when they did not remove this things you mentioned, was your standard of living any better? Hold your state leader accountable.
Politics / Re: Is Tinubu Government Prioritize IGR Over Nigerians Lives? by Good2go1: 2:14pm On May 05
I never mentioned State allocation, I am talking about things that has direct impact on people welfare. State government didn't remove subside, state government didn't float naira against dollars and they didn't increase electricity tarrif, these are the things that caused the inflation in Economy and eroded the purchasing power of the common man.
obawinner:

Eight months ago, Federal government not Tinubu doubled the allocation to your state and local governments so they equip and cater for your resources.

1.Have you asked and hold your state government responsible?

2.Do you even know your local government chairman?

3.Have you asked the senator representing your constituency what support he has done to improve who he represents?

4.Do you know who represent you in the house of Representatives?

The earlier you know this channels concerns you the most the earlier you receive the dividends of democracy.

Though I agree that Tinubu is a disaster but we should blame any tribe for it rather as citizens who are victims of bad leaders should come take and vote right in next election
grandstar:

If you knew the delegates the presidential candidate through the primaries, why collectively blame all Yoruba's?

If Osinbajo's name was on the ballot box, I am sure Yoruba's would be more eagerly vote for him than Tinubu. I also know many igbos would vote for him as well.

Your focus to collectively blame all Yoruba is prejudicial.

He wasn't on the ballot box.
Politics / Is Tinubu Government Prioritize IGR Over Nigerians Lives? by Good2go1: 1:19pm On May 05
Since Tinubu assumed office he removed Fuel subside, Floats Naira against dollars, increased electricity tarrif and increased school fees for tertiary schools, all these increased the burden of the common man. This prompted me to ask, what is the primary purpose of government? Is Tinubu administration on the right course?
Politics / Re: Some Nairaland Mods Are Tribalists by Good2go1: 7:33pm On May 04
Lie from pit of hell, Yoruba I don't care about they state of origin but take anywhere they are as their hometown. I have many Yoruba friends that are from Abeokuta Base in Lagos but have never visited their hometown in Abeokuta since they were born
Slytiger:

Because that's not true..it likely got deleted for rule 8 i.e. posting false information on Nairaland. I have never met a Yoruba man that's from Ilesha or Abeokuta or Oshogbo claiming Lagos. Yorubas are naturally proud of their own hometowns and agbole.

However, don't get it twisted OP. Every Yoruba would also fight and defend every inch of their ancestral land (the entire SW region). E.g. The Yoruba man (Awolowo) that fought most for Lagos is not even from Lagos. Awolowo is an Ijebu man from present day Ogun state.

All this paid propaganda will not help this administration. I listen to live radio program and 100% of the callers agreed that coastal road should not be a priority now, if there is no ulterior motives.we have East-west road and Beinin Ekpama road in bad condition if this administration truly love south south people as they claim, why not fixed the existing road first let people be using before going for a new project?

Doesn't this seem stupid to you? Buhari defeated Jonathan where did it land the nation to? You must be shameless to write this thrash
Validated:
Some political noise makers and rable rousers have started their noises. They use every news item or opportunity to stroke ethnic and religious sentiments.

Go and verify their past ... most of them are totally irrelevant in the scheme of things.

Go and verify , they attacked Buhari from 2014 to 2023, yet Buhari defeated Jonathan and ruled for 8 solid years. The man they supported lost in every elections.

Fast forward to 2023, they attacked Tinubu and spewed all venomous viles in them. They even followed Tinubu to Chatham House in UK to make noise and carry placards. Inspite of their "Table Shaking", Tinubu is their president.

Now they have faced Peter Obi with their vileness and heart of bile. Again, they are failing and they will fail again.

How will the coastal road brings about new businesses when our posture as a country shows government can wake up and destroy businesses at will in the name of projects no sane investor will invest in the environment of uncertainty. Surely after this project there will always be another projects
CommonSense1967:
He's very shallow for that comment. Obviously, he is shortsighted and can't see the bigger picture.

The coastal road will bring in way more tourism than just one business. Imagine how many coastal businesses will spring up along the whole coast including international standard hotels and other investments.

Angry Reactions As Nigerians Blast Minister After FG Told Citizens To Accept Tariff Hike Or Face Total Blackout
Strong reactions have trailed comments by the Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, that there would be total blackout in the country in the next three months if the proposed electricity tariff hike is not implemented.

Adelabu said this when he appeared before the Senate Committee on Power, which is investigating electricity tariff hike by the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC).

This followed the rejection of the new tariff regime by the Senate committee, led by Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe.

“The entire sector will be grounded if we don’t increase the tariff. With what we have now in the next three months, the entire country will be in darkness if we don’t increase tariffs.

“The increment will catapult us to the next level. We are also Nigerians, we are also feeling the impact,” Adelabu said.

Meanwhile, Nigerians on social media have expressed anger with the minister’s comments.

Writing via Facebook, one Owuru Odun-Itan Emmanuel said: “A govt that derives pleasure in inflicting pains, hardship and suffering upon her citizens.”

Abdulrahman Zubairu: “Tinubu and his ministers are just a disappointment. We have really made a costly mistake in his election. I sincerely hope God give us the wisdom to make amends in the near future.”

Oyeyemi Olugbami: “And this one want to govern my State! Why must the price of everything increase under this Government. No mercy for the masses at all!!”

Ahmad Shehu: “We’re tired of hearing of investors since the return of democracy in 1999. Electricity Tariff is always on increased and nothing attracted investors rather than suffering by Nigerians. The whole system is collapse. Nigerians are always in blackout. Ihave never seen the worse power minister like this man.”

Muhammad Nasir Jabaka: “It’s this kind of minister that will make me pray for coup de tat in this country, this government underrated it’s people and their capabilities.”

Tweeting via @mazinwonwu, one Chiagozie Fred Nwonwu: “As I type this, there is no power in my house. A rechargeable standing fan is battling back the stifling heat. Energy bulbs powered by a battery provide luminance. I am so used to the unwieldiness of public power supply that I get worried when it stays on for 24 hours.”

@DengeTyro: “These people don’t care about advancing as a society… or providing people with better living conditions. All they care about is putting more money in their pockets. And as long as society rewards greed, those are the kind of leaders we’ll keep having.”

@mayorz16_: “All I know is that if this man contest in next governorship election in oyo state and any one vote for him, that person no go make am in life again.”

@ometere29: “But we have started paying for light with the new tariff, what is this threat for again. You guys think you won’t lose money too. Clowns.”

@Tee_Classiquem1: “I hope people of Oyo state are taking note of this Adelabu guy, do everything in your power to make sure he doesn’t smell that governorship sit.”

On Instagram, @sd_sammy.kings, wrote: “They haven’t removed this man already?”

@alegrotravels: “Pls Tinubu should sack this fellow. He has no control of his utterances. A public office should manage what he says to the public!”

@joegel 109: “de pity your governorship ambitions oga if u enter na ur room for this Oyo state we de wait u Omo Osan.”

@smab_bint_bakare: This statement is insensitive! Fuel subsidy, gone! Prices of good and services, skyrocketed! And yet still the power supply…. not so good! We are not here to suffer, anyway.”
