When you're fast asleep, they're busy somewhere saving lives. When you're off for leisure, they sacrifice their leisure and family time so that no lives are lost. And they work round the clock just to make medical services available to you. Not to mention the rigorous years of training they underwent back in school.

It's okay to be inquisitive. I prefer black cos if it's taste and it's more oxidized. The theophylline content in it is also a plus.

Preliminary studies in people show that a black tea supplement can boost metabolism and increase blood pressure. Changes in blood pressure can be a concern. However, a small increase may be helpful for people who have dizziness due to low blood pressure when they stand up. It also contains a stimulating substance known as Theophylline which can speed up your heart rate and increase your alertness. That is to say some one with High Blood pressure shouldn't take black tea. And it is more favourable for people with low B.P. However, if you must take your cup of black tea, be warned not to take excess owing to some amount of polyphenol in it. At least a 'once in a while' basis will do the magic of stepping down your sugar level, cholesterol level, prevent kidney stones and Parkinson disease.

I read up on all the amazing benefits of green tea and was intrigued. Some of the merits of drinking green tea include detoxification, appetite suppression which invariably will lead to weight loss, improved heart health and even aids in clearing pimples and acne (I think this is where detox comes in) etc.

This week I rushed and bought a pack of fragrant green tea, with a twist of lime and lemon. Yummy!

And I've been regretting wasting money since then.

I thought this shaitza was supposed to suppress appetite? My God, it is having the opposite effect on me. I've been drinking this stuff since Tuesday and the kind of hunger I've been experiencing is baffling. It is strange and unusual.

When I drink it, I experience temporary nausea, and when it passes, THE HUNGER takes over. After eating, I become hungry after barely two hours. Today I was weeping inside me because I felt the kind of hunger refugees in wartorn countries must be feeling. Right now I'm hungry again

This is not normal because all those I've spoken to tell me green tea suppresses their appetite.

Doctors in the house, can you give me insight why my own case is different?

First of all I want to let you know that Green tea is a herbal product that functions by increasing anti oxidant activities in the body. And since you just complained about these side effects, it means you're reacting to the substances in the tea like Caffeine and polyphenol which have been known to induce nausea. However you can still safely take your green tea by taking note of the caffeine level (high levelling is bad) and add little milk in it before drinking, inorder to soothe the stomach acid which causes hunger. Or you take it alongside your meals.
