Giyerte:When was the last time you lost a bet using this your strategy? How sure and safe is it in percentage terms? I will be happy to see "sure" daily returns even if it's as small as 1.2 odds. |
Sports betting will wreck you if you're not careful. Yesterday, I lost a small fortune - no thanks to Japan and Holland. It's just ridiculous. |
LastProphet:I had a very unpleasant experience with the man in question. I believe he is the bespectacled, fat, pompous, and unbearably rude character. He never gave me the opportunity to settle down and answer questions. I had hardly entered the room before he started to antagonise me with so much bile and malice. The second guy on the panel was very pleasant, patient, and empathetic and it seemed he was wiling to give you the chance to prove yourself, while the lady seemed indifferent. However, the fat and pompous guy was apparently the head of the interview panel and he clearly had an agenda to execute. I had to restrain myself from insulting him towards the end when he unilaterally declared that the interview was over, even though I was still engaged in an interesting discussion with the second guy. Mr. Fat and pompous guy at Restral is easily the most unprofessional and uncouth interviewer I have ever encountered. |
Yusufi:Amen o. Meanwhile, can you shed some light on the composition of the interview panel - how many interviewers etc.? |
Furrylow:Thanks my brother. That's a manageable number. May God help us; been out in the cold for too long. |
Does anyone know how many candidates were invited by Restral for the NERC HQ interview - for each position as well as the total jumber of invitees? It would be nice to fancy one's chances. |
Newswatch Times also gathered that scores of newly recruited staff who were employed into the service since January were yet to be paid either their salaries or their allowances for the first 28 days in office. They were recruited during former Minister, Ambassador Olugbenga Ashiru’s stay in office. That is what happens when too many people get illegally employed through one oga or madam's influence. Maybe they all came in through Ambassador Ashiru or his aides when he was in charge (without the ordeal of aptitude tests or interviews). Now the man is no longer there, so they are now orphans, so to say. |
Congrats bro. I can't wait to share my own testimony too. Been a long time coming. Wish you a fulfilling career ahead. |
Nielbaba:Come on bro. It's not what you think. Was just curious. Congrats again, and best of luck to the rest of us who still searching. |
Congrats o. But I'll like to know the job position you were hired to fill in the company as well as the core competencies required for that role. |
Furrylow:Yeee, è gba mi ooo. I have a reputation for being a 'Doubting Thomas', but this is one claim I will resist any urge to doubt! Meanwhile, is an Assistant Manager in this context equivalent to grade level 9 or 10? |
I beg to disagree on some points, especially as regards including your photo in the CV. I did a lot of research about this before I finally decided that it was a good tactic to include your photo. Just make sure you do it in an artful way, and that the photo looks attractive and professional. However, you might want to avoid this strategy if you are convinced that you look like Mario Balotelli ![]() For more insights on this, simply Google: "Should I put my photo in my CV?" You can then do your own research and decide for yourself. |
In spite of the low salaries being mentioned here (some as low as N50,000 for Level 8.), most Federal Government MDA employees I know live very comfortable lifestyles and they seem more well-off than some private sector guys who earn N500,000 a month. I'm sure something is being left out. Maybe the real action takes place outside the formal/declared salaries. Maybe unannounced bonuses, allowances, and other under the table earnings. |
tq0074u:*Swallows a mouthful of saliva* Oluwa/Chineke/Allah PLEASEEEEEEEE make this happen for your long forsaken son! |
tq0074u:Bros, you seem to know a lot about these things. What about NERC and TETFUND, entry level? By the way, I heard that TETFUND is a fantastic place to work. I need more people to validate that. |
By the way, what about NERC? |
Lilimax:Are you sure this is for entry level, i.e. Level 8? |
Blacksodje:For Officer II (Level 8 )?.Entry Level? Are you sure? |
opuama:I desperately hope that the interviews for Headquarters recruitment would be concluded much sooner. |
yunisco:I can help you by lending you my civil service number. It has been lying fallow since I got it in 2009. Just contact me and I will happily give you the number for onward transmission to the distinguished director, to do the needful. I hope to hear from you soon. |
I received my invitation message yesterday for an interview in Abuja, scheduled for the 17th of November. Yet another Interview; yet another season of high hopes. I pray all goes well this time. |
