DexterousOne: Everyone’s eyes is open already to the bad oga. What is telling us everyday about more bad going to do for us? Who here doesn’t know how things are in Nigeria? What we don’t want are skewing of facts in comparisms to other countries. That is what many people here were talking about. Not that Nigeria is paradise. 5 Likes |

DexterousOne: You claim to acknowledge the negativity, and want to ignore the positivity others see and feel. That is not how life is supposed to be. If there was no optimism about the future for things to change, Martin Luther and co wouldn’t have done anything. We know there is negative. We don hear. Thank you for reminding us something we already know. I will applaud those who still see positive things and wins and who are striving to make things better in their own little way. That is all that matters. 4 Likes |

ultron12345: Nigeria vexes me a lot, but I had the privilege of going to a federal secondary school and university at very affordable rates. Paid 10K for school fees in Unilag. Affordable hospital bills too. Are these systems perfect? No! They are not, but these systems are here because of the sacrifices of some in the past. Instead of my mates to pay it forward, all we do is conveniently complain via social media about how horrible the country is. Even those who got scholarships to the overseas via those schools above. They didn’t pay anything forward. Did nothing. Just yap, yap and more yappity yap. If a father and mother don’t provide enough, shouldn’t the kids help by doing chores? Cooking etc or at least it helping with parents business? Nigerians bask themselves in Negativity and excuses and expect miracles. Imagine many of we young peeps growing up to age 50 and still complaining about how bad the country is. Meanwhile, we would have forgotten that it is us that were ruling, and had 20 years to play a our part we never did play. A cycle of Negativity and e go better. 12 Likes 1 Share |

DexterousOne: Nope. Wrong statement. It is meant to be “instead of people to contribute their own quota to help, they are busy complaining”. I am tired of all this negativity about Nigeria. What do Nigerians actually do for the Nigeria they complain about? Also, that things are bad doesn’t mean people shouldn’t promote or talk about the good things. 8 Likes |

Let us be frank with ourselves, if people like Martin Luther King and Malcom X had not made sacrifices and do what had to be done. Would blacks be happily going to the abroad? All Nigerians do is complain, complain and complain. Like we are not inherently part of the problem. There are government duties, I agree... but there are also duties for the citizens. The citizens have failed like the government they complain about. 16 Likes 1 Share |

webizone: Because people actually make money in the long and short term. Even if their short term Jijo doesn’t workout, long term could. The stock market does not have a fixed cap, economy gets better? Businesses making a killing? We are all happy no matter what. Bear market to make prices drop? Still no bother, we end up making 20-30 % dividend yields, that could translate to higher yields in the future depending on how well the business does. With the entry price points of some people, many are probably collecting up to 100% dividend yields. Apart from the occasional FA vs TA argument or Bear vs Bull market argument, we are a happy family here kind off and you are welcome to join us. Caveat - some people still lose money (not me though, paid all my school fees in the crypto market). 12 Likes 1 Share |

delawal: I understand you and Sir “Barrytone” very well. People are missing the major point which he is making. And it’s funny because we are in an investment forum, the same forum that preaches what sir Barrytone is saying. Going to Lagos and the cities seems like the logical thing to do, but is it? He just basically explained the principles involving more opportunities based on him being a champion there. People are still not getting it. Many don’t know this, but there are many foreigners mining gold and other stuffs in our villages making a killing why “we” run to Lagos and overseas. It is sad. Pa Emma, and sir Ukay and the rest of the investment gang I am very sure won’t buy a stock everyone is talking about and keeps rising everyday beyond it’s intrinsic value. They will want to buy more stocks in “bonanza” period, a time when people are scared and running away from the stock market. Many want to move from Villages to Lagos and many from Lagos to overseas/Canada. I am beginning to think the bonanza might be in the villages, many just don’t know it yet. 9 Likes |

niyogeol: AWS solutions architect Microsoft professional certifications Google cloud architect etc CISA, CISSP, CISM route - can be helpful too. OSCP Some of these are quite good, my advice will be learn the practical aspect of it and do small projects by yourself, create a website with the small projects. Have a networking lab at home (even if it’s just your laptop with many VM’s) learn something as basic as making VPN’s using VPS, learn about cloud, host a site on an old android phone or raspberry pi, learn the 7 networking layers religiously, take advantage of free tier AWS VPs hosting and attend their webinars to get free 25 USD credits get the certificate of attendance... join Cybersecurity learning platforms like Cybrary (Could help career wise too), learn the legal intricacies of IT security and all those ISO stuff... If you immerse yourself, and have one or 2 of this certifications you can have a better chance and even begin to understand more. The problem is there are no entry level Cybersecurity roles so you have to create that experience for yourself as you get some certifications. I like AWS certifications, because you can use the free credits to do some practicals on their VPS... So many other stuffs I cannot remember for now. 11 Likes 4 Shares |

niyogeol: Data science and Cybersecurity have some form of coding in them. These fields especially Cybersecurity are quite large in scope. From IT audit to IT controls to Penetration testing, cryptography, SOC, network security, sys admin, security architect and many more. People don’t know but it’s not all of these branches that require coding. Some of them like SOC, IT compliance and legal etc... 2 Likes 1 Share |

ebuka1997: Bill Ackman tried to short an MLM company called “HerbaLife”, he lost close to 1 billion USD. Doesn’t mean he was wrong to try. The thing to remember though is that the stock market can stay wrong longer than you can stay solvent. So shorting Tesla will most probably be foolish, but I can’t base my investment analogy on the idea that people will keep pushing the price up because of future prospects. Just look at something as speculative as “Bitc01n”. Same problem. Sometimes short-sellers made wins on Tesla and other times they lost and now they are loosing badly, but let me just say this, when I remember how people bought and made shares of the company called “Hertz” that was bankrupt and had negative shareholder equity, to rise up to the extent that the company were like gee... why don’t we make more shares, and sell to these retail investors so we pay people we owe (their bond was trading at 40 cents on the dollar, that’s how bad things were)... if that kind of thing could happen in this market, I can certainly see in the future that this rally will end in tears... And there is a high probability that for those who bought “Tesla” at over 500 USD, it will most definitely end in very painful tears. 1 Like |

Northeastern: We will all be here na. It is far easier to hold Tesla than for me to short-sell it because of the losses I will incur based on the said people I mentioned, people who hold Tesla? Can you mention them let us hear and show us their other financial investment success? There is a proven fact, and it’s that people who ignore basic accounting principles pay dearly for it. At least those left holding the Kaya. You say growth stock? What is Apple and Co? Last I checked Apple had a dividend yield of like 1%, with a P/E ratio of 28. Which profit are we even talking about sef? Lol. What will the profit do for the accumulated issues in the financial statement? |

Justcul: Tesla is still a company that has debt and can fail if push comes to shove. There is a reason Warren Buffet is still there and people like “Masayoshi Son“ of Soft Bank is now seen as a pariah. Why? Look at his recent calls especially the problems with WeWork. Ignore basic accounting principles at your own peril. Tesla has a P/E ratio of over 7,000 at it’s current price. I don’t need to talk about anything else... Apple has a P/E ratio of 28. Also majority who invest in Tesla, many of them invest in crypt0 too, majorly retail investors who are geeks and like cool things and to them an Electric car is a cool thing, but the accounting of it is not. I like Elon Musk, but Tesla stock has a high chance of ending in tears for many. 4 Likes |
