emmanuelewumi: This is the thing. Same predicament Buffet is facing right now. Same problem between WeWork and SoftBank. I will advise him to look at the worth of many companies on the NSE to understand, let him also do a calculation on return on total assets. He will see the reality. |

onegentleguy: And it was never about being right. It’s about learning for myself, you and others especially the newbies watching. The way you have been quite defensive about it from last week till now is worrisome. First the GSK and FIDSON, then unto sentimental analysis. All this cannot still say anything about why NEIMETH. 3 Likes |

I don’t want to believe anyone here will buy a liquid ZenithBank at 100 naira at the same fundamentals as now because Zenith is ready to sell face masks or something. Not to talk of an illiquid asset, that a couple of thousands will move down or up. If you like do all the Jacobian transformations or Laplace transformations you know. It doesn’t change what it is. 3 Likes |

RabbiDoracle: Lool! Thank you sir! 100,000 blocks of Nestle is what again? Over a 100 million naira... 100,000 blocks of Neimeth is what again? How many people here can “Key” into this without being a greater fool? |

ositadima1: Yep. The current rise. Let him multiply units sold by the value in naira and tell us. I still stand by the fact that it is pump and dump. |

CuteRedd: Secondly, PCI-DSS won’t help you if someone does the same social engineering he does with your bank account on you. Thirdly, SEC registered advisers is not the same as the funds are regulated by the SEC. The partners registered with the NSE and SEC in Nigeria doesn’t mean those funds are regulated by those 2 bodies. I am wary of companies who use marketing gimmicks to obscure the truth. 7 Likes 1 Share |

OBAGADAFFI: Then the methodology used in valuing that property is wrong or the person who is renting the apartment is definitely suspicious. That is a 40% yield right there. Meaning another of that property can be built in 2.5 years. The total return from a property to get your capital back should normally be 10 years. That right there... the mathematics doesn’t add up. At all. 2 Likes |

Investment / Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by GonFreecss1: 9:27pm On Jun 24, 2020 |
ositadima1: We are not even talking about the economy. Lol. Just the “currency”. Currency is not just the value relative to another currency. The actual amount in circulation matters a lot. Just like how shares outstanding matters for stock. Never have I heard someone say “Nestle” has more value or is more expensive than “Dangote Cement” because of it’s price. And say “Nominal price”. Who actually does that? Can it exchange for more? Yes! But that’s just about it. |
Investment / Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by GonFreecss1: 9:23pm On Jun 24, 2020 |
DexterousOne: You can use the words “exchange more for” not “weak” A government devaluing a currency that has more 000’s in circulation doesn’t make it weak relative to another it’s actually stronger than. The Ghanian currency might exchange for more naira doesn’t make it “weak”. Nestle exchanging for more Dangote doesn’t make Dangote with lesser value. And if you still don’t get it, take a look at the arrangement of “crypt0” on coin market cap. Don’t use “Nominal value” to cover your blunder. Exchanging for more doesn’t mean weaker. 1 Like |

Theconglomerate: But you also said this some threads ago. “It is weak nominally because the japanese keep devaluing it so that una go come buy their market na cheesy Something you all refuse.“ |
Investment / Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by GonFreecss1: 6:42pm On Jun 24, 2020 |
ojesymsym: JPY is the 4th strongest in the world. Lol! He doesn’t understand what he is saying. The fact that he said JPY was weak, I corrected him, he came back and said JPY “used” to be weak... Shows he doesn’t understand what he is saying. Theconglomerate has not said anything to validate his point about “JPY” being weak. Strength of a currency is not measured like that. If it was like that, CNY won’t be among the top. The equation is not X = 2Y. The question is, is (x1 + x2 + x3 +.....) = 2(y1 + y2 + y3 +....) ? 2 Likes |

DexterousOne: That is the fault of the people asking for loan. I have friends with startups who got funding. Here in Nigeria. Get that good business plan, at least start some operations in it, you will get your funding. And it doesn’t have to be “tech”. |

ojesymsym: Exactly. Nigeria is bad. I agree. It has nothing to do with the question Pa Emma asked. This is how we learn. If we had the Nigerian CFA equivalent, they can ask something like this and many people will fumble, because of what they think and not the actual economics of it. |
