A report claims that a 35-year-old Pakistani woman was allegedly 'raped for hours' during surgery for haemorrhoids at one of the country's leading hospitals.

According to the report, woman was admitted at Services Hospital in Lahore on Friday where she underwent the procedure and was discharged later in the evening.

Daily Mail reported that after the woman regained consciousness following the surgery, she realised she had been assaulted as she realized, and reported the matter to police.

A report filed by Lahore's police contained a witness statement in which the woman claimed she was raped during the eight-hour operation.

'I was admitted to the hospital for a surgery on November 24,' the report read.

'When I regained consciousness from the anesthesia that night, I realised I had been assaulted during the surgery.
'It was an 8-hour-long operation but they discharged me from the hospital the same day,' the woman told the police.

The woman later started complaining about pain and bleeding from urinary tract.

She claimed her sister took her to Sheikh Zayed Hospital where it was confirmed she had been raped.

According to the police report, 'As her pain increased at night, the woman was taken to Sheikh Zayed Hospital where it was found that she had been allegedly raped.’

A three-member inquiry committee was set up on Monday by the Punjab Health Minister Dr Yasmin Rashid, to probe the alleged rape.

Meanwhile, a DNA samples have been collected from the woman and the investigation is said to be ongoing.

Reno Omokri, ex-media aide to former President Goodluck Jonathan, has told Aisha Buhari, wife of President Muhammadu Buhari, to stop complaining about the All Progressives Congress (APC) and join the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) instead.

Aisha Buhari had taken to Twitter earlier on Sunday to berate the national leadership of the APC for what she described as "impunity", just as she noted that she would not "hesitate" to "dissociate [herself] from such unfairness".
Although Aisha did not expressly state what the APC had done to offend her, her anger may be connected to the emergence of Jibrilla Bindo, Governor of Adamawa State, as the preferred candidate for the Adamawa governorship ticket, instead of her brother, who was also eyeing the ticket.

However, Omokri has extended PDP's hand of fellowship to the president's wife.

A tweet on his handle read: "I urge the other aspirants to immediately congratulate HE @Atiku and unite behind him to permanently retire that tyrant in @AsoRock. I also noticed that @aishambuhari is complaining about APC primaries. I urge her to decamp to @OfficialPDPNig. We don’t believe in ‘other rooms’!" John Ogar Odey, a former Minister of Information and former National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), is dead.

News of his death was announced by Uche Secondus, National Chairman of the PDP, during the national convention of the party held at Amasiemaka Stadium, Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

Odey was said to have died in the early hours of Sunday.

The Ondo State Police Command has arrested a worker, Adewale Adegoroye, for allegedly killing his boss, Akinwumi Akinmulero, the manager of a cooperative society owned by cocoa farmers in Ondo State.
The 42-year-old suspect was said to have been hired by Akinmulero on commission basis since September 2017, but had a disagreement with the manager on Wednesday over his wage.
The argument was said to have become heated and the suspect reportedly stabbed Akinmulero and fled with N700,000 belonging to the cooperative society.
It was gathered that the cooperative society money was meant to be given to agents to buy cocoa produce from farmers in the rural areas.
Parading the suspect at the Ondo State Police Command headquarters in Akure on Thursday, the Police Public Relations Officer, Mr Femi Joseph, said the suspect allegedly killed his boss and stole the N700,000 which the deceased withdrew from a bank.
Joseph said, “Akinwumi (Akinmulero) withdrew N700,000 from a bank. He was the manager of a multi-purpose cooperative society belonging to farmers in Ondo.
“On seeing him with the money,, the suspect followed his boss, stabbed him and stole the money. Luck, however, ran out on him as he was chased by the people around.
“He jumped into one compound where he was arrested by people. He would have been lynched if not for the intervention of the police.”
The suspect said he did not intentionally kill his boss, adding that he stabbed him during an argument over his wage.
He said, “He has not paid me since I started working for him in September last year. On Tuesday when he brought the money to the office, I asked him to give me my wage from the money he brought because I was hungry.
“He ignored me and refused to give me the money; so, I forcefully took N200,000 from the money. But he grabbed it and slapped me. He also brought out a knife to stab me, but I managed to collect the knife from him. I stabbed him and ran out of the office with the N200,000. I acted that way because I was frustrated; I did not know that he would die.”

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission( EFCC) is set for the trial of Gbenga Makanjuola, deputy chief of staff to the Senate President Bukola Saraki and a former Managing Director of Societe Generale Bank of Nigeria( SGBN), Robert Mbonu.



