You have not answered my question on how you will turn N4 billion to N40 billion and how long it will take you to do this.

You can't compare the type of returns on thousand of Naira investments to billion of Naira investments

Easily turning 100k to N1 million than to turn N1 billion to N10 billion

This is the thing. Same predicament Buffet is facing right now.

Same problem between WeWork and SoftBank.

I will advise him to look at the worth of many companies on the NSE to understand, let him also do a calculation on return on total assets. He will see the reality.

...abeg leave @ GonFreecss1.
Lets just agree to his view. ...NEIMETH is a P & D coy. grin grin grin

He is RIGHT !!

And it was never about being right. It’s about learning for myself, you and others especially the newbies watching. The way you have been quite defensive about it from last week till now is worrisome.

First the GSK and FIDSON, then unto sentimental analysis. All this cannot still say anything about why NEIMETH.

I don’t want to believe anyone here will buy a liquid ZenithBank at 100 naira at the same fundamentals as now because Zenith is ready to sell face masks or something.

Not to talk of an illiquid asset, that a couple of thousands will move down or up.

If you like do all the Jacobian transformations or Laplace transformations you know. It doesn’t change what it is.

Same 100K block volume that moves other stocks like Nestle.

Lool! Thank you sir!

100,000 blocks of Nestle is what again? Over a 100 million naira...

100,000 blocks of Neimeth is what again? How many people here can “Key” into this without being a greater fool? grin

Yep. The current rise. Let him multiply units sold by the value in naira and tell us.

I still stand by the fact that it is pump and dump.

Now that Mr NEIMETH has restarted its full bid move, nobody is talking again. The stock has been on full bid for 4 days delivering maximum day to day gains.
...yet NO one is calling it Mr P & D anymore. wink cheesy grin

Well, those who headed the call above and re-entered below the lower price band should be smiling on 40% return by now.(see 1st post above)
The 2nd post above was a buy signal for those who understood the "not a bad thing" part of the statement. ...at the time the coy dropped below the 1.40 lower band to 1.20+. ...which was a juicy entry peg for those wishing to join in a 2nd rise.

Those in should take up their reward as it suits them.(considering their personality, investment horizon and goal)

It is well.

And how much is currently moving the price?

Why not tell us that first.

Take a non interest loan from a friend equivalent of the value you will realise by selling .

Promise yourself to sell this stock by March next year and whatever you realise, you will peacefully hand over to your friend.

Security at Rise
Rise uses state of the art, PCI-DSS compliant, bank grade security and two factor authentication to protect your accounts. That’s better than your bank. We are SEC registered investment advisers in the US and your funds are overseen by our partners who are also registered with the Nigerian Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) so you know that your funds are safe and regulated at the highest standard of compliance.

Secondly, PCI-DSS won’t help you if someone does the same social engineering he does with your bank account on you.

Thirdly, SEC registered advisers is not the same as the funds are regulated by the SEC. The partners registered with the NSE and SEC in Nigeria doesn’t mean those funds are regulated by those 2 bodies.

I am wary of companies who use marketing gimmicks to obscure the truth.

Oga it depends. There is a property around Shomolu valued @ N15 million with rentals of N6 million.

My point is if a business is generating lots of income no need selling.

Then the methodology used in valuing that property is wrong or the person who is renting the apartment is definitely suspicious.

That is a 40% yield right there. Meaning another of that property can be built in 2.5 years. The total return from a property to get your capital back should normally be 10 years. That right there... the mathematics doesn’t add up. At all.

How much did GTB sell the defunct GT Assurance now Axa Mansard and how much are they going to buy the pension business of Axa Mansard

This is interesting. Will they also try to get Investment One? grin

Regarding the yen vs usd comparison, I think that exchange rate alone does not measure wellbeing of the economy.

You also need to factor average earnings of the citizens of that country. A cleaner in Japan can buy a new Toyota sedan after saving seriously for 3 to 4 years, same in the USA.

A cleaner in Nigeria cant do that in the next 15 years.

We are not even talking about the economy. Lol.

Just the “currency”. Currency is not just the value relative to another currency. The actual amount in circulation matters a lot. Just like how shares outstanding matters for stock.

Never have I heard someone say “Nestle” has more value or is more expensive than “Dangote Cement” because of it’s price. And say “Nominal price”. Who actually does that?

