They present the stock to you at a 10% marked-up price so it could get filled. I still don't understand the rationale behind that but that is not applicable to global stocks. Imagine buying 1 million units of a stock that my broker's app already marked-up by 10% when I could buy the same share intraday at 10% marked-down price.

As an investor, the entry price is key. It's not just about good fundamentals.

DISCLAIMER: I haven't used the platform to buy a local stock before, this comment is basically from other users' feedback/reviews.

Wow! Thanks for this info. Truly important info. grin

Please, don't trade on NSE via Chaka except you only buy ''Afolabi units''. Open an account with one of the conventional stockbrokers(e.g Morgan Capital - www.morgancapitalgroup.com) and use Chaka strictly for global stocks.

Why do you say so? Are they slow or something?

Entrepreneurs would be entrepreneurs while some people are designed for corporate world.
Although some later become entrepreneurs by stealing ideas and contacts in their time in the corporate world, others are daring enough to go straight into business after formal education and they do succeed, infact most times they are the most succesful.
If you have been in good business, you will understand what I am saying.

The problem with your list is ignoring the fact that they all at least were eating. i.e making money from somewhere or someone giving it to them.

Wonder why you didn’t add Warren Buffet and other people who did otherwise (actually earned salaries then started business) in that list.

Life is not a 0 or 1 approach, there are a lot of infinite decimal places between 0 and 1.

I don't know if this is possible but it's what i'm gunning for. I started visiting this thread when i was 16 years.

Now, i am 23. I earn above XX salary. I invest 250K monthly in Digital agriculture and then 100K in bitcoin. My goal is get within 25% -35% returns for 17 years.
I know digital agriculture is risky but i try to invest in the safest of them all.

My risk appetite is much bigger than most of the elders here.

But i'm hoping to retire by 40 years so i can focus on learning and teaching.

I use this tool for my compound interest calculations:
https://www.investor.gov/financial-tools-calculators/calculators/compound-interest-calculator

Digital agriculture and Bitcoin?

Why do people like to lose their money?

Anyone who has been into practical agriculture in Nigeria will know tha the returns they are promising are not realistic and not sustainable.

As for forex, if he can trade himself, good but if it is about giving money to some group of people claiming to be experts in forex trading, I will say no.

This is unacceptable. Some Corporate organisations are now in the habit of ignoring their clients calls and emails. In this same thread, someone also complained against another organisation ignoring the calls and emails. I have the firsthand experience with FBNquest as they hardly respond to my calls and emails. I have investment with them, i dont even know the balance, they will not send account balance or give me online access to my account after my request of over 8 months. I have made up my mind to close my account with them.
Let's continue to demand for better service from this firms comparable to what is obtainable in other places.

It’s not only them. Suffered through this with GT Bank, Standard Chattered Bank too.

For the FBN Quest, get their app. It will save you a lot of headaches.

The concept of liquidity is almost the same as the concept of price. You don’t know how many people “will” buy and sell. You might know people who want to, but “want“ is not the same as “happened”.

I want to eat grilled Croaker fish and wash it down with ACB does not mean it will happen. There are so many possibilities on what can happen from there on. I might end up with sardine and cold garri. That is life.

We can't change the perception of some persons. ...we can only respect their views. wink cheesy grin

It is well.

OGG if you were so sure of your claims you wouldn’t have started with the GSK and FIDSON comparism which was flawed in the first place and you wouldn’t have used the term “sentimental analysis”.

Oracle has come and you think his analysis will save you? It is still flawed, because you are assuming you know that majority will quickly want to sell into the next price to get out. Nobody knows this. Flawed Logic.

I thought a little about it, it will move only if there is a general consensus, that is, majority of the players in the market at that time should agree to higher price point or else it will drop back in the next few bids. undecided

The concept of pricing is complex. Can’t look at it that way, because you can’t predict buyers or sellers or people in the market. So then what if people don’t want to sell at that particular price but higher?

You are assuming many people will quickly want to sell at the next increase to crash down price to what it formerly was. This assumption is flawed and not looking at the mass psychology of how humans think and act.

Story story!

Most companies in the US used debt to fund share buyback. And that was why Fed is warning that bailout or rescue package money should not be used for buybacks.

If I expect that my revenue will drop and that in turn will affect PAT, I will just buyback as many shares as possible. So that once PAT is released and it is declining compared to the previous quarter/period, the EPS calculations will still give you a higher EPS compared to the previous quarter/period.

Many US banks did it.

“Expect”, meaning they do this before results are announced? don’t think it’s as straightforward as this. This has some mechanisms of insider trading and illegal conundrums, the SEC will knock at doors.

You can buy Zenith at N100. N100 is 26 dollar cents o. I hope you are aware.

If JP Morgan wants to merge with Zenith in a bid to expand into Africa, what do you think the cost of Zenith will be? grin grin

Not when GT is trading at a ridiculous trailing price.

And this comparison will be wrong. It won’t be them choosing zenith it will be them trying to choose a bank in Nigeria.

The news was never “Neimeth” has cured Covid.

You can't move market that way. It depends on the news driving the market at that point in time. If the news is bullish, participants will buy up the stocks. Covid19 is causing a rush into health companies. This is a positive news for that sector.

Try and move universal insurance. You will see those that have been trapped for 10 years that want to exit. grin grin

So how much would it take to move Neimeth?

How about 100K units of Fidelity bank? Just N175,000.

The main thing is that once the block volume is achieved, price changes.

Nope! The main thing is that the block volume x price tells a story.