The duo are to be arraigned over the alleged conversion of N3.5billion of N19billion London-Paris Club refund to states. The other accused are Melrose General Services Limited and Obiora Amobi. No date has been fixed for the trial of the suspects at a Federal High Court in Lagos, TheNation newspaper reported today.



In the charges against the suspects, the EFCC said there was no service rendered to have warranted the payment of the N3.5billion.



The charges read in part: “That you Robert Chidozie Mbonu, Melrose General Services Limited and other persons at large on or about the 14th day of December, 2016 in Lagos within the jurisdiction of this Honourable Court conspired amongst yourselves to disguise the unlawful origin of the sum of N3.5billion paid into the account of Melrose General Services Limited and thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 18 of the Money Laundering Prohibition Act, 2011 (as amended by Act No. 1 of 2012) and punishable under section 15 (3) of the same Act.

“That you Robert Chidozie Mbonu and Melrose General Services Limited having reason to know that N3.5billion directly represented the proceeds of your unlawful activity to wit: Conspiracy and Stealing: did convert the said funds which you received from the Nigeria Governors Forum under the false guise that you were entitled to payment of consultancy fees from money recovered for the states in relation to “over-deductions on Paris and London club loans on the account of the states and local government (1995-2002)” which service you did not render and thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 15(2) (b) of the Money Laundering Prohibition Act, 2011 (as amended by Act No. 1 of 2012) and punishable under section 15 (3) of the same Act.

“That you Robert Chidozie Mbonu and Melrose General Services Limited on or about the 14th December, 2016 in Lagos within the jurisdiction of this Honourable Court did retain in the Access Bank Plc Account No. 0005892453 operated by Melrose General Services Limited the sum of N3, 500,000,000.00 received from the Nigeria Governors Forum when you reasonably ought to know that the said money was a direct proceed of your unlawful activity to wit Conspiracy and Stealing: and thereby committed an offence contrary to section 15(2) ((1) 0f the Money Laundering Prohibition Act, 2011 (as amended by Act No. 1 of 2012) and punishable under section 15 (3) of the same Act.

“That you Robert Chidozie Mbonu and Melrose General Services Limited on or about the 20th of December, 2015 in Lagos wihln the jurisdiction of this Honourable Court did transfer the sum 0f N50m being part of N3.5billion which represented the direct proceed of your unlawful activity to wit: (Conspiracy and Stealing) to Gbenga Makanjuola and thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 15(2) (b) of the Money Laundering Prohibition Act, 2011 (as amended by Act No. 1 of 2012) and punishable under section 15 (3) of the same Act.

That you Gbenga Makanjuola on or about the 20th of December, 2016 in Abuja within the jurisdiction of this Honourable Court did make cash payment of the sum of N50, 000,000.00 (Fifty million naira) to Robert Chidozie Mbonu without going through a financial institution and thereby committed an offence contrary to section 1(a) of the Money Laundering Prohibition Act, 201 1 (as amended by Act No. 1 of 2012) and punishable under section 16 (2) (b) of the same Act.

“That you Robert Chidozie Mbonu on or about the 20th of December, 2016 in Abuja within the jurisdiction of this Honourable Court did accept cash payment of the sum of N50million from Gbenga Makanjuola without going through a financial institution and thereby committed an offence contrary to section 1(a) of the Money Laundering Prohibition Act, 2011 (as amended by Act No. 1 of 2012) and punishable under section 16 (2) (b) of‘ the same Act.

This comes days after FIFA gave Nigeria deadline to avoid international suspensions due to the interference in the Nigeria Football Federation.



In a letter issued last week, FIFA said that the Nigerian soccer federation headquarters must be handed back to the elected leadership by Monday, August 20, 2018 or the country will be suspended from international competitions.



Following FIFA's deadline the Federal Government on Saturday dispatched a letter to FIFA’s headquarters in Zurich, detailing the agreement reached between both bodies, making it imperative on the world soccer ruling body’s chieftains to drop the proposed sanctions on Nigeria from noon today, if the leadership of Amaju Pinnick is not allowed to do its jobs at the Glasshouse of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), following the legal tussle in the country’s polity.

Sokoto State governor, Aminu Tambuwal, has reacted to claims made by the National leader of APC, Bola Tinubu, that he defected from the ruling APC to PDP, because he could not muster the courage to contest against president Buhari for the APC presidential ticket.

Tinubu in a statement released yesterday August 19th, said Tambuwal's defection on August 1st was primarily so he can pursue his presidential ambition which he cannot achieve on the platform of APC.