Can it exchange for more? Yes! But that’s just about it.
Investment / Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by GonFreecss1: 9:23pm On Jun 24, 2020

In the basket of 8
JPY is the weakest (nominally)

The USD, EUR, GBP CHF CAD AUD and the last one ALL exchange more than the JPY

I have been trying to say this

They are not reading to get me grin grin

You can use the words “exchange more for” not “weak”

A government devaluing a currency that has more 000’s in circulation doesn’t make it weak relative to another it’s actually stronger than.

The Ghanian currency might exchange for more naira doesn’t make it “weak”.

Nestle exchanging for more Dangote doesn’t make Dangote with lesser value.

And if you still don’t get it, take a look at the arrangement of “crypt0” on coin market cap.

Don’t use “Nominal value” to cover your blunder.

Exchanging for more doesn’t mean weaker.

It may also interest you to know that they found the true value of the yen to usd in 1986 undecided
Why would you devalue when you have everything going on great for you and no pressures or expenditures to preserve your currency?

But you also said this some threads ago.

Maybe I really do not get it and I am not ashamed to ask,
1) What parameters was used by you in saying Jpy is one of the weakest in the world?
2) What are the first 5 based on (1) and last (5)
3) Where does a Country like Lebanon stand in this regards?

JPY is the 4th strongest in the world.

Lol! He doesn’t understand what he is saying. The fact that he said JPY was weak, I corrected him, he came back and said JPY “used” to be weak...

Shows he doesn’t understand what he is saying. Theconglomerate has not said anything to validate his point about “JPY” being weak.

Strength of a currency is not measured like that. If it was like that, CNY won’t be among the top.

The equation is not X = 2Y.

The question is, is (x1 + x2 + x3 +.....) = 2(y1 + y2 + y3 +....) ?

I'm talking of people from across sectors SEEKING VC funding

The demand side

Not necessarily the supply side

It's not common to hear people seek funding for their business via that channel in Nigeria

Its restricted to certain spaces

But from what I saw in Ghana

Start ups first point of call is always VC funding/angel investor

While for many in Nigeria

The first thing that comes to their mind when seeking funding is loan

The culture of seeking VC funding across board is not exactly the norm here

That is the fault of the people asking for loan. I have friends with startups who got funding. Here in Nigeria. Get that good business plan, at least start some operations in it, you will get your funding.

And it doesn’t have to be “tech”.

When it comes to venture capital, South Africa may be the only company above Nigeria in Africa.

How many Nigerian (versus Ghanaian companies) are on YC? How many are on 500startups?

How many $1bn dollar startups are in Nigeria (vs Ghana)?

When it comes to venture capital, I will pick Kenya over Ghana and Nigeria is still far well above Kenya.

The folks that did seed investment in Andela, Paystack, Flutterwave, Kobo360 are already on 1000%. Even 54gene that was started not long ago, people have cashed out.

When it comes to venture capital, Ghana is like ant where Nigeria they. Let's stop feeding people half baked emotional data on a faceless forum bros.

That is why sometimes arguments like this in an enlightened way are good, it helps everyone to put things in perspective.
Unfortunately though, Nigeria has a lot of potentials that it is not harnessing.

Exactly. Nigeria is bad. I agree.

It has nothing to do with the question Pa Emma asked.

This is how we learn. If we had the Nigerian CFA equivalent, they can ask something like this and many people will fumble, because of what they think and not the actual economics of it.
Investment / Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by GonFreecss1: 6:02pm On Jun 24, 2020

To put it in perspective:

13 years ago, C10,000 = $1, using mathematical formula, it was recalculated to get C1 = $1
Now (2020) C5.8 = $1, which true value C58,000 = $1
That is an increase of 480%

Compare that with Nigeria:
13 years ago, NGR120 = $1
Now (2020) NGR420 = $1
which is an increase of 250%

You understand very well. Good!

It is o

That's why they price things in USD there

Well a good number of things

What has been saving naira has been the defence the CBN has been doing to prop naira over a couple of years now

If we let naira float (not managed float o, free float)

I'm afraid naira may even slide to N600 in my opinion

Or maybe N550

Won’t still be as bad theirs. Our 500 to 600 naira is better than their 5c to 6c.
