Five secondary school girls within the age range of 16 to 18 have reportedly raped a Biology teacher [name withheld] to coma in ‎Ayetoro-Itele, a community in Ogun State.

News of the criminal act broke out Thursday morning when the man’s neighbor called the local police after he found the man helpless and near-lifeless in his room.
According the man’s neighbor, five school-age girls reportedly walked into the man’s room, a one room apartment, where the man teacher was recovering from undisclosed ailment.
The student, who were on mufti to hide their school identity, did not waste time to get down to ‘business’.
The unsuspecting teacher, who was certain they were students as the had notes and textbooks on them, wrongly imagined they came to pay him a quick-recovery visit.
In his feeble state and hasn’t been attending classes since resumption, however, he was easily overpowered as his co-tenants have all gone for their various trades, except the neighbour that called police.
Narrating the ordeal, the neighbour recounts to the police:
“I heard voices from inside his room, although faint, because our rooms are far apart.
“I thought he was merely having some conversation; I heard the moans too but who would think something like that would have happened.
“I found him naked few minutes after the girls left as I wanted to check on his health and so I called the attention of the nearest police.”
It was gathered that the man was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital and treatment has since commenced on him by doctors and nurses on duty.
Meanwhile, police said that investigation has began in earnest to fish out those behind the evil act.
When contacted, the school principal maintained that none of his students could have done that but police investigators are working with the school management to get to the root of the matter.

The theory of the Antichrist’s involvement in the Middle East is common, especially the notion that part of his strategy will be to make peace with Israel before attacking the Jewish people.

The Antichrist’s conquests will also be seen as legitimate. Revelation 13 says that the Antichrist will be “permitted to wage war on God’s holy people” and “given [power]… to extend his authority over every tribe and people.” Revelation 13 also states bluntly that the Antichrist will succeed in conquering God’s people, at least for a time.

Two members of a gang which allegedly hijacked a truck carrying 40,000 litres of petrol have been arrested by the Lagos State Police Command.



The arrested suspects have been identified as 37-year-old Charles Obilomo and 35-year-old Osita Onyeka and it was gathered that four other members of the gang which hijacked the DAF truck by intercepting the driver at a bad spot on the Mile-2 Oshodi expressway on December 28, escaped with bullet wounds.



The truck's driver, 42-year-old Muhammadu Mande and his 34-year-old conductor Lawal Usman were reportedly kept in another car with four other members of the gang at gun point and were heading to an unknown destination before they were intercepted by a police patrol team at Itire.



Lagos State's police spokesperson, Bala Elkana disclosed that the arrest was effected after police operatives from Itire Division led by the Divisional Police Officer, SP Barkfur Kromkyes were tipped off by a reliable source.



He said;



“The two suspects in police custody, Charles Obllomo and Osita Onyeka took possession of the truck. The driver and his conductor were sandwiched by the four men in military uniform in the Toyota Corolla. The truck was driving behind the Toyota Corolla and heading to an unknown destination before it was intercepted by the Police.

“According to the driver, he initially thought the hijackers were military men on stop and search duty until they started beating him and his conductor and threatened to kill them if they refuse to follow their orders. The two suspects were arrested in the truck and taken to the station. The four suspects in military uniforms escaped with bullet wounds after a fierce battle with the police. The truck and the Toyota Corolla were recovered and moved to the police station.

“Two pairs of vehicle plate numbers and military caps were recovered in the Corolla. The truck containing the PMS was handed over to the owner, Sani Samaila."

A Nigerian man identified as Ambrose Owiriwa has reportedly been arrested for allegedly killing his niece, Olayile Owiriwa over a minor misunderstanding that ensued between them.


The deceased who suffered an internal bleeding before being confirmed dead by doctors, was allegedly hit with a local cooking stand on her face and nose by her uncle. Olayile reportedly died one year into her marriage and while her father is yet to be buried.

Ambrose was also accused of biting off one of his nieces' ear and stabbing his sister in the past before his arrest after Olayile was confirmed dead.

A student of Crown Polytechnic, Ado Ekiti, has been arrested by the Ekiti Police Command over the alleged gang-rape of two fellow students of the private institution.


