I took the GRE recently and got the 328 score (Q:165, V:163)
At the start of my prep I gathered all the materials that I need. I never made myself get confused with all different kinds of materials that are available in the market. Following the right course that I can afford and maintaining the discipline that I feel is needed to achieve anything.

Coming to the preparation I'm somewhat good at math . So I decided to focus more on the verbal mostly on the vocabulary. I decided to spend one and a half minute to solve MCQ's and a maximum of 3 minutes for numerical entry questions as they require an analytical approach.

I took up galvanize test prep for my prep as they a unique strategy making me ready for the exam with a course manager assisting me till my exam. This suits me.

Pick the right one by following the reviews. The practice tests are also good as well.
Don't worry if you aren't ready to spend money for these. There are many free things out there.

I've some questions concerning subject (mathematics) based test and I'll really appreciate if anyone can explain the process

1. When registering for GRE, is the subject test registration different from the main one?

2. If yes, what's the total cost?

3. I'm aware that GRE is tasking. Considering the subject based test, will the test be in a day?

GRE subject mathematics is totally different from GRE subject test. It is more peculiar for applicants having eyes on specialised programs like PhD Mathematics, PhD Statistics and some mathematical intensed programs like Quant Finance, Maths Finance, Operations Research et cetera.


Having said this, most programs don't mandate this specialise exam for their prospective applicants, they carefully specify this on their websites, although a good score can be an added advantage if their is any deficient in one's college grades. An exception is the la creme de la creme universities owning to degree that their admission exercises are extremely competitive.

The overarching view of admission procedures depend solely on one's profile as overly stated by the gurus here.

So, will there be need for you to have the test score? Such onus lies on you.

Is it hard? Ofcourse YES! Only you can answer to what degree it is. I also presume you had a degree in Mathematics.

The fee is around $150 last I checked.

Irrespective of who you register with, on the test day, send your scores to that institution using that code. If you do not do it at that moment, you will have to pay $27 to do it later.

please, what if the test scores are not going to be dole out for that academic year cycle. Will it still suffice whenever one is ready?