Has anyone who applied for the position of Analyst, Policy & Strategic Studies - and wrote the test in Abuja - been invited? |
henryhemon:After an unfair and corrupt recruitment process through which incompetent deadwoods are employed (courtesy of connections, quota system, etc), you start running helter skelter to improve staff performance. What a joke. How can clueless employees give what they don't have? Instead of employing competent and qualified people, you employ only those who know senators and traditional rulers. Afterwards, you want them to perform excellently through so-called reform coordination. What is there to reform? Very annoying. |
I subscribed to the Airtel Android plan some weeks ago and at this moment, I have about 2.7 mb of data left. I loaded N2,000 credit earlier today with the aim of re-subscribing to the Android plan when my data runs out. However, I just checked my airtime balance now, and to my HORROR I noticed that it reduced to only N540, which means that Airtel was charging my Internet usage directly to my airtime - bypassing the data in my Android plan!!!! It's not an access point problem, since I have always used the same access point ((internet.airtel.ng.com). What could the problem be? |
My dear you are still in a relatively good situation. You have been in the labour market for only three months, which I do not consider long enough to provoke angst or despondency...... As incredible as it sounds, I intentionally did not make 1st Class because I already knew the implications in a country like Nigeria. It puts too much pressure on you and makes it more humiliating when things don't go your way after graduation. I easily made a 'strong 2.1' even with more than enough social life and extra-curricular activities. In spite of my 2.1, I have not been able to secure the sort of job I have always wanted, and I do not think it would have been any different if I made a 1st Class; probably would have been more humiliating and difficult to bear. Countless times I've done well in aptitude tests and interviews, only to later find out that some barely-literate dolts (with due respect) who can hardly string a decent sentence in English got the jobs through their connections and other back-door means. Sometimes when you interact with the characters that get employed in these great establishments (NCC, NNPC, NERC, Nigerian Breweries, etc), feelings of humiliation and sadness overwhelm you because you know that under normal and fair conditions, they are no match for you. I happen to have a high standard in terms of employment, with a preference for government MDAs or multinational companies. All the small one-man company jobs or bank/marketing jobs that I have come across are just not my kind of thing, so for some time now I have opted for self-employment - earning a decent living by providing niche services with my own knowledge and skills. The income is not bad at all; certainly better than most of these small companies and even banks can pay entry level employees, with plenty freedom and flexibility for that matter. Sometimes I earn up to N100k for a week's work; other times I earn much less or nothing at all during dry spells, but it's all good. I am still looking out for my dream jobs - especially federal government jobs. Unfortunately, class of degree or even competence are rarely considered for these kinds of jobs. You can be a dullard with a pass degree for all they care, as long as you can get one senator or traditional ruler to intervene on your behalf, you will get the job. It's really sad, but there has to be a way somehow, one day. |
Rachii: Pls house kindly assist with you advice: someone who is already working at Dangote as an Engineer level 8 step 4 and get an an appointment with NOSDRA as Engineer level 7 step 1.Errrm, Dangote is really nice o, but personally, I'd go for NOSDRA anytime any day. Good pay, FEDERAL GOVERNMENT (my dream), solid job security, excellent work-life balance, good benefits & perks, pensionable, and so on. What more can a young man ask for? |
Any hope? |
donigspain: NO SIR!!!Yeah, it always ends badly. Had a similar experience some years ago. |
Can anyone help me arrange a short-let self-contained room or BQ in Abuja? Preferrably around Utako, Jabi, or Life Camp around Efab Estate. I need one that can accept rents on a monthly basis. I'm not sure how long I want to stay yet, could be anything between two months to one year, but I want to be paying monthly. Please let me know. Thanks. |
donigspain: I did same thing in 2012. I had gone to PortHarcourt for Job search immediately after graduating in Dec, 2011. I submitted my CV to an oil and ship servicing firm. Some days later one of my contacts informed me that the MD wanted to see me. I thought it was just a casual chat so I went to his office wearing a tight blue jeans trouser, a red T-shirt and sneakers. I bounced along like a young frog.Did you get the job? |
Hmm |
ejiykzazi2007: Hmmmm... U sounded so sure. What's the secret? We will hear from them by next month, exam or interview...Are you 99% sure of that? |