The Commissioner of Police in the state, Amba Asuquo, said on Sunday in Ado-Ekiti that the suspect in the company of an accomplice committed the crime on December 9.

According to him, the duo accosted the two students with dangerous weapons and forcefully took them to an abandoned building where they r3ped them.

The police boss said the suspects would be charged to court upon completion of investigations.

He added that efforts had been put in place to arrest the other fleeing suspect as a manhunt had been launched to identify his hiding place.

Activist, Olawale Bakare popularly known as Mandate, who is standing trial with pro-democracy campaigner, Omoyele Sowore, in a case brought against them by the Nigerian Government, has been declared missing.

Operatives of the Department of State Services had stormed the Federal High Court in Abuja on Friday morning during the commencement of their trial and disrupted proceedings in an attempt to forcefully rearrest the two men.

After facing resistance from other activists inside the courtroom however, the DSS operatives retreated outside to lay ambush.


The situation led to tension within the court premises for several minutes.

Senior Advocate of Nigeria and lawyer to the two men, Femi Falana, was said to had ferried the defendants in his car to the DSS headquarters where they were said to have been detained.

However, it has now emerged that only Sowore, who was in Falana’s vehicle as they left the court, was submitted back to the DSS.

Operatives of the agency are currently searching for Bakare in different parts of Abuja.

Ebonyi State Governor, David Umahi on Wednesday October 30, sacked his Technical Assistant on Social Media, Mr Ndubisi Itumo, for allegedly misinforming the public.


A statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Dr Kenneth Ugbala, said the termination was with ilmmediate effect.
“The termination is on the grounds of misconduct bordering on misinforming the public" the statement reads.
"Consequently, Mr. Itumo is directed to handover all government property in his possession to the Principal Secretary to the Governor before the close of work on Tuesday 29th October, 2019."

The sacking of Mr Itumo is said to be connected to a report alleging that the Governor has travelled to China and will be away for 23 days.

Health Minister Osagie Ehanire has said Nigeria would employ the services of medical experts from Europe and America.

The disclosure came at a time that some stakeholders are expressing concern about the migration of health workers from the country.

Ehanire said officials of the ministry were in touch with foreign embassies for specialists who would work in hospitals across the country for specified periods.


The minister, who stated this during the 2020 budget defence session, said the move would strengthen the nation’s health sector.

He was responding to a question from a member of the Mrs. Tolulope Akande Sodipe-led House of Representatives Committee on Diaspora Matters about plans for curbing medical tourism.

Ehanire said the experts, already exposed to sophisticated practice in the advanced world, would not only attend to the health needs of Nigerians but also use the opportunity to share expertise with their local counterparts.

There are equally plans to make indigenous consultants and surgeons spend some time abroad and come back to improve the Nigerian healthcare system, the minister said.

He maintained that the country’s teaching hospitals were adequately equipped and manned by experienced and qualified doctors but noted that more work needed to be done to build the confidence of Nigerians on the facilities.

A 30-year-old applicant, Sulaimon Agboola, who pleaded guilty to throwing stones and bottles at police officers on duty, has been remanded at the Kirikiri Correctional Facility, Apapa, Lagos.


Magistrate M.O. Tanimola ordered in Ikeja on Friday that the defendant should remain behind bars pending review of the facts of the case and sentencing.

Tanimola adjourned the case until Oct. 31 for review of the facts and sentencing.

The defendant, who has no fixed address, was arraigned on charges of conspiracy, membership of an unlawful society, assault, breach of the peace and possession of hemp.


The Prosecutor, Insp Aondohemba Koti, had alleged that the defendant conducted himself in a manner likely to cause breach of the peace by selling weeds suspected to be hemp and gathering hoodlums smoking weeds on the Agege Motor Road in Oshodi, Lagos State.

Koti told the court that the defendant committed the offences in conspiracy with others still at large, on Oct. 17 at 9.45 p.m. at Cappa, Oshodi.

He said that the defendant managed an unlawful society and threatened violence to police officers on patrol by throwing stones and bottles at them while performing their lawful duties.

