@Joey82 I read Linguistics in the University of Ibadan. @Olyivy I appreciate your concern. @Gboyega I've been doing that for 3months now. Thank you all! |
I feel that the reason why I haven't had any offer is because of my age. I concluded my service year recently and will be 31yrs soon. Despite being a first class holder from a federal university, it looks almost impossible to get a job. I'm comfortable with my age, that's why I didn't bother reducing it to fit the demands of the labour market but believe me,I'm seriously tempted to do that because every attempt I've made to apply for any job has proved futile. No acknowledging response whatever from the advertising company. Back inschool, I thot that all one needed was an excellent result and the offers will come knocking. But now, I know better. The country isn't interested in value anymore. It is abt the person you know. And if you don't, you just have to keep hunting and praying. That's what I have resorted to. |
Cos they're not meant for just anybody. I thot that was their philosophy ![]() |
aussyroyal: This Ghana must Go prof looks like a clown in that pix, He is the one that needs his head examined. How dare he criticise a country's president that he is not even a citizen of,cheap propaganda! MtchwIf the Ghanaian prof had commended GEJ, believe me, you would have used it as a point for GEJ's administration. You would not have minded that it was said by a foreigner. Pls, let's tell ourselves the truth. GEJ hasn't done well at all; and with his childish and unsound way of handling national issues, I doubt if these 3 remaining years will be anything better. And that scares me shitless! |

Beaf: The airspace wasn't shut down. Its just a very evil rumour started by Buhari and El-Rufai people to make political gain from the tragedy.Thank you for the response but I heard it for the second time today from my younger sis whose friend works with the Hazard Control Unit of the airport. Infact, my younger sis just finished her time wf same unit few weeks ago and I can tell you that this rumour made more sense when it got to me from a reliable source. |
Chocho4real: lord have mercy.... i heard the airspace was shut down as usually when the useless sets of my prominent so called leaders are flying, no airplane fly on air with them.Exactly the reason why I asked the questions that I asked. There's a rumour going round that the plane might have made it to the airport but for the shutting down of the airspace for about 2hrs. So it had to hover in the air to wait for a go-ahead to land. If this is anything close to being the truth, hmmm! |
@OP Pls did you mean that the plane actually was hovering side to side, up and down? And could you remember how long it hovered in the air, from the time you saw it till when it crashed into the building? Thank you. |
Lol!!!!

A very thoughtful thread. Quite educating! A rlly crazy country we're in whr one is no longer sure of anythg. U make a distinction but age bcomes d problem because u r already 30 and d employer wants fresh grads who r not more than 26. If u're not ready to adjust ur age thn u keep searching. Whn u get fed up, u start considering going for a masters. I feel post-nysc wrk experience can't b over-emphasized in naija because dt's wht fetches u dt dream job if u're not connected. D system is wack! |
Black Boy by Richard Wright. Awesome book! It has remained by best. |
@ poppino Ur score comes to 61/100 which gives u some hope of being shortlisted for the post-ume. Cos geography usually gets the lowest cut-off for social science courses in Ui. So gudluck! |
I love Nneka! Just got to knw her songs. So for me, it is Nneka, thn Asa. |
@Bayoooooo Thx! I'm grateful. |
Pls help me check my sis' Reg. No.: 26029902EH. Thx! |
monica deserved it eventhough the standard is gradually going down. her self-composed song was just rubbish, especially with the flat lyrics. yvonne should have been among the 1st four, probably given Ethel's position, at worst; she has a unique voice and attitude to it. i agree with the first three, but Ethel? nayyyyy! she shouldn't have been given anything especially with that annoying song of hers, "tra, nananana, ti, ti, ti, ti, pa!' so annoying! but honestly, some of the members of the faculty should actually be changed. Joke Silva, the first on the list; as a mother figure? yes. but definitely, not as a diction coach. then Ben, i can hardly take him serious. |
i'm seriously beginning to suspect that the president is trying to replace the money he doled out throughout the period of his campaign and his other frivolities. i mean, what else can explain why he is so desperate to have subsidy removed even when he cannot defend it. maybe this explains the reason he said that things would be better but that a period of suffering would have to precede it. that must be the sacrifice he was talking about that Nigerians would have to make. ![]() weeks from now he'll be preaching to us how he was misunderstood; just like he did with the 6-yr single tenure. i hate to say this, but this man's sense of reasoning gives me goose-bumps! jesus! |
As per Oyinbo film, I love the ending of Last Night starring Kiera Knightely, Sam Worthington, Eva Mendes & one guy wey I nor remember hin name. The movie was a bit drab but the ending though not twisted more than makes up for it. Only intelligent folks will grab the relevance of Kiera Knightely's shoes on the floor when she and her husband hugged at the end Cool. . .Brilliant piece of storytelling IMO Cheesy i totally agree with you. really liked Eva in her role. |
so much for all the promises he vomitted during his campaign. i think it has got to the point where whatever this president says becomes a pain in one's nerve. and i don't blame anybody for feeling so. "It is not an easy to fast for a month and having participated in if for the past five years,I know that it takes a lot of sacrifice, commitment, dedication and faith to do that successfully. but i like the fact that he mentioned that he's been there for five so please, people who make excuses for him by arguing that he has only spent a few months there should seriously have a rethink. i personally think GEJ isn't meant for responsibilities beyond the confinement of the home and classroom. he just doesn't fit into a big task as heading a country.(my opinion) i just hope that for the sake of the suffering masses, something good happens |
@ abbey93 you need to put the exact class of C for biology. that way, you'll arrive at the exact result. with what you've given in the other 4 subjects, you have 12+8+12+8 = 40+25.8(JAMB) = 65.8. then add that to whatever you have in biology and arrive at your real score. but you definitely do not have up to 75.8 even with the point for the C added to it. your score would have to be from 70 upwards to stand a chance for Med &Surg. you can only be considered for that with a lower score if and only if the number of candidates needed for that particular department is not realised from the candidates that scored 70 and above. anyway, i wish you all the best! for clarity, the points for the grades are as follow: A1 - 12 B2 - 10 B3 - 8 C4 - 6 C5 - 4 C6 - 2 |
Is GEJ corrupt? Of course he is. But we are not going to discard the truth when he tells it. Why? Because, it is the truth. How I wish he could show half this speed displayed in the arrest of El Rufai in the ordering the arrest of several others who have hindered the growth this nation. Or at least, towards the transformation of this country. Yes, i agree that El Rufai was corrupt and maybe, still is. And that he could have pointed out these facts while he was there (with the ruling group). but one thing is utmost here, has he stated the fact in this article or not? if he has, then, does it not give us an opportunity to know more the extent of the crime that the FG commits in the name of service-to-the-people, which we only get to know when the so-called leaders fall out with one of theirs. if not for anything, we get to have a new reason to bark at them since that's the only way we react in Nigeria when things go wrong. rather we are wasting time on the messenger who already has been hunted down for "whatever" it is that he did. and leaving th real point of the matter. |
@racoome, speak for yourself, pls. Alimosho - voting for BB |
