I honestly believe that many Christians criticize Islam, without reading about Islam from reputable Islamic sources. Furthermore, I believe that Christians do not read their Bible. Take, for example, the head scarf, may Christians think that women in Islam are oppressed because men forced them to wear head scarf. How about the hundred of thousands of Muslim women in the West who put Hijab on? Can men force them to do that in the west?? This is just a big lie against Islam.

Have you ever seen Virgin Mary in a movie without headscarf? She used headscarf in normal life.

Hijab is a part of dressing. Sikh wear Turbine. Western women [not Christian Ladies] wear BIKINI. Even then media is not allowed to show First Ladies in their Bikinis !!.

Okay, what Trump did for Nigeria or Africa at large?? Well, you might not know because of almost 100% negative coverage of the man.

Because, they are going to do the bidding of America and seek its interest, not Nigeria. America is their country and they pledge their loyalty to its flag totally. Every decision they are going to take on that job will be of America's interest and not Nigeria's. Trump overrule this law, and sold weapons to Nigeria and even remove the embargo that denied Nigeria to assess weapons from other countries under US influence.

Also, Trump was the first president to question US military overreaching tendencies towards countries that do not warrant such military intervention. He openly said the US military is not the world police and the UN should step up to its responsibilities.

He stopped more militarization of US camps in Niger and Cameroun. He removed US military generals from Africa and redeployed them to focus more on China and Russia.

If I may ask? what on hell are US high military generals doing in sub-Saharan Africa. Is Africa a major threat to them? He ended US occupation in Somalia and reduced US military involvement in the continent rather engage through trade—which of course China is doing.

The carnage in Libya is still there and under Trump, Africa can at least breathe of the threat of financial sanctions and military oppression.

And for visa restriction, and please not ban as you stipulated, yes I somewhat disagree with it. But can you totally blame the man? America is facing an immigration crisis that has lingered for years. Congress has refused to solve this issue and it was one of the reasons Trump was elected. America needs an immigration overhaul or the country will soon collapse in its face.

Trump wants to prioritize merit instead of chain migration. He was merit to be sole for immigration to America. I think he wants to move it from the present 15% quota to 75%. Even I do not agree with this approach, but the man is just doing want he believes is best for his country.

Do you think Canada is stupid with its immigration policies? They are busy taking our best from us. Medical doctors, professionals, and other top ends skill sets. Go to major companies in Nigeria, the majority of their top managers and highly skilled individuals have migrated to Canada or contemplating to do so.

The British just announced their merit-based immigration system. Even the Dubai government will now start giving citizenship to certain professions.
All countries are busy shoring up their economy with the right people to bolster their economy.

And for the alleged "shithole" comment. Okay, I completely agree is bad, but can we say it is racist? The same guy called some US cities far worst. He said San Francisco is a shit city because of the politicians in an attack on Pelosi. Truly some part of SF, you will see Americans shitting on the street and taking their bath as well. This is a city considered to be one of the wealthiest in the world, yet thousands of Americans are sleeping on the street. And SF is predominantly white.

And lastly for the LGBTQ issue, what he did is barring the US military from funding the bills of people who want to engage in transgender operation which will definitely lead to them not entering the military. That is, you can not say you are transgender, then applied for the US military to fund the act to make you one. And this lead Trump to argue people who do not know their sex or finding it difficult to ascertain their sex will not be good for the military or better still at the war front.

And by the way, Trump is the first president to appoint an openly gay man into his cabinet. So that does for it for the anti-gay narrative. In fact, he has stated it many times that gay people in America have the same right as all Americans and should not be discriminated against.

The border was shut towards the end of 2019 primarily to reduce importation and encourage production and patronage of local products. It is also to stall smuggling of contraband items like rice, arms among others.

When this policy was made, MAN (that is, Manufacturers Association of Nigeria) praised the government, because the development would help them produce and sell more without threats from foreign products.

For the government, shutting the border, it was hoped, would boost local production and gear us towards self-sufficiency. However, taking stock of the events that have occurred between then and now, it is not sure if the intended purpose would be achieved simply because of the 'greed' of local producers and suppliers.

Now, let's take rice as a case study. Note that rice has been a contraband product for years but was still always finding its way into the country. The foreign rice is far cheaper and, thus, affecting the ability of local producers to sell because they could not compete with foreign rice on the level of quality and price. Therefore, it was a gain for local rice producers when the border was totally shut.

But, unfortunately, what the border closure has done, at best, is to foster an increase in production and sales of local rice. It did not stop the price of rice from skyrocketing to a level that a common man can no longer afford. In other words, the policy did not better the lot of the masses, even though the government had good intentions.

I blame local producers and suppliers whose greed and to posture to 'have it all now' brought the policy to disrepute. The border closure was their chance to penetrate and gain the local market with quality and fairly-priced products but they missed it.

I will not blame the government if the reopening of the border affects the business of MAN because they did not help the government to prove that the border closure was good. Federal Government cannot continue to take insults and curses from the masses for the border closure while some sections of MAN continue to use the instance of the policy to milk Nigerians.

As the border reopens, I expect the quantity of foreign rice finding its way into the country to massively increase and this will crash the price of a bag of rice in the market. Many local producers will lose businesses. I expect suppliers to divert into the supply of foreign products. So, in the end, it is local producers that will lose.
