I stated it clearly before now that there was no functional refinery owned by Nigerian government anywhere.
Going by the way Buhari pulled out that $1.5bn upfront from the federation account, without any due process, I guess some advisers just reminded him then of the lucrative TAM ‘opportunities’ available in that sector to Nigerian presidents which he had yet to tap into.
I knew those refineries would never work.

I said this before - it only makes sense to convert one car if only you have at least 2.
The politicians leading the advocacy for CNG would never convert their “big-man” cars. At least, everybody needs to save money.

My considered opinion is that the Nigeria Police is a major reason why God is angry with this land because of the level of gross injustice and innocent blood they continually shed. Quadri is just one of the few that are fortunate to have passionate and honest defence lawyers and to survive the inhumane conditions of the Nigerian prisons.

And this is one area in which I feel Osinbajo could have performed better being a Christian lawyer.

Only God knows how many minors or even adults have been framed and suffering for nothing.

Moreover, there are many boys from broken homes who get entangled with criminals they regard as egbons. Over time these young boys are groomed and manipulated to commit crimes. Unfortunately, Nigeria police doesn't seem to separate these minors/first offenders because there is no juvenile system to subject them to. In this way, more criminals are created after their prison experience.

The truth is that time has come for CJN and NASS to consider setting up JUVENILE JUSTICE SYSTEM in Nigeria.

If You want him to sell in Naira then Let NNPCL obey the agreed agreement Naira to crude.

NNPCL cannot eat their cake and have it.

They want to continue to import fuel, but no reasonable reason for them to do that hence this back and forth on renenging on Naira to Crude agreement

But truth be told, this seems like a different season to Dangote. Every policy has always been designed around his interests.

NNPCL is terminating, Naira to crude agreement and in turn selling less quantity in dollars.

So you want him to continue selling in Naira where would he balance up the Dollar deficit

Both parties have to negotiate.

1. FG’s regulation suggests that all local transactions must be done in Naira.
2. Dangote does not buy the imported component of his crude in Naira, transactions like this must be at arm’s length, but he’s used to incentives in various ways.

I consider Dangote’s tantrums and threat as sheer blackmail. He’s never used to being denied his desires by the Nigerian government.

90% of Nigeria’s big companies, especially those in the manufacturing sector, get their inputs in foreign currencies. He should get a qualified accountant to do the maths for him!