“The defendant tried to resist arrest when he was caught with weeds suspected to be Indian hemp.

“He resorted to fighting the police officers by throwing stones and bottles at them.

“He was arrested while his accomplices took to their heels,” the prosecutor submitted.

Operatives of the inspector general of police intelligence response team (IRT) have arrested two members of a three-man fraud syndicate who specialize in forging Local Purchase Order (LPO) to fraudulently collect goods from companies and individuals.



The arrested suspects identified as 52-year-old Oluwatoyin Shyombo and 43-year-old Adeyemo Taiwo, reportedly use some of the goods or one percent of the proceeds to sow seeds in some churches in Nigeria after every successful operation.



Speaking to newsmen, Oluwatoyin said ” We first sent Taiwo to the Apostolic church to tell the pastor in charge that Joseph George wanted to sow seeds. We later went to rice company in Benue and submitted the LPO for 200 bags of rice at #13,500 per bag .

"We also called the Flier Thermacool company in Ilupeju to come to Deeper life church to collect the LPO pretending that we were representing the church whereas the church was not aware of the deal.

"Thermacool company later supplied 50 standing AC at #600,000 each, 20 split AC at #90,000 each and 10 pieces of generators at #230,000 each.

"We gave seven standing generators to Amaechi, the standby buyer and he gave us #600,000 for transport, 13 split AC but he did not give us a dime. Police recovered some of the goods."

Also confessing to the crime, Taiwo said “I am married with four children. I work in Oil and gas company. I am from Ile Ife, Osun state. I was formerly working in Bako Superstar company that produces sack at #14,000 salary at Oregun Orile in 1998 but I had problem and was fired.

I started hustling in Apapa. When I carry oil, 50, 000 litres or 33,000 litres I get #1 or #50 per litre. The job is quite challenging and frustrating sometimes. My role was to go to Christ Apostolic in Abuja and tell the pastor in charge that I want to sow seed. It was George that printed the LPO but the moment we were done with the transaction he traveled to South Africa. I collected only #250,000. I went to Deeper life church at Ireakari Isolo and told them we wanted to give them AC and we called the Thermacool company. The arrest of Amaechi led to our arrest. We gave church one standing AC.

"When the company did not see any money they called the complainant who collected the rice and supplied to the fraudsters"



It was further learnt that the churches are usually not aware of their criminal activities. The Lagos State police spokesperson, Bala Elkana said the suspects will be charged to court after investigation has been concluded.

The trial of musician, Azeez Fashola aka Naira Marley at the Federal High Court in Lagos has been adjourned till December 11th and 12th following a heated argument over space to seat in the court this morning.



The trial resumed for hearing today October 24th but as the judge settled in to hear the case, the lawyer representing the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Rotimi Oyedepo and Naira Marley’s counsel, Olalekan Ojo, SAN, and two other senior lawyers, began to quarrel over seats available in the court.


The presiding jduge, Justice Nicholas Oweibo appealed to the lawyers to bear with the government over inadequate space in the courtroom. The court rooms in the Federal High Court Lagos are usually very small.


Justice Oweibo then adjourned the case immediately.

That makes them highly dependent on their southern neighbour Nigeria, the biggest economy in west Africa with its oil riches and 190 million people.

“Maradi is suffocating,” said Ali, a kabou-kabou driver, the local motorbike taxi. “The city is usually bustling with people — now it’s almost dead.”

“We are very angry,” said Ahmadou Amadou, who imports motorbikes for a living. “The business sector is wasting away.” If the border closure continues, then they will be ruined, he added.

Oba Popoola died at the age of 62 after battling with a terminal ailment. A one-time chairman, Council of Obas in Ekiti State, died on Tuesday.

Oba Popoola, who was installed on January 20, 2000, succeeded Oba Oyinloye Oladimeji Olubin.

Oyo State Government on Tuesday vowed to bring to book those behind an inferno, which razed a block of three classrooms at Cannon Okusehinde Memorial Primary School, School I, Aremo, Ibadan, the state capital.

