athletism is more appreciated these days than ball work. Midfield players these days are judged on Km covered, tackles won, ariel duels won and passes completed. That's is why you have more athletic midfielders these days whose stock in trade is back passes and sideways passes just to rack up their numbers on the data sheet. I watch anything when am in a good mood. Be it old football games or under 7s playing football in the neighbourhood field. |