The Executive Chairman, Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Dr. Nureni Aderemi Adeniran, spoke when he visited the school to assess the level of destruction caused by the fire incident.

Adeniran, who frowned on the alleged masterminds of the inferno, promised that the state government would investigate the alleged act of arson and fish out all culprits involved.


He added that anyone found culpable would face the wrath of the law.

Speaking earlier, the Head Teacher, Cannon Okusehinde Memorial School, Aremo, School I, Mrs. Sherifat Salam, described the inferno as the height of vandalism against the school.

She told to the SUBEB chairman that hoodlums had incessantly burgled the school in the past few weeks.

The Explosive Ordnance Disposal unit of the Nigeria Police Force has said the unit recently recovered an explosive material from the premises of the Independent National Electoral Commission in Owerri, Imo State.


The command said the 80mm Mortal Bomb was evacuated to the EOD base in the state, noting that three IEDs were also recovered from the BUA Cement Company premises in Okpella, Edo State on October 1, 2019

“On August 16, 2019, technicians from EOD base, Owerri, recovered an 80mm Mortal Bomb on INEC premises, Umuguma, Owerri South Local Government Area, Imo State. The UXO was however evacuated to EOD base, Owerri Storage Magazine.


“On August 27, 2019, around 8.30pm, EOD personnel in conjunction with the FCT Police Command recovered 50 cartridges of commercial high explosive and 100 pieces of electric detonator at El-Rufai Motor Park, Nyanya, Abuja. Two suspects were apprehended and that matter is being investigated,” the command stated.

The police unit disclosed these in Lagos on Monday while receiving two mobile detection systems donated by the United States Department of Energy/National Nuclear Security Administration, Office of Nuclear Smuggling Detection and Deterrence.

The EOD Commissioner of Police, Maikudi Sheu, said the equipment (two special vehicles) would assist the command in intercepting explosives being smuggled into the country.

He said, “We need to fortify the entry and exit points of our country with the provision of these two vehicles. They will go a long way to help us detect materials that are illegally coming into our country. It will help us to put an end to the nefarious activities of these criminals.

“We are starting with two. We will discuss with the Inspector-General of Police to know how best to deploy these vehicles. When we do that and see how effective they are, then we will have to procure more to be able to cover other borders.

“I urge all participants to ensure effective use of the equipment and utilise the knowledge to be acquired from this training to enhance our national nuclear security.”

The Senior Advisor, US-DOE/NNSA/NSDD, Bryceon Shulman, said the gesture was an attempt to form a long-lasting partnership with Nigeria in the fight against trafficking in radioactive materials.

The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission has declared wanted the suspended chairman of the Special Investigation Panel for the Recovery of Public Property, Mr. Okoi Ofem Obono-Obla

Taking to its official Twitter handle @ICPC_PE on Tuesday, the ICPC noted that the former presidential aide was declared wanted “due to his repeated failure to appear before it to answer questions bordering on allegations of fraud and corruption.”

“Mr. Obono-Obla is facing [a] series of allegations leveled against him by members of the public on his role as head of the government panel on asset recovery.


“The Commission is in receipt of petitions accusing him of abuse of office, falsification of admission records, living above his income and collection of gratification from suspects under his investigation,” the tweet noted.

Continuing, ICPC said, “The suspended chairman is also facing allegations of working outside the guidelines governing the panel by investigating unauthorised petitions and prosecuting suspects without recourse to the office of the Attorney General of the Federation.

“ICPC had conducted [a] series of investigations on the allegations, with preliminary findings showing that some provisions of the Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Act, 2000 and extant laws of Nigeria had been allegedly violated by Mr. Obono-Obla.

“Consequently, ICPC had extended several invitations to him, which he had failed to honour without giving any reason

“Attempts to track and make him appear before the Commission also failed, leading ICPC to contact other law enforcement agencies for assistance concerning his whereabouts.

“One of such contacts has yielded results, as records from the Nigeria Immigration Service show that Mr. Obono-Obla had traveled out of the country.

“The NIS records revealed that he left the country to an undisclosed location on 17th August, 2019, through the Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Ikeja, [Lagos] and has not returned two months after,” it added.
